Love it!! Lettering in icing is my favorite and I have SO much to learn lol You mentioned the cookie dough got a little old in the fridge - that... might explain some of my cookie fails lol. How long is too long to leave sugar cookie dough in the fridge? My family recipe calls for the dough to chill overnight but sometimes I don't get to the actual baking for another day or two...
Thank you so much! I usually will leave mine in the fridge for up to a week. After that, the butter starts to turn a little off, so I try to freeze it if I know I won’t get to it for a few days. This dough also wasn’t wrapped up as tight as it should have been. It was very crumbly when I was rolling it out. I also should have probably used another egg when making this dough because I got some farm fresh eggs, and they were kind of small. I don’t know if that helps 😂 but those are definitely places to start troubleshooting if your dough isn’t behaving correctly!
@@bakingwithryan331 Brilliant, thank you! And when you say make sure the dough is wrapped up tight - I have been putting cling wrap over the mixing bowl and putting the entire mixing bowl in the fridge. Is that insufficient perhaps?
@@hey_virginia I prefer to take it out of the bowl, scooped directly into cling wrap, and wrap it up tight with a couple pieces. That way as little air as possible is touching the dough.
These are adorable. I love decorated cookies.
Thank you so much!! 🤗
