I think they didn't offer the hybrid at launch because the lexus UX has the hybrid system the corolla cross needs in order for it to be competitive because the 1.8L hybrid from the corolla sedan is too underpowered

I really like it’s shape. It’s not too angular, and seems like a great alternative to Toyota’s expensive Highlander, perhaps too utilitarian rav4, and it seems like a better deal than the Venza which is like a highlander in terms of luxury but smaller. I feel like with the new Venza and now this SUV, Toyota has really caught up with the SUV world.
I've never been a fan of the HR-V's styling, not as overwrought as the C-HR but there was no reason not to carry over the Fit's main body pressings and just add cladding along with raised ride height, and I'm disappointed they're keeping the hokey "hidden" rear door handles in the next generation.
What is beautiful about this? It's a station wagon that looks like all the other station wahons/ crossovers out there. I don't know what is wrong with people these days this SUV/crossovers crazy is probably the worse thing to happen in automotive history. There is no creativity or innovation in design everyone is just creating a box with 4 wheels and calling it a crossover or SUV.
I'm glad that the XLE trim version of the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross has all the safety features, plus Blind Spot Monitoring and Front and Rear Parking Assist With Automatic Braking.
Where is the Hybrid? In regard to 'making a big splash', millions of extra gallons of gas will be burned because you failed to have the Hybrid ready at launch. If we wanted a knockoff CUV with a retrograde torsion beam rear suspension, we could buy a Hyundai or Mazda. What happened to 'No More Boring Cars'? Please send this half-baked Corolla Cross back to the drawing board.
Why don't you make a AWD-e Corolla Hybrid? Accord to your own engineers it wouldn't be hard to pull off and considering the Corolla hybrid and the AWD-e Prius are built off the same platform that one could build an AWD-e Corolla from off the shelf parts, all that you'd need is new software. I wouldn't buy the first or second model year of it, but I'd definitely buy a third model year of it.

I’ve driven Corollas as rental vehicle for years. ICE mileage always close to 40MPG. Spectacular.
