Oris divers 65 is a vintage remake that was re-released in 2015 as a modern reissue. Oris was greeted by a pleasant surprise as collectors of all types flocked this distinct diver. Well now Oris is taking it up a notch with the divers 65 GLOW! It has an interesting lume glow look in daylight thanks to its aqua colored lume. A beautiful divers watch and a staple in any collection.

Strap footage was lost. Its 20mm tapers down to 15.5mm. Has QUICK RELEASE spring bars as well! Its nice and soft and broke in fast.
I inherited TWO vintage "self winders" and passed them on to my sons. They each LOVE them! I'm SO glad since they were BOTH worn by their Grandfather who unfortunately passed away before his grandsons were born. I know he's smiling down on them from Heaven.
Thanks for sharing a nice family story with watches
Man, that's a great-looking watch. It's out of my current price range, but I can appreciate it from afar.
Buy it! I just bought the one with the bronze bezel and black dial, or I would do it. Oris really does dials well. They know colors and they're not afraid to go out of our comfort zone.
The dial and indices are beautiful on this watch. It’s great how thin this watch is also. Oris may be going up market but they’re doing it with some really sharp looking watches. There is something about vintage looking divers that always grabs my attention. 👍🏻 great review FT.
No doubt!
Love that it has no date. Makes the dial look that much better.
Cleannnnnn
Oops. It looks used.. oh, well.. I guess you're just going to have to keep it.
I like this color way alot. Are the hour indices just not as bright, but, the glow still hangs in there at the dimmer level? Or, does it disappear to near useless after a few hours?
I sometimes let a less than spectacular lume performance slide if it can hang in there just enough. If all else fails, at least the hands should stay and I'd still be able to make out the time in the dark.
I haven't tested it at night yet because swiss watches tick to loud on my bedside table and it drives me nuts lol
This is a beautiful piece!
Luv the new color indexes, feel something special than my current one
With the release of the cotton candy and green hodinkee collab, both in 38mm, I’m pretty much banking on a 38mm option becoming a standard size in this lineup. I’m excited about that possibility because I found the 40mm wears more like a 42mm. A 38mm case would capture the classic skin diver sizing and fill that big gap between 36mm and 40mm that’s been hampering the D65 lineup for a while now.
Very true. I'd like a 39 cal 400 haha! You can see on my distance shots on the wrist its not to bad.
@@EscapementWatch Your mention of a 39mm version is what made me think of this. Either way, slightly smaller is welcome! My 40mm D65 isn’t bad at a distance either, but I’m always struggling with my close up perspective of this specific watch vs how it looks at a distance.
Pretty cool but it needs the new in-house movement. The ORIS/HODINKEE model has that new movement that would elevate this Glow to another level. I had two Oris 65 with Sellita movement fail in the past.
I think the lume on the hands doesn't match the lume on the indices to match the gradient effect on the dial
For over half the video I thought it was just a long lumed shot of this before I realized the indices were colored. Ok. Slow on the uptake here. Beautiful watch. 🙌🏻
ahahahahh that constant lightly lumed look is just so sweet.
Gorgeous watch
It is a stunner!
What's your wrist size?
I always say my wrist size during the wrist shot at near the end of the video. 6.5inch
@@EscapementWatch Sorry Bud. I was watching the video while at work multitasking and I must have missed it. My apologies.
It's definitely beautiful and you're absolutely right, I can see this becoming more popular.
Hope so! A nice new trend should emerge
Lol! I think they are just messing with you with that crazy response. I do think they make the colors mismatch on purpose so it looks different in the dark which I kind of like. Great review again and you should absolutely get one for yourself.
I think so too
Wow, that Oris is awesome! I want one. The Tiffany blue looks great on the grey dial. I need to start saving fir this one, the Seiko 39 mm panda chronograph and the Mido Patrimony blue dial!
I love it!
Thank you for showing the Glow next to the BB58. Great comparison.
My pleasure!
A great addition to any collection. I'm also adding something new and special, o have reserved the gs sbga415. I can't wait!
Right on! Grats bro!
where u get the t-shirt? :)
My company where I work my day job. Importer/exporter.
I have the green dial with bronze and I actually love it more than the Black Bay 54!
That´s a killer combo Bro but Lume is weak and dissapointing. I got the LE Bulova MIL-SHIPS and same thing with Lume and price tag is close to the Oris. Great review as a common thing in your channel.
Stunning Oris Diver 65 and great review but my eyes was on the left corner of the room all the time (wink wink) Tudor BB always on my list even I won't be able to afford it. Great video again mate. Cheers!
The bb58 is so good!
@@EscapementWatch That watch is a keeper! did you sold your SPB already?
Yeah bro the bb58 spolies me. Makes me think every watch is too thick. Lol. But the color wasn't doing it for me. So was thinking spb239 or wait for new colors because 239 is so close to BB58
@@EscapementWatch lol...here we go....need me to spoil you more with some wrist shot in insta? lol
hahah sure Its my fav 63mas! I made the wrong choice going with silver and shiny bezel. I never kept a watch so far with a shiny bezel I don't learn my lesson. But maybe one day! lol And yes you can get a Blackbay 58 mine took me 3 years of saving since day 1 2018 release! A little each month. Now I'm saving for a Grand seiko. Hopefully it comes faster then 3 years!
