I wanted to thank you again for your royal icing and decorating videos. I made a big batch of valentine cookies this year to send people along with my handmade cards. I got so many comments about how pretty they were. My wife kept saying I was amazing (as she ate the ones that didn’t quite turn out 😂). Also the links were very helpful. My piping bags were much thicker and stiffer, so I ordered the ones you suggested, which made piping a great deal easier. I really appreciated all the help! 💜
I’m so glad to hear it!! You’re so very welcome!! The piping bags can definitely make a big difference! I just ordered some new ones to try that were much cheaper, so I’m going to see how they work!
Yes, thank you, Ryan! I’ve tried to make royal icing before but without great success. I think your video will help make my Valentine’s Day cookies much prettier this year. ❤️
Thanks Ryan- did my first batch today and my icing was still a bit too thick so will try again after watching this video. I love your easy manner and thorough explanation ❤
I've just discovered royal icing, and am in love with it. (So far all I've been able to accomplish with it is to eat it because I need to make sure the consistency is good. It's addictive.)
Thank you! I have a video “cake in a cup” with my buttercream icing recipe. I would use that to ice cupcakes. You could use the royal icing to add details, but it would be a different consistency and would harden, so I would just use buttercream for cupcakes. You can premade flowers and certain decorations with the stiff royal icing, allow it to harden and then place it on cupcakes or cakes…that would be an option. 🤗

It is so good!! And you can use it in so many different ways!
This is a great video, very informative. I was wondering if you can use this icing to decorate cupcakes?
