I think choosing the tactics deck was a good choice because it will show the importance of questing and having a high will.
Game on
Still an amazing resource all these years later for this timeless game
It's still in my colection!
I just got this since LOTR is a cornerstone of my childhood and wow, you really made the game so easy to understand. Thank you Rodney. 😁😁
So nice of you to say, I hope you have a fantastic time playing Simoun!
Awww younger Rodney. Bless his heart.
Ha! So young and innocent!
These videos are brilliant! The 'rules of play' book is so confusing (e.g. it says 'progress tokens' and 'quest tokens' interchangeably, agh!) - my partner and I were trying to work out how to play for 2hrs the other night. It's so nice to see someone actually play the game. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making these videos! I watch all of them, even if I don't intend to play the game. I love these kinds of games, but I always get confused by the rules because of how complicated they are to me. You lay everything out nicely and explain it in a way that makes sense and easy to pick up on. I can't wait to play my first round of LoTR LCG!
Really nice to know you're enjoying the videos and finding them easier to follow :) I hope you have a great time playing!
Thank you for posting these tutorials - The Lord of the Rings one in particular was so helpful in showing me how the game works.
Very good to know you found it helpful James - thanks for the kind comment!
Can't wait!!
Thanks for the quick reply, I will subscribe to your channel after this comment :) I have also just finished watching the last episode of this, you have inspired me to buy the game! Very well done for all of this, this includes the music, quality of video and audio and your fantastic game play with "very very small progress coins". Keep up the good work!
That's funny, picked this up yesterday and trying solo tonight and picked the same deck w/o seeing this vid first 3:06, starting off on the right foot, lol
these tutorials are great and you have a great personality that makes these easy and fun to watch
Thank you so much, that's incredibly nice of you to say.

+Garrett Leising Thanks so much Garrett!
Thanks so much for doing this! I love your videos..
You're very welcome - thanks for the kind words :)
Great video - thanks. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Wow, just got a like from Rodney (I guess) on a comment I posted 8 years ago 😁. I'm now complete 😂👍. Seriously though, that's made my day.
Great video, makes the rules easier it understand.
Thank you so much, I'm glad to hear you found these helpful.
Great tutorials. I m french, just bought it few days ago. Tried for the last 8 days to figure how to play( looks like the latest versikn of the guide is not the best.) watched some videos in french. Some are Good but not great ( sorry it s not nice to say this because the guys did those for free and thats nice from them to share). But honestly this serie is far above.great job. Thank you.
So glad this was helpful - I hope you can enjoy many great adventures now :)
Very simple setup and the art is soooo beautiful. And solo play is always a welcome for me ^^b
The game looks really interesting. Plus the fact that you can play the quests alone can pass the time great when you are bored. Last card game I played was L5R a while back and I might be getting in this one.
Thanks for the tutorials! I hope after this series I know how to play the game ^_^
You end up getting to try this game for yourself?
@@WatchItPlayed Yes I did. This is somewhat a surprise, getting a reply after 7 years! But I did buy the core set and a couple expansions and played the game.
I really liked it and loved the artwork.
@@es1vo One of my favs!
Just got this game... wife and I got our buts kicked. I hope this video series can help. Nice work Rod.
I love this channal
Thank you Kareem!
Great video!!! But I'm not quite sure of how many cards I 'm allowed to have in my deck. You chose the Tactics deck, so you got all of them. But what about if you choose two?
The minimum deck size is 50. You can have more, but most players find that the more cards you add to your deck, the less efficient it becomes (as it becomes hard to get to the cards you want/need in a given situation). Generally you want a small, efficient deck.
What card sleeves you are using? I'm new to this. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach.
+Michael Sabat I used Clear Dragonshields in this video - happy to help.
Thank you.
Great videos, in this intro which games are being shown ?
Mansions of Madness first edition, Wrath of Ashardalon, Small World and Space Hulk 3rd edition.
Rodney is there a reason you chose the tactics player deck? What if I chose two heroes from tactics and one hero from lore? Would I then put all the lore cards and all the tactics cards together to form one massive player deck? Still confused. Thanks
For the video, I just wanted to use a single deck, to help make it easier to follow for people, as I see the deck building aspect as something you'd likely do after a first couple plays. But yes, you could (and likely will) want to deck build, mixing 2 heroes from one sphere with 1 hero from a different sphere. The deck building rules you'll find covered in the rule book for the game.
Bowls! Why have I never thought of using bowls?!
Now that they have started to sell thé second édition, do you think i should buy somethig like The Hobbit Saga and other 1rst éditions expantions or i should juste wait ?
I don't really have a recommendation that way for you.
What does the card with the x mean where the price of the card is supposed to be
That will be defined on the card text itself.
What game am I seeing at 00:10 the very beginning of your intro
Wrath Of Ashardalon - you'll find a video for it here on the channel.
So I know that card games aren't meant to be played so, but would you say this game is pretty easy to do solo? I've heard rumors that say such.
JoeHooker11 This game can certainly be played solo. Often people will do this, using two decks, with one player controlling both.
Does the player deck only consist of cards with the same Sphere as your heroes?
Not necessarily, there are cards in expansions that can be attached to your heroes to allow them to use cards outside of their normal sphere.
***** But with the initial core set, you separate the cards that are in the same sphere as your heroes, and then shuffle those cards as your player deck - correct?
Manny Pérez Yep, although I combined two spheres, by having two Heroes of one sphere and one Hero from another sphere within the same deck. Just remember, the resources produced by a Hero can only be used to pay for cards from that sphere (unless, again as mentioned, you have some expansions that add additional spheres to the hero).