I know they are easy to remove but impossible to source say if you wanted to change the teeth from black dlc to black and the teeth in stainless steel which I wanted to do on my original 40mm reissue 😞
yes good point!
Do it. I’m about to with the steel band. So good in real life.
Interesting colourway, nice piece!
I think so too!
I’ve had my bronze for two years and three hour indicators have fallen off.☹️
I do love the watch though.
Just hoping it doesn’t reoccur now that the warranty is over.
Thanks for sharing. This can happen to applied indices. A good case for pressed ones in the seiko prospex divers!
@@EscapementWatch I have a green captain Willard that I love too!
Wear it most of the time.
So beautiful, I saw it today, you must buy and I too !
Buy it! I would.
Great watch i like it.
Thanks for watching!
The reason why the lume on the indices and hands doesn't match is because they come from different suppliers. Same reason when dials, hands, chapter rings, date wheels, and bezels are the same colour but do not match.
The lume on mine is terrible, but if you’re buying a Divers 65 for specs, then you’re buying for the wrong reasons.
The watch is just gorgeous looking and has an incredible charm.
Great review fellow enthusiast... the Oris looks good but you have highlighted the reasons for its price point. Sellita can make great movements... my Sinn U50 (SW300 calibre) is giving me chronometer level accuracy, like this Oris will probably do. I'm reluctant to compare it with the BB58 because they are in different segments of the dive watch market, but you're spot on regarding the lume... My BB 58 is SO easy to read at night... excellent lume and the snowflake hour hand make it really clear. As you already have a Black Bay 58 why buy this Oris? Save your money for the piece you REALLY want...
Well I don't think they're so similar that they can't live in a collection together. If Oris gave us the calibre 300 caliber movement like your Sinn, I think the price would be perfect.
@@EscapementWatch Then go for it and enjoy! What colour are you going for? 😀
I actually stopped watching Dune in the middle of the movie to watch this. Definitely worth it. Stunner ! 💯
You stopped watching Dune eh?? BRB let me check.... WOW 84% on Rotten Tomatoes!!! Big compliment then!
@@EscapementWatch But then I commented on the wrong video because of the stupid phone
oh ahah I was thinkng if Mike comments this again on another vid he has been hacked!
@@EscapementWatch Not yet brother
Excelente video 👏.
The best chanel abt. watches in the World - I believe. Best wishes and huge respect from Moscow.
Thank you so much bro!
Greetings comrade
You are absolutely right with the weak lume on the indicis & hands! it's not Glowing how it should be..
I have Aquis & I'd consider to buy the 65 but after that review i will not because - it's not perfect... ;)
and by the way Oris should be more modest,
we have alot of players out there.
*p.s- Kavar are much more costi than i expected on almost every watches.
take care.✌️
Kavar only uses the manufactured retail price given to them it is in Canadian dollars so maybe that's why you are confused.
@@EscapementWatch
Hello,
I buy watches in both my country and abroad.
I buy the watches long enough and know how to convert to any currency easily.
Kavar's prices are one of the most expensive on the store websites. And in addition to why you do not get from them a discount coupon code for people registered on your channel and it is strange ..
For example with such a coupon I bought a month ago from CW the C 60 white easily and efficiently with DHL to my door.
take care ✨
This watch in video is $2700 CAD on the Oris Canada website and that's what Kavar uses. Same RRP. If you look up all Kavar prices on the manufacture website it matches in Canada. They never do mark up or they will loose their right to sell. I usually say in my videos email me for a coupon code.
What a great looking 65, that dial just demands to be looked at. A modern classic. I have no issue with the SW200 movement at all either. A true workhorse movement that just keeps on going if serviced when it needs it and should be reasonable price as well. I can't justify (yet) considering a purchase as I have a BB58 black dial but I would love to see one in the flesh. The in house design 400 cal would bump the price a bit as well but it is a great movement in my Aquis 41.5 from my experience. I agree the lume could be a tad more uniform like the BB58 but I guess you could say it adds character rather than the Oris response. Keep up the great work Falling.
Thanks bro, will do!
Oris is elbowing its way onto the world stage. Who needs an Omega or even a Rolex?
Nobody does!
Yeahh Oris! Who needs Tudor 😜
This might just be the divers 65 that I get. I’ve always really liked them but there hadn’t been one that didn’t have one thing I disliked
I think you should go for it!
this watch is a complete contradiction... retro diver with few meters water resistence, mediocre lume and modern colored indices... but together it works damn good ... on my radar for next purchase.
Most skin divers don't go deeper then 5-10 meters. So this true 100m is perfect skin diver.
Don't know if I should get this and the Longines Sector or just get a BB58.
ohhh tough... two great watches or one. I think the bb58 is tops! So that would be my pick.
