    Aluminium all the way Rob. This has to be the best looking 65 so far.

    Most beautiful color combination on the dial of this Oris model - by far!...

    Oris has the knack of making spectacular watch dials of any watches in their divers 65 watches.

    I love it when these jewelers/ shops loan watches out to review. Its hard in this hobby, these things are expensive. Just hope it pays off for them, so they keep sending new stuff out to review.

      Hope to set up some affiliate links with some places, that way we can track all of that. Plus could help the channel even more.

    I wasn't sure about this colorway when I first saw it, but I have to admit that it's grown on me! Great review as always, Rob!

      Same. I thought it too kitschy but bought one the other day. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

    Oris makes nices watches. Wish these were 200m WR. I would get one.

    Love it. I have a Submariner and a Seamaster, so I'm not getting another diver, but I love this watch.

    I was on the Oris web site and took a chance on their dealer locator. I figured the nearest would be a major trip like Boston or New York City. Surprise, there's one about 20 miles from me, and they had 10 or 12 variations on the big crown pointer date on display. I went in looking for the bronze but switched my choice to the blue-grey once I tried it on. The down side of the AD experience is now I've got the 65 and a couple of others stuck in my head.

    Great review, thanks. Tried this on and thinking about buying it. Looks even better in real life. Hard decision on this Vs the dark blue dial.

    Chemical elements feature the Latin suffix "ium" at the end. Sodium, magnesium, potassium etc. It makes sense for Aluminium to follow suit. Etymology is so cool though and I love how different words evolved and changed around the world. Call it what you want at the end of the day though...

      What about Gold? or Iron. Or Sulfur, or silver, or Nickel

    • @MattSteemson
      @MattSteemson 3 роки тому

      @@firitheryn I should have said "tend to feature", my bad. The spelling of Aluminium has changed a few times since it was first discovered. A lot of modern American spellings of English words are actually old English spellings that America kept since independence. The UK actually changed the spelling of the words since the 18th century so the modern American spellings are actually more true to original English.

    Yep, two very different pronunciations of that light metal depending on whether you're here in the UK or there in the US - not sure how that happened

    I really hate the 100 M ‘diver’ watches. If it looks like a diver, it should be 200M or greater. Other than that, I like it.

    Getting into the aluminum argument, technically, us, most, of us Americans are correct in our pronunciation of the word. The British chaps are wrong. Said what I said. Lol.
