Yeah, for most games it's technically illegal, but I don't see how I'm expected to track down a N64 or the like, and games for it, more so if I want to play a rarer game. It's not like Nintendo's losing money if I emulate an old game instead of buying it from a random person.
The issue isn't how much it costs for us to access GameCube games, it's how much Nintendo makes off of GameCube games, read, nothing. They shouldn't give us WiiU games for free because they're still pulling in money from them, but right now the only way to play GameCube games is to buy them used or pirate them. Neither of those options benefits Nintendo. Yes, it would take labor to get a good GameCube emulator running on the Switch, but (correct me if I'm wrong) it wouldn't be that much harder than making an N64 emulator, and Nintendo would only gain from it after its completion, unlike with N64 where their VC sales on the WiiU would suffer a tiny bit.

Boblymon i do play both but one thing that i have felt during the matches is that the gameplay is slower and less like fluid then i jump to a cpu battle and its fast and fluid and the servers could really help
You already have to pay for 300$ the system, $40-60the game, the iCloud save, and then online play wow. Wow No other Nintendo console costs money for internet play . It feels like another pay wall.
Please for the love of god fix the freaking online we won’t pay for something broken and barely functional. We love you Nintendo, but you can’t keep screwing us over like this.
Yeah, $20 for the host to disconnect in an X rank match and make me *48* points for it. $20 for laggy battles in smash’s quickplay. $20 for mario kart 8, something we previously had for free. Honestly, the $20 wouldn’t be an issue, *if the service felt like it was actually worth it.* also, the fact that splatoon 2’s multiplayer is pretty much the entire game, then you make us pay $20 *for a game we already have.* Splatoon 2 players get literally *no benefits from this service.* Cloud saves? Nah. So basically, if your data get corrupted, you have to grind tons of hours(In my case, 1260 hours)just to get back to where you were. And honestly, other companies can give online games cloud saves, so why can’t Nintendo?
14 year old black kid from reddit I have very good internet and I still get laggy players It isn’t us, it’s the worldwide play function aka no dedicated servers like EA
Personally I dont have any problems with the internet. Sure it sucks having to pay for online, but it's only 20$ which is basically pocket change. I've also mostly had some nice experiences with the online. It works really well for me. If you want to change my mind feel free to.
Similar situation but when brother stopped paying and sold switch I had to set up my own cloud to continue online. Instead of all my cloud data being there…it was GONE. It was bound to the Admin cloud and not my own smh. I hate this cloud for that reason.
Thanks for reminding me why I have become 2nd front-line lieutenant of the PC master race, never thought I'd miss the Wii-U (hail to the PC master race! o7 )
I chose Nintendo because they offered a free online interface and weren't lazy when it came to bring us our classic games, I have become so disappointing in Nintendo because of switch online that I'm switching to Xbox. Xbox may have an expensive online fee compared to Nintendo, but at least they do a better job at listening to what people want. If we want to revive Nintendo maybe we should just leave them, if we do they will actually want us to come back which means they will listen to their fans.
I've completely switched (no pun intended) to the playstation because of nintendo now charging for online but I wont pay sony for it either lol. this coming from a day 1 wii u owner. they dont want to be the consumer friendly company anymore so f!@k them. they had their chance and blew it.
The only good benefits is playing online and cloud saves. Nintendo if you truly cared about the consumer, provide actual features on the Switch like ingame messaging. Is that too much to ask for?
@@alanzapreservationtheythem2861 but it's worth it because it has voice chat it gives you special offers with games that you actually want to play not PS1 games and more
Listen Nintendo. If you want to stand out from all the other game consoles, then don't follow their lead and at least make a service that is worth the 20 dollars. sure the NES games where cool on paper. but when you play them you then realize how dated ALL of the games are. so st least give us some snes games or JUST ADD THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE BACK. Why would you not want to do that? you should know by now that your old games from any of your consoles will sell a lot. give us Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and please just give us game cube support. I wouldn't even mind if it required having the game cube controller and adapter. if you keep doing this people will become discouraged from buying the switch due to the bad selection of supported software, lack of NORMAL VOICE CHAT THAT IS NOT DONE WITH A PHONE, Servers that actually work for every major region, and save data backup in all games.
Comet It's not like anyone wants Nintendo to fail, sometimes they make mistakes and people have to tell them, what if they had bad sales and nobody told them why? HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN???
Not even sure why people are so mad at Nintendo for doing the whole online paying thing while Sony is there with 5 times the price per year...
Because what the service offers is bare bones. On top of the actual functionality being unreliable.
Sony and Xbox actually use the money to improve their service. Nintendo just gives you the same online service that's what free a few months ago with an app that allows you to talk to people on your phone
EpicLPer Sony has more games and dedicated servers
Step one Pay for something terrible that was already free
Step two dissapointment
Doctor Doggo2 Step 3 realise Nintendo has no kind of refund system
At least I got splatoon. why have the amount of players suddenly dropped?

