Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Roland SH-01a Synth Cover)

- Note: not 1-to-1 to the original 2 sequences
My synth cover of "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics. Mainly done on my SH-01a I recently got
All sounds (except for drums) recorded live; used one vocal sample from the original.
I started with a basic sound and then synthesized it to get the classic synth sound you hear on the record.
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe!

I knew the video was gonna be fire when you pulled out the juno 🔥🔥
Damn, thanks a lot Ramyy!! Using another synth too now 😉😁
Elemnt that sequencer is awesome too makes such good rhythms
It’s a Roland synth too, SH-01a !
You’re soo underrated
Thank youuu! I’ll be posting more thorough covers in the following months 😉
Great, thanks! Now I have to figure out how to do it in a live band with just a DS61 and hope the drummer can come along for the ride. At least I'm only doing backing vocals.
This is so undoing so cool you literally need to make me a Disco beat now ❤️
Awesome job 👌🏽
Thank you! Waiting for your UA-cam videos as well :)

I agree! The moment Roland puts out a real Juno/analog synth out there that’s when they’ll be playing the real game. Now these are toys just for fun eh
Unfortunately this is totally unconvincing. Despite the original song was made with Roland SH-101 you didn't get the sound right. Also you've missed very important thing: originally the song has dueling bass line, i.e. two different bass patterns layered to left and right.
Not sure if you’ve heard until the end of my video but my sound gets really close as I “synthesize” it until the end of it. & yes, I know the original is double tracked left & right panned but I didn’t do it in this video. I don’t have the synth anymore so that is the take I got : P
@@thiselemnt Yep, tried to listen once again and compared to the original one-by-one. Actually at very end of your video the SH-01a starts to sound quite close to the original bass (from the right channel), maybe you just need to add just a little more resonance or brightness.
@@DmitryGorbushin thanks for your feedback! Yes I thought it would be interesting to start with a from scratch sound & get closer to the tone as the video progresses. I filmed this video & only after posting it I learned that the sound is actually 2 sequences side by side. I would’ve done it again but I didn’t keep the synth for long after. I still think it’s cool the synth can get really close tone-wise & I’m sure anyone can get it even closer if they record as you have mentioned 😇. Thanks for sharing your comments :)
