The best part of the song in the movie is that the audience was led to believe that Rachel McAdams would sing another love song in that moment, but instead she sang a song that paid homage to the place where they came from and the people they knew. That made the scene more impactful and more emotional and rightfully so, since the contest was all about representing your country/hometown.
It is a silly movie, but it's also got an incredible amount of heart. I truly believe this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and I literally cry every time I hear it. And that's fine, I'm totally okay with my Husavik tears 💓
The major plot point of the movie is the songs that Fire Saga has been performing have been Lars' (Will Ferrell's) songs, and they are catchy, but yes, kinda cheesy. Husavik is Sigrit's (Rachel McAdam's) song, and no one has believed in her artistry until this big moment when her song is finally performed. The moment is a celebration of Husavik, Sigrit, Iceland, and the joy of someone with true talent finally being taken seriously. It is so emotional and such a wonderful place for a comedic movie to end up!
I'm a 34 year old guy and it stirs something in me as well. Maybe it conjurs thoughts of hope for better times and appreciation of previous times. I'm not sure but for whatever reason I always get soggy eyes in a good way.
Being a 55 year old guy from Sweden, I reacted exactly the same as you did first time I saw it (I watched the movie) and then watched the same video you reacted to. Gosh it's so powerful and Molly's voice combined with Rachel's acting is amazing :-)
Björn Eidehall Molly was amazing, as was Eric Mjones singing Lion Of Love. Wow, Sweden should be so proud of these artists! Their voices and performances were perfection. Comedy is my favorite genre, so Lion of Love was a stand out for me from the Eurovision movie. I wish more videos would feature Eric’s fabulous baritone voice and Dan Steven’s inspired performance as Lemtov.
That’s actually damn near the perfect explanation for this movie. I expected to hate it. But I always give Will Farrel movies a fair shake. And this one absolutely had me by the end. Very enjoyable heartfelt movie
Strange sentence that considering Iceland is one of a handful of countries (including my own, Norway) that still has whaling fleets for hunting and killing for export to Japan, as early since as 2018 they where acused of killing blue whales, so they are not THAT gentle lol =) So the line should be "Where the whales should flee because of hunting people, from my hometown" but other than that awesome song and lyrics, one of the most beautiful countries on earth (again except from my country ofc Norway lol) =)

One of the most underrated Songs ever! This one has to be an Oscar Nominee, otherwise I'll never gonna believe that here are Humans rating it all! You Swedes can be proud as hell!!
The movie sets you up for the ending. All the elements of the song are shown in the movie. The connection between the two actors was hidden if you do not follow her. We stereotyped Will Ferrell and ignore his character strength. It all pulls together at the end. I always cry myself. The most beautiful song in the last two years.
I first heard this song shortly before my identical twin’s death. It has bonded and formed within me a deep emotional attachment. The seamless blending of a portion of the song in Icelandic is truly beautifully done.
Hey, the movie celebrates the unique event that Eurovision is. It is now one of my favourite comedies. Must watch with bunch of friends and then have singalong.
It is a ridiculous and silly movie but that song must be one of the best original movie songs ever. I get goosebumps whenever I hear it sometimes even emotional. It’s beautiful and her voice is stunning. How it ended up in such a tongue in cheek silly movie is mind blowing 😂
Thanks for your loving word of our singing Queen Molly!!!!..... and i doesn't usually like belting. Molly often sings in swedish but always with great and real emotions which is unusual in popmusic nowadays.
I saw the movie yesterday and the moment it was over I lowkey wanted to see it again. It's a great substitute for ESC abstinence. And it is silly and heartwarming af.
Please do watch the movie. It really is a funny and heartwarming movie. And this song in particular made me tear up and feel proud of Husavik and Iceland and im not even from there! 😂❤️
I havet followed Molly here in Sweden since she was little and she is just amazing! The US wanted to sign her up like a singer (veeeery much money...) but she said no because they wanted her to loose weight. Thats our Molly, money isn't everything! 🙏 I really hope she wins the oscar!
Never enjoyed videos with people reacting to music but the girl in this clip is lovely and great to watch. Rachels performance is very good. Mollys voice and the way she sings this beautiful song is absolutely amazing, I cant get enough of it.
I have to say I never 'got' the reaction video concept until watching this. It was great to see an unfiltered, heartfelt and honest reaction. Well done.
You shoud really react to the song”Rosa himmel” by Molly Sandén from the Swedish Netflix serie ”största av allt/quicksand”. Such a beautiful song as well
Fun fact, she had done multiple voices for Disney movies and Disney Chanel shows. She is doing the Swedish voice for Teddy in Good luck Charlie and rapunzel in tangled

But after that 2 weeks I saw that video about Rachel and Molly that makes me so surprised because I also love Molly too. She is amazing artist.

Well imagine if this came out in theaters and you went expecting to see a comedy, only to leave in tears because it ends with such stellar beauty......
This girl Molly is awesome. She once had a million dollar contract in the US, she could have been a big star but she said no after the americans told her to loose weight and change her style and be more like a diva. She packed her bag and left and moved back to Sweden.

I think watching the movie and watching this song at the end is more powerful. Because you can understand the song better in context. She is singing about him and her in love.
Just discovered this song since I watched ”Eurovision” like an hour ago ☺️ And I just read that Molly is nominated for an Oscar for this song (Go Sweden 🇸🇪). And she is performing at the Oscars with the song at 25/4. And.... Guess from where? Yes! From Husavik !!!!! 🇸🇪❤️🇮🇸

You must watch Fire Saga. At first I didn't want to watch it because I thought it would be too silly. Fortunately a friend urged me to watch it and I fell in love with it. It's a love letter to Eurovision.
It's not really the type of music I've been listening to in recent months, but when I watched this and heard this I literally had goosebumps as well. 😅 I think it's also the way they set the scene up. Plus it's a really lovely and powerful song too. 😁
I don’t normally watch reaction videos but I really loved yours to this song it’s such a beautiful song and sang so beautifully! As far as Rachael seeming like she’s singing it is because she was singing! the Director told her to sing and they did play back and they mixed a little bit of her voice in with Molly’s so that each of their songs sounded a bit like Rachael‘s voice enough to pass it off and then in the live version during the Eurovision although her mic might not have been on she was really giving it her best so that it came across so well in the movie. When people lip-synch it always looks like they are faking it so a good Director has you actually sing.
Yes which is why I suspect that the song wasn't attributed to Molly in the credits but instead her "My Marianne" middle name as the voice really was a hybrid. Supposedly Rachel's version was pretty good as well and together their voices have an ABBA-like merger into a single voice that is just a bit more raw than Molly's more perfect natural voice. By the way the "speorg note" at the end is artificially lengthened. While Molley has an impressive voice she can only hold that note for about half as long which is still impressive!
Great reaction. As a swede im really proud of Molly Sanden. The movie is really funny aswell. Stay safe

Sagolikt! 💝