Its fine if you dont agree with the criticisms given to Online, but if you seriously that out of a minimum of 2000 people, not a single one is valid in their opinion and is just "blindly hating" on it. Then you are an idiot.

okay then

MAKE DEDICATED SERVERS! MY COLLEGE WIFI DOESN'T ALLOW PEER TO PEER!
F and L
Wait what do you mean they don't have dedicated servers?
THEY DON'T?!!
@@TheMAM Nope. They're too cheap to make them. The only games i can play online are Fortnite and Warframe since they have them.
Dedicated servers will not improve it
@@themonado5030 It would for me at least. I can't play at all without them due to my current circumstances

How about NO!
@The Internet is Always Crying You think that Nintendo is offering us a good service!? Things were better before Nintendo started this service. I don’t mind paying for it, but I just can’t support this when PS4 and Xbox offers more.
A lot of my friends use this and got together to make a family account for each of us this made service Cheep. I recommend you do the same if you want Nintendo online
@The Internet is Always Crying go on PlayStation or Xbox or even PC and then compare it to Nintendo we are not trying to sound cool we're just expressing I motion over something. If Nintendo didn't want feedback they would leave the comments off
Hey Nintendo; I kind of like what are you going for with your system, with the ever growing collection of games and stuff.... but please... Would you make the actual Online Service Better? We can't play Peer To Peer with a Membership
A Membership should have it's own server!
Nobody is buying it so they think we're confused
this is the best take
A lot of people have got it they won't be disappointed if they hadn't got it
How to get started with a family membership for Nintendo Switch.
Step 1: Don't
LMAO
Unless you want to play splatoon 2 or Super Smash Bros ultimate or any other online game on the Nintendo switch.
I just bought a Nintendo switch a few minutes ago with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and 2 GameCube controllers
Solicited ant 3 Don’t forget the GameCube adapter.
Want an applause 👏?
good for you
Ok
How much was it all together?
FIX THE ONLINE, NINTENDO!
randomdude476 - It’s fine where it is. What’s the need for fixing it?
MKFan3000 YT Have you ever heard of free cloud saves, cloud saves for every game, dedicated servers, built in voice chat, and SNES games? Look at what Sony and Microsoft are doing.
Dad Shoes Why can’t they find the fix to the cheating issues instead of not allowing us to save with the cloud?
MKFan3000 YT We found another one boys. We need a genocide for all these Nintendrones
MKFan3000 YT dedicated servers?
Nintendo, I’m Getting you for Christmas :)
Gun Rule - :)
Just don't get the service. And avoid mainly online games
Undertale Is out for Nintendo switch right?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@GunRuleTv Yeah, why are you asking?
this is so ridiculously complicated. i just bought a switch for the whole family to use. most of my kids are too young to have their own email. i just want to buy the games myself and they have their own profiles for their own save games and such. happy to buy online family membership.
Here's a thought: We wouldn't have to do this if it was actually free
To dislike? If you don't care either way, might as well help us try to get a better service.
@@RunicSigils disliking is far less productive than giving constructive criticism to help the platform grow. Nintendo needs infrastructure, and it doesn't happen overnight.
Just give us dedicated servers for splatoon and smash ahhhhhhh damn
Luis Gonzalez - Dedicated servers?
I legit don’t know what those are.
It means that everyone connects to a server. So if someone lags, everyone else doesn't have to suffer too.
MKFan3000 YT yea what soup said , what nintendo has now is peer to peer connection meaning that the players are using their internets to make the match stable if one internet is bad everyone gets affected , if you play smash online you know how this feels so we need servers
Boblymon i mean youre right but if that guy teleports but hes not able to do something but the rest of the players are having fun if you do peer to peer the match is just unplayable and youll never want to play again and you cant quit matches in this game but yeah youre right net code is bad but if we dont have servers for smash could really affect the community and not only that they should add more features to online light tourneys and squad strike its so dumb we cant play this modes online just nintendo never thinks about the online they are forced to put something online because now we are paying for it but we need servers or at least fix the netcode because a not all the people will buy a LAN adapter
Boblymon i do play both but one thing that i have felt during the matches is that the gameplay is slower and less like fluid then i jump to a cpu battle and its fast and fluid and the servers could really help
To those of you who didn't get nintendo switch online, you're stronger than me. I just couldn't stand the thought of no more splatoon 2
Same name... same problem...
Just about time, i was just talking with my family about the online family membership

Don't worry to give you special offers
Whatever happened to video games that just had DLCs you can buy and didn't give you a bill every couple of months.

