The late Tony Jay who voiced the Elder God voiced Frollo.
Tony Jay's voice was just on another level. I remember in Defiance when Raziel was confronting the Elder god going "you parasitc fraud - you're forced to imprison me because i possess free will" thr way Tony Jay shouted "YOU POSSESS NOTHING!!" Back at Raziel, i don't think his voice was ever truly appreciated.

@@Unknown_User174i know, it's gonna be very diffecult to find a voice actor of the same caliber to voice Elder God, i heard back then it was one of the reasons the series was put on hold, they'd be doing it a disservice.

I had to do a double take. Of course I wish it would look better visually, but I thought the franchise was forever dead. Definitely buying this remaster!

Yeah, that was a VERY WEAK SPOT the Gamecube had. No 3rd party games whatsoever for the 1st 4 years (unless it was Disney with their movie tie ins)
Actually, there was Blood Omen 2 for the Gamecube.

It would be so cool if they remade the first game in the series Blood Omen: Legacy of Kaine a lot of people overlook it in favor of the Soul Reaver games.

Wait a minute…hold up. Do thine eyes deceive me? Is this some sort of trickery? They are not; the truth has been revealed! How exciting: Raziel has returned from the abyss! Now the next generation will see why he mattered to me and so many others decades ago. Let us hope this does not disappoint us all.
Is Blood Omen available on switch? I want Blood Omen.
Not right now. The PC version is on GOG and the PS1 version will be on PS4 and 5 as a “Classics” release sometime in the next couple of months, but no word on if it’ll come to Switch. I’d like to hope it would, I’m pretty sure simply porting over the PS1 version with different buttons in the menus should be easy.
I wonder how many games we'll have to buy to get the whole series? I also wonder if they actually plan on finishing the story in the future?
Well there's only 3 other games in the series. So maybe there'll be a remastered collection of Blood Omen 1 and 2 or maybe a full on remake of Blood Omen 1 since it's so dated. Then that just leaves a remaster for Defiance and a possible continuation.

Yes, it does. I guess that's one of the reasons I loved those games back then. But the games (as well as the other Legacy of Kain games) were great even without those cool looking characters. It's a shame they didn't continue the series. I even liked the multiplayer game Nosgoth, despite all its flaws.
He's too pretty now lol. He was way uglier on PS1. He's pretty vicious though especially killin those wraiths.

I prefer the pixelated graphics of the Playstation. It's without doubt way better.
I think there's an option to let you change it whenever you want.
Oh badass, I loved this series back in the day. The voice acting was pretty solid for the time, even with the original Blood Omen in 1996.

This is a Aspyr port. Probably won't even be 60 fps on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Might be on the Pro if we're lucky. Lol

Switch 2 is supposedly gonna be backwards compatible (don't be an idiot and take that as fact), so it shouldn't matter if it's not 60fps 4k ultra HD 3700ghz for a soon-to-be outdated console

There was only one possible outcome - my eternal damnation. I, Raziel, was to suffer the fate of traitors and weaklings - to burn forever in the bowels of the Lake of the Dead.
With any luck, the rest of the series may get remastered as well, but what I’m really hoping for is the “unfinished” levels from SR1. I’d really like to play it as originally intended.

I remember renting this game from my local library, but I played it so much and never gave it back. Wonder how much I would have to pay for all those years of not returning it 😅.

Yes!!! Played these on Sega Dreamcast when they were cutting edge and it’s was brilliant. Been waiting a remaster for a long time ❤😊

Certainly one of the best voice acting in the history of videogames and an elaborate and profound story written so well... I wish they could do more with the graphics and hopefully they have touched the gameplay mechanics... But happy that a new generation can enjoy this amazing world!

I don’t think Soul Reaver 1 & 2 have ever been on a Nintendo console until now.
An eternity passed, and my torment receded, bringing me back from the precipice of madness. The descent had destroyed me... and yet I lived.
These were amazing games back in the day! Innovative, unique, with such an immersive story.

Pretty neat. Shame they didn't think to restore some of the cut content. Imagine how could that could be to play the game and then replay it but see the original ending and the characters/locations that would have been seen leading to it. Still, one can hope this might revive interest in the series.
Just have to hope they don't go and censor anything like they did with the Tomb Raider remasters. Can't imagine there's anything to change, but I know better than to just assume it can't happen when the last collection did.

I've never played these, but I've grown to have a fondness of late 90s early 2000s edgy stuff, and I've always been curious. This is a perfect opportunity!
The Legacy of Kain series, especially Soul Reaver is more on the philosophical side than edgy
Is it just me or did they brighten up the color palette too much? It seems to have lost a lot of the darker tone in the visuals that I assume was intentional in the original.

I know the studio wants to return to this game series but hopefully rather than a new entry, I think they should remake the first Blood Omen. Out of all the games in the series that's the one that needs a complete overhaul the most. And would be the perfect entry to remake and finally complete the circle for the Soul Reaver games.

Silicon Knights made the first game, but apparently lost the IP rights to Crystal Dynamics. (Plus that company doesn't exist anymore.) Bummer. And here I was hoping this might lead to a remaster of Eternal Darkness! I know it's not related to this, but come on Nintendo....do it!

This is a severe disappointment that turns out after all this time we're still not getting a director's cut to SR 1 especially where they could have looked into Nightdive's Shadow Man Remastered how to do a remaster with great justice when it comes to restoring cut content.

I still have Blood Omen on my PS3, Blood Omen 2 on Gamecube, only ones I can still play. I also have both Soul Reavers and Defiance, but not the consoles
