FMy favorite plane period and as for characters, Gisa and Geralf 100%. These two are complete sibling-shitlords and yet they are among (if not the) most powerful necromancers on the plane, a plane filled with necromancers and the like, so that says something.
The story of Avacyn and Sorrin is so tragic. It is by far my favorite story from Innistrad. Both wanting so desperately to do good, and protect their home and its inhabitants, that they ultimately become monsters in doing so, and arguably cause more harm than good.
Nahiri was mad at Sorin but didn't get murderous until after Sorin refused to apologize for shrugging off her words. It wasn't the fact that the helvault itself was blocking off communication between innistrad and the rest of the multiverse it's the fact he just didn't care that it was
It was Sorin callous dismissal of Nahiri that kinda soured me on Sorin. He had it coming. Then Nahiri went more and more insane. Idk if I back current Nahiri either.
Ludevic has always interested me. Also I like how the delver of secrets changes throughout the sets. I'm pretty sure WOTC will go back to innistrad again, and end up using emrakul to blow it up, most places end up blown up in MTG stories
I really wanted to learn more about Innistrad, especially after the return to the plane in those recent sets, but didn't see the first Innistrad video you published. Watched that one AND this one between yesterday and right now and I have to admit, it's a phenomenal story. I don't know if it's because of your amazing storytelling capabilities or because the story is genuinely intriguing, either way I really enjoyed these videos (much like I did for the Nicol Bolas videos) and will check out way more lore since I haven't really checked out anything else and your channel is just THAT good. Thank you :)
Wow, thanks so much I'm glad you enjoy the content! Innistrad is a great plane with rich stories, I couldn't even fit all of them into this 1.5 hr telling. Hope you enjoy your time on the channel
@@TheLorebrarians After watching all of this amazing story, I started building a human commander deck centered around the Innistrad plane, and will keep the flavor to the max by trying and using almost only cards from innistrad blocks. @@TheLorebrarians I adored Avacyn, and never thought the plane would be the same without her. But I have to say... Liesa and Sigarda are both growing on me...
Ya know, looking back at the art of Blood Tribute and its lore, I don't know if that shows how desperate the people of Stensia were or just how crazy Olivia is. Sorin: Drinks the blood and experiences intense trauma then he seemingly vanishes in a flash of light/shadow... Olivia: "My Turn!"
It is too bad Gitrog Monster, Liesa(her return in Vow), Ludevic, Gisa/Geralf (when they joined forces in Shadows arc), Ishkanah did not get too much of a mention. Then again most of them were just there for fun and not really lore important to the main story. I still enjoyed the heck out of this video! Thank you!
Yes, I would have loved to include the lesser characters but since it was already pushing 1.5 hrs I had to cut many of those stories non-essential to the main line
I think I’ve binged every MTG lore video you have now, and I absolutely love your storytelling. To comment on the stories themselves: you can just tell when a massive change in the writing team and/or direction happened in MTG. The stories went from grand, and honestly nihilistic to an extremely typical avengers-esc plot. I get that the Mending de-powered Planeswalkers, but even the stories that take place immediately afterward show that they are a cut above the rest. The idea that a room of common vampires is literally any trouble for Sorin at all is laughable when compared next to even his post-Mending achievements. Planeswalkers went from God-like beings that mostly served themselves or their people to a group of bleeding-heart Boy Scouts. And yes, some of the Gatewatch were introduced like that, but many others like Teferi, Karn, and Vraska had complete personality shifts to fit into the new writing direction. Also the idea that any Planeswalker can just be called upon at any moment to help with any level of problem is asinine. A Planeswalker as powerful as Teferi should not be able to be bestest so damn easily by Olivia. It just doesn’t make sense. Anyway, that’s what really grinds my gears.

