- Preparing and staining hardwood Merbau decking timber that's been aged for a few months.
Using Intergrain Reviva and Intergrain Ultradeck in a Natural stain, a water-based product that is used on both these verandah posts and the hardwood Merbau decking. If your deck is reasonably new you would be wise to use an Intergrain product called Power Prep, however, because these were older decks I was able to go straight to the Reviva. - Навчання та стиль
Absolutely amazing! Looks really good
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice looking great 👌👌
UltraDeck stain (as with all modern stains) is just a plastic coating with plastic pigments, no oil penetrates or is left on the wood, it all evaporates.
Nice work and video mate.
The only thing I do differently is i only oil two deck boards at a time. It keeps a wetter edge and gets more even coveage if that makes sense 👍
Nice job
looking gooood!
Thank you! Cheers!
we just finished our Merbau Decking according to your video..thanks so much..it looks lovely and very nice looking. After a week of drying ,I found out it is still sticky and footsteps leave a mark on it. so, can we varnish it?
I'm not sure what you mean by varnish it? What product have you put on your deck so far?
Did you do the posts as well? Looks almost identical to my new deck so this is a great help for me to stain it, thanks!
Yes the posts are done also in the same product
@@ThePa1nterhowto Thanks, looks awesome! What is the brand of that deck cleaner you are using? I am looking at the Karcher Deck Cleaner attachments in Bunnings and they are far more expensive than $80!
@@conwaylewis2300 I'm not sure of the brand or price, its not an expensive one but does the job.
I renovated a deck using the products recommended and it looks great except the edges of existing timber look uneven. HOW can I address that? Thanks
For it to be even, that same amount of coats need to be applied evenly, its possible more or less coats were used on the edges. If its lighter, you can apply another coat or two ,always finish your joins on a corner or end to prevent this happenning.
Looking good. just use nappy san or the cheaper alternative as my deck cleaner. I tried all those acid based deck washes and they worked ok but no better than nappy san and much more expensive.
The builder specifies a product and then the Paint company guarantees the product, if we change and something happens, I'm out of pocket, better to use what they specify, the customers pay anyway.
@@ThePa1nterhowto That is true.