@@EscapementWatch thanks for tip. First world problem right lol
That's a nice looking watch. The aluminium bezel looks great..can you imagine if Seiko put an aluminium bezel on a watch at this price point tho? People would lose their shit.
Yes they would so true! hahahah Seiko puts steel and people still go nuts that its not ceramic
This watch is gorgeous. I actually like the way the hands and indices don't match. A bit like putting a brown strap with a black dial. Another great video with super quality.
That's a great point!
Beautiful watch, buy!!
Ignore that irresponsible reply
Agreed!
Hello, thanks for this review. I don't care about the watch name, they are beautiful. :))
No problem 😊
And you wanna be my latex salesman…
I prefer Aquis for Oris dive watch
The Aquis is awesome.
Buy it !!!
4th(technically 2nd)
Yes I'm usually first to pin another video but malkinmalone beat me this time...impressed
I really like this one 😍😍😍
Sorry but I TRULY prefer a "date" watch and better yet a "DAY&DATE" one. Even better... DAY, DATE, YEAR combo with a "stop watch" function we ith mechanical alarm too. Someone actually used to manufacture and sell one like this BEFORE the "DIGITAL AGE" dawned in wrist watches.
fair enough I totally get that.
I think you should buy a Lorier Neptune v3 rather than this. Great watch & around a third of the price!
Not to keen on acrylic glass
It really helps with the vintage late fifties aesthetic, I can see where your coming from but any scratches can be polished out so I don't mind it
I agree. I'd prefer a metal "click on" bracelet to the leather "belt-like" one.
At this price point, I expect stellar lume, nothing less.
So true....It is holding me back plus that reply
@@EscapementWatch
I fully understand.
It is a reply that gives the impression that they look down on their customers, it doesn’t make you feel like they care about what we expect from an expensive Swiss watch.
And honestly, I am a lume junkie.
Especially on dive watches, I expect strong lume.
Even my cheap Sumo will easily outshine this Oris…
I don’t think Oris carries the same prestige and quality as Omega nor Tudor
To the general public this is true. But they are an independent watchmaker who has a certain strut about themselves. And the calibre 400 movement is proof they can do great things.
I own both & the finishing on my bb58 is only slightly better that my Aquis. Tudor maybe has more prestige because they are part of Rolex & are a better known high street brand. However heritage wise Oris have been around longer.
It should be 200m. 100m diver watch is never ISO divers approved dive watch!
I immediately visit the AD after watching this video. But they only have the one you like on a bracelet. I think i like this one on a strap. It makes the aesthetic of the watch a real pleasure to look at. A real head turner for a not so hyped/expensive timepiece! Nice one, Oris! 👍⌚
I like a date. THis is beautiful !
It really is!
Too perfect? What kind of bullshit answer is that? The price they charge it should be perfect. I bought a 6105 8110 homage, also with a Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 for £250 (yes it was new) and the hands match the indices. I would return any watch with such a basic flaw regardless of cost. Still I appreciate quality more than some fancy name who can't get their hands to match up. Shame cos it spoils what would be a great looking watch. Nice video, thanks guys.
Haha yea that response you... described it perfectly
I like a lot the dial but diver with only 100 metres is not serious. ...is for that i necer buy iris even i like lot of models but 100 m is a bad deak fir the price bye bye oris
It's a skin diver. Meaning it's made for freediving. Most human can only freedive 5m deep.
Oris also makes a 1000m Pro diver I reviewed on the channel. ua-cam.com/video/P8Jnu15fu7E/v-deo.html
glow is no go
Unregulated Sellita movement, no bracelet, shitty lume, $2200? Ummm, no Oris.
That's the msrp AD price. I just bought one online a few days ago, brand new with box and papers for $1350.
Can’t buy a watch with that price with such poor lume.
fair enough, it does make an easy buy into a huge hesitation.
🌹👍
You need to learn how to pronounce élaboré
I'm taking French language study classes for this very purpose.
Have the oris in this size , it’s perfect size !!! Why does it have to become a 39 mm ??? It’s fine as it is
You cant overwind it ? ... and also, if you only wind it a couple of times, timekeeping will not be very good - wind it all the way and wear it, get the best results :)
No I've done it from empty with only a couple turns and amplitude is very strong and it kept amazing time. And the problem is not over winding it's if you wind it too quickly or too often the reversal gears strip and the rotor starts spinning while you wind it
@@EscapementWatchyou’re talking about the problem some of those movements can have, out of the last batch (1200 units) of SW200 I went though, only 7 of them has that. - but you do you, I will never ever not wind at least 20 times before putting it on :)
It will develop over time it's a design flaw as the material of the reverse wheels 2 of them are soft brass. So yes I'll do me. These 38hr power reserve fill up so fast with a couple turns.
@@EscapementWatch it’s soooo easy to feel which of them have the problem, they won’t develop over time if they feel sturdy at first with the crown pulled out.
No
$2200 for a watch with a Selitta movement? 🤔