Oh man ask me to pick favorites from favorites then... I think favorite single set of Innistrad is probably Midnight Hunt, favorite overall story arc the conflict between Arlinn and Tovolar, favorite single story The Dusk Reborn or Under the Silver Moon, favorite planebound characters Adeline, Sigarda, Liesa, Hal and Alena, and Avacyn (RIP), and favorite planeswalker is Arlinn but Sorin puts up much more of a fight post crimson vow than he did before it.
Of course, and welcome to the channel! I'm actually planning on expanding more beyond MTG next year, what other hobbies are you interested in or want to learn more about?
@@TheLorebrarians other hobby’s are board games and video games. For board games a cool example is Kingdom Death Monster, video games there are a lot of options but Dark Souls and Bloodborne are other great examples. Oh, back on board games there is a card game by fantasy flight games called Arkham horror that has a lot of the Cthulhu mythology that would be fun.
@@hesporos I've not heard of Kingdom Death Monster but the Arkham horror games are quite fun. I may dip my feet into Soulsborne with the upcoming Elden Ring, but I do really enjoy that universe. Appreciate the suggestions
New to Innistrad here! Which are the 7 sets mentioned please? Crimson, midnight, shadows, innistrad , Eldritch , dark ascension . I am missing one in the list. Any help please? 😊
It's a shame this video could not wait for the final chapter of Crimson Vow. Arlinn, as much as I like her, actually loses to Olivia when she transforms and her bestial mind gets distracted while fighting, allowing Olivia to seriously wound her and run. She is saved by Tovolar and her own wolves, in a moment of semi-redemption for the werewolf leader, and they pursue Olivia and Edgar together. It is ultimately Tovolar who managed to make Olivia drop the key to escape, and he allows Arlinn and friends to take the key to the celestus. Arlinn is left with very complicated feelings about Tovolar, since he is still responsible for the Harvestide Massacre. Katilda advises her that is okay to be conflicted about the man who was a father figure to her, and that while she can be glad of his assistance and hopeful for his redemption, she shouldn't forget his crimes either, and there will be a reckoning someday. I think this plot point rounds out the story from midnight hunt well, providing further depth for both Arlinn's and Tovolar's characters, and makes me more invested in seeing what will happen with the werewolves on Innistrad.

Here is something to add to the lore archives: due to the planes unique necromancy, the undead of Innistrad are immune the Phyresis
You have an excellent narration, vocals, and do a dumfouding amount of research. I absolutely love the content.

Thanks so much, very glad to hear the content is enjoyable!
I enjoy this channel n the Aether hub channel this one goes into more detail can't wait for you to blow up bro
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Growing slowly but surely!
Maybe I missed it in the video but dont forget Murkfiend Liege. It lets you untap your commander each turn and if you have enough things to sacrifice you will drown in value.
Love these deep dives into the various planes! Keep up the excellent work :)

Thanks for the support!
#Giveaway I just started watching your videos but I love the detail you go into, some of the stuff is harder to find and you do a really good job explaining it all.
Awesome, love to hear it and welcome to the channel!
I love how in "Always watching" the angels look to me like harpies, wish that next time there are harpies and it's explained they are former angels that mutated
Awesome storytelling, I can almost picture the plane if I shut my eyes. #GIVEAWAY
Those are all great picks. I think Liesa has definitely captured my interest after having been given two printings and reintroduced to the story
I've just discovered this channel, and I love your videos! I've been binge-watching your MtG videos and I must say they're awesome! #giveaway
Appreciate it, hope you enjoy the rest of the content!
That was f*cking epic
I just recently started getting into the lore behind magic, and it is great. I really enjoy the detailed lore on this channel. Keep it up. #giveaway
Thanks, I appreciate it and love helping people connect with the stories behind the game
I’ve only recently found your channel, I love lore of any hobby I get into. So thank you for making it accessible! #giveaway
Innistrad is my home plane, man. It's so gorgeous, and haunting. Everything about it makes me happy #giveaway
I agree, truly a wonderfully built plane!

I’ve been wondering about the lore of innastrad since midnight hunt came out. It’s like this channel can read my mind! #giveaway
Uh oh, guard your thoughts well. Glad you enjoyed!
#giveaway I think my favorite story is that of the gitrog monster....the townsfolk worshipping it and making sacrifices to him are a interesting story
Thats awesome. I love the little side stories, but unfortunately couldn't fit them all into the video
New to Innistrad here! Which are the 7 sets mentioned please? Crimson, midnight, shadows, innistrad , Eldritch , dark ascension . I am missing one in the list. Any help please? 😊
Avacyn Restored is the final set of the original block
If “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” was a story
#giveaway This channel has become my preferred way to get magic lore. Keep it going!
I love to hear it and glad you enjoy!
Watching the vídeo to have knoledge to My undead wizard that Im playing on a innistrad dnd campain
Great video! I'm curious to see what WOTC does with the Emrakul moon plotpoint in the future. #giveaway
Same! I think she may be unleashed on the phyrexians or another grave threat
Will you make a story about Ixalian Conquistador Vampires?
Runo!!!! I am having a hard time getting a commander deck to work for him, I love the card, but the deck just seems to be okay 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, it's such a shame cause I'm so glad that he got a printing and I want him to work!
@@TheLorebrarians I am determined to make it work- might have to Christmas gift a top and entomb to myself...

Appreciate the suggestion! I'd love to do tarkir soon, it introduced my favorite spirit dragon and many other cool characters
Sorrin’s only mirthless because he’s still salty Nahiri stuck him in a wall