Dear Nintendo,
I love you. But listen to your fan base, sort this mess of a service out and give me some of them sweet SNES games.
Regards
Please for the love of god fix the freaking online we won’t pay for something broken and barely functional. We love you Nintendo, but you can’t keep screwing us over like this.
Consumer Service guy for Smash. Don't be surprised when he gets announced; I told you so
The Internet is Always Crying what does that comment have to do with a fake Smash entry, you hypocrite!?
Thanks for teaching us how to purchase the dumb Service instead of actually fixing it.
0:09 thank you Nintendo. I was struggling trying to buy the family member ship. Thanks so much for showing me how to buy this thanks Nintendo.
Now I know how a family Membership works.
Nintendo: **uploads a vid on the online**

I’m not liking any of these until they make the online what we ask, and until they add NES games I actually want (Castlevania)
How many times do we have to tell you NINTENDO!
Nintendo: I like the young folks
wheres the "we are fixing our servers video"
Step 1:Do Not
Step 2: realise your friend wants to play Smash Bros with you online.
@@MrCrow-tl5tv
Step 3: do not be lazy and walk to your friend's house to play together and save 40$ on a trash service
Yeah, $20 for the host to disconnect in an X rank match and make me *48* points for it. $20 for laggy battles in smash’s quickplay. $20 for mario kart 8, something we previously had for free. Honestly, the $20 wouldn’t be an issue, *if the service felt like it was actually worth it.* also, the fact that splatoon 2’s multiplayer is pretty much the entire game, then you make us pay $20 *for a game we already have.*
Splatoon 2 players get literally *no benefits from this service.* Cloud saves? Nah. So basically, if your data get corrupted, you have to grind tons of hours(In my case, 1260 hours)just to get back to where you were. And honestly, other companies can give online games cloud saves, so why can’t Nintendo?
We have no online features in the Philippines :( meaning no Online Shop... No codes for Piranahh Plant.. No DLCs.... No customer support... SAD :(
What a great way to scam whole families, Nintendo.
Your Mom :D - Scam? How is this a scam?
MKFan3000 YT the online is GARBAGE.

What is your name lmfao
14 year old black kid from reddit I have very good internet and I still get laggy players
It isn’t us, it’s the worldwide play function aka no dedicated servers like EA
ImADanganronpaWeeb - I see nothing wrong with it.
FINALLY after 3 months
Step 1: Return ur switch from GameStop.
Step 2: get $20 from returning it to GameStop
Step 3: Buy Switch Onliiiiiiiiii......nnnnnevermind
Personally I dont have any problems with the internet. Sure it sucks having to pay for online, but it's only 20$ which is basically pocket change. I've also mostly had some nice experiences with the online. It works really well for me. If you want to change my mind feel free to.
Give us back for glory first. No way people want to pay to play on laggy 4plyr hannenbow with items
Rigby they fixed that in the last patch
BradOFarrell it’s better but not good
Big help! My brother bought a family subscription thinking it would for all accounts on the switch so I set up a family so we could all use it
Similar situation but when brother stopped paying and sold switch I had to set up my own cloud to continue online. Instead of all my cloud data being there…it was GONE. It was bound to the Admin cloud and not my own smh. I hate this cloud for that reason.
You know if you understand that multiple people are using nintendo switches in their homes.... then dedicated servers are even more important.
I will not pay the Nintendo onlyne because it's have the same bad servers
They don't even have servers.
You'd be paying for peer to peer connection which was free before.
I know but they meast up when they said that they are going to put the Nintendo switch onlyne and the servers are still bad
What servers? Oh you mean peer to peer
This is actually a very useful video, thank you. Just wish the online service was better in general.
Thanks for reminding me why I have become 2nd front-line lieutenant of the PC master race, never thought I'd miss the Wii-U (hail to the PC master race! o7 )
They need to take the Nintendo switch online membership away and let the users use it for free
Screw the online. I MUST HAVE THE SWITCH!
Psssst
Never getting this
Thanks for the help
This is the video I was needed, just in time, my friends and I are gonna buy this family membership and play , play and play. ! I love you Nintendo.
You'll get your customer when you FIX THIS DAMN ONLINE!
This is why I love my ps4
Nintendo's family plan is why you love the ps4? You have weird tastes, but whatever rocks your socks.
Officer Flat Foot the PS4 has paid online as well
Both are good consoles.
Tad Strange and both are using a scummy business practice
@@alanzapreservationtheythem2861 but it's worth it because it has voice chat it gives you special offers with games that you actually want to play not PS1 games and more
That toad at 3:00 in the upper right corner is destroying that controller (probably to mash trough text boxes)
I would not play him in a button mashing game
This is gonna be good connecting with friends.
More like Nintendo Switch OnLag.
20 dollars a year is honestly really generous compared to annual fees of other companies
Boycott Nintendo switch online
Grow up and pay for it.
Mr. Pokirby Leonardo Molinari is pretty grown up if they know to not pay for a poor quality, half baked product
Comet It's not like anyone wants Nintendo to fail, sometimes they make mistakes and people have to tell them, what if they had bad sales and nobody told them why? I want the service to be good and that's why I speak up, but at this point I can't give my money to them because that's telling them I'm ok with these practices
How? People will still buy it.
Comet Because people want it to improve. How did you not get that?
