I believe an early interview with Reznor he said, he was always (sonically) really inspired by Gary Numan. Although Atticus Ross did alot of the programming. Atticus' music tastes are kind of everywhere. Genius programming btw! It definitely sounded "NiN-Esque". 👍

OB-EZ is just a slimmed down OB-E. you have presets & some control of the synth (filter, etc). OB-1 is a different synth, you have full control of it. I personally love this one, the sound is a bit more unique. I think they have demos, you could check out which one works better for you. But for me, as I’ve said, the sound of the OB-1 sounded nicer to my ears!

Yeah it’s just a quick jam. I’d go for Take 5 always; my way of thinking, if I want a digital sound I’ll use my laptop

I liked the quality of the vibe.. I realised the probs with laptops is your get too much choice with libraries and sounds. You end up chasing the dragon but winning a rabbit. Ill contact my Ozzy music shop and get the Take 5.

Yeahh I think the Take 5 is better! Ofc basically the same synth but the OB filter is less versatile (IMO) for wider ranges of sounds & genres. IMO I would still choose the T5 if I had to buy a new synth now Ah thanks! 🙌 Yeahh I can do a Stranger Things pack 😎

Sorry I don’t have the Volca Bass anymore to show, but from what I remember just the 3 osc on, 2 as saw at least? define them a little bit. That should give you a good starting point

I sold itt, I didn’t fully like the digital VCA, needed a more raw sound for a mono synth. Very versatile tho!

@@thiselemnt The PRO 3 doesn’t have a digital VCA, though … it has an all analog VCO/VCF/VCA signal path, without the effects engaged …

Oh I see, I thought I had read about it. In any case, I didn’t find it raw enough, I’m not sure why. I replaced it with eurorack a bit & the Moog GM. Bad thing I can’t save any presets tho ! 😅

@@thiselemnt I understand what you mean. All of these ‘modern voiced’ synths lack the heft/‘weight’ of vintage units … I’m not sure whether its related to cost-cutting … or (as I think is likely), an unfortunate side-effect of increased tuning stability 😕
