I was having trouble downloading DLC before. I didn't even know the Eshop existed but thanks to this helpful tutorial by Nintendo I am now able to download DLC for games which I do not own.

This tutorial comes as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass service, with which you can enjoy a lot of benefits, like playing DLCs for games that you don't have and classic games that necessarily come with the pack.

Honestly, I'm very critical of Nintendo and oppose Nintendo Switch Online, however it must be said: The expansion pass is worth it now there are three major DLC packs included in the expansion, alongside the N64 and Sega virtual console bonuses. I may now consider subscribing to the expansion version because I don't have any of the DLCs - and £30 for three £20+ DLCs is certainly worth it, because once you beat the Splatoon and Animal Crossing DLCs (which let's be clear, you can do in a year lol) you'll have all the bonuses anyway DLC or not if you choose to unsubscribe. All I hope for now is for the Smash DLC season passes to be included eventually - I think it's somewhat plausible in the future. That would seal the deal for me and I'm sure, many other players.

I love how Nintendo spent both time and money to make a very simple tutorial video about the switch online plus expansion pack when that time and money could've been spent on making switch online a better service overall.

That’s not really true, the people designing the online service aren’t the same ones who are making the trailers and UA-cam videos advertising it and them not making these videos doesn’t automatically mean all the resources and effort would go towards improving the online (especially since many of its problems are things Nintendo did intentionally rather than unintentionally and have no desire to change).
But yes, Switch Online remains a horrible service with no real incentive to purchase it, used by Nintendo to monopolise the supply of decades-old content for further profit while offering players poor online quality (that they’re not using the profits from Switch Online to actually improve) and a selection of other rewards contingent upon your existing ownership of previous games so they can fuel purchases of their games while releasing DLC rewards that are only a good deal for those players that actually own the games while being completely pointless for other potential buyers. There’s a whole range of issues with Switch Online that one less Switch Online video on UA-cam is not going to solve.

Not only that they have the nerve to promote NSO. Even dare to increase the price and have family 'plan' or 'DLC benefit' but will be over once you unsubscribe from Premium even though you got them for free...the online servers are no better to. If you expect us to pay you need a VERY good online service and NSO isn't and the '+' doesn't do it any favors.

The stability update worked for my switch, it was able to prevent some fall damage, thank you! And the trick with the E-Shop is insane! I thought I couldnt play any games on my switch but this is really a lifechanger after 5 years
Nintendo if you want to make this online service really appealing I recommend adding GameCube switch online those games have aged incredibly well and would be perfect on the switch

Nintendo: We're not making as much money with our online service as we should does anyone know why?
Employee: maybe it's because we are over pricing it, not giving the consumers a good selection of games and rarely updating it to give them new games so they have no reason to buy it. Also they can just get it for free through emulation which is better because the emulation we use is worse then the ones you can get for free

So I agree with the points about lack of updates but over priced? Seriously?! NSO with the expansion pass costs less than 5 dollars a month - even just buying for yourself. Family plans make it even cheaper.
Calling NSO overpriced just sounds entitled in the extreme. You could probably pay for it with pocket Change found on the ground over the span of a month.

Thanks Nintendo for showing us how to download DLC. We don't know what the meaning of the letters D, L and C meant but now we have a better understanding. :). Nice to see how "user friendly" you can be sometimes! Like I never would have thought you first need to open the eshop and then search the game related dlc you want to download. Its crazy how helpful and to the point you can be sometimes! Please next time make a video on how to connect to your wifi. Lol.

Nintendo; hear me out: A cheap method of paying for online and only just online, maybe call it "Nintendo Switch Online Basic Pack"! _(The normal online is probably good enough, but I've had this idea in my head for too long and now this is an opportunity to say)_
They do. It’s just called Nintendo Switch Online. The most you’ll spend on that basic plan is $20/yr. I only paid I think 2.99 a month until I just didn’t need it. But I have a better idea: Nintendo could charge $50/yr with online stability, better online community similar to Miiverse but better, and freedom to back all your save data to cloud instead of some games, ability to private message and share screenshots or actual photos uploaded from your SD card, and themes. I could brainstorm some new ideas.
I only have to pay $20 every December and that's about it. It's obviously easy because of course I have a job and I save up my money and I only have to pay $20 and that's about it. I'm sure the complainers in the comment section are too stupid to even realize that

This video could still be useful for someone who just got a Nintendo Switch and/or a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The left and right options are different from each other and could lead you into getting DLC seperately by accident (even if the standalone price is the better deal).
No one is that stupid to not know anything about the switch and no one would check this up online everyone would figure it out by them self
@@Game_Wolf1509 Not everyone would know about the Expansion Pack having a seperate download for DLC. If you went on the Booster Course Pass DLC page before purchasing, which button would you see first? The smaller Expansion Pack one or the bigger standalone one?

If you can use Chrome extensions, there's one for returning the Dislike button & it still works.
Then install a web browser plugin that adds it back.

Honestly, thank you nintendo for this video. It actually helps because my little cousin got a switch and she's never had much technology since her mom has limited her for years now. Oh my god, if this tutorial didn’t exist I wouldn’t be happy, this tutorial really helped me because I was trying to figure out how to download splatoon 2 dlc and I was so confused. But because of this tutorial, I was finally able to play this dlc, and I totally didn’t know how to buy things from the e shop. Nintendo, always thinking of everything

Probably but that won't happen for a long time, I mean the WIIU came out in like 2012 or 2013 and the eshop is just now being discontinued

The DLC isn’t bound to the online Service, you just get it “for free”.
It’s not like the xBox game pass or something of the sort
If that's what you're concerned about, you could always just single-purchase buy whatever dlc you want instead.
They're not telling you this is the only way.
It's just one part of the Expansion Pak
