This is Molly Sandén’s own Eurovision moment and she literally won it. Point, blank, period. She deserves to go to the actual contest and with the right song, she can win the whole thing.
I lived in Iceland for a couple of years (1977-1978), plenty of time to be blown away by the phenomenon that is The Eurovision Song Contest. It has been impossible for me to fully explain it to my friends and loved ones. My children were thrilled with this film and want to have a party to watch it again as a family. I told them all about the elves 40 years ago, so they finally believe my stories. This movie made me miss Iceland. I'm making plans already. Special shout out to the Cheerful Twins!
Watching the movie, when she hit the chorus, I was like 'Oh yes' and when she hit the Speorg note, my hair stood completely upright and took two days to lie down properly.
Ok, never been a Molly fan. She is a big deal here in sweden and have a great following, but never been for me. However, next year we are sending her.. period! She are worth it, and we are worth it.
“Húsavik” is such a beautiful song - it definitely deserves some kind of recognition beyond the film in the way of awards season (fingers crossed). It’s like “Best in Me” (2020 France), the ballad-y part of “Undo” (Sweden 2014) and the “nothing holding me down” section from “Zero Gravity” mashed into one. Outstanding work.
I lost it during this song. I was a mess crying so hard. Is a beautiful song, meaningful, passionate. .. I loved it!!!!! Is a masterpiece for me. And, seriously? Am I the only one who loved Will's part??? I loved it!!!! I think it gave that extra to the song since they were meant to be a duo. I really loved it.
I hadn’t seen the film when I reacted and when I saw this in the film, it actually gave me goosebumps! It’s such a lovely song. Best one on the soundtrack. 💗
I grew up in a small town in Tasmania that doesn't exist any more. I really felt this song and can totally relate to it. It had me in tears when I watched it in the movie.
The best part is when Will sings with Molly... "In my home towwwn. my home townnn!". I sing that part to my wife with matching Will accent and she gets so annoyed. :D
I actually started considering going to live in Husavik, Iceland after I watched this movie. I want elf friends that go to far for a bottle of Flóki whisky. Hope they have good internet coverage in that little village.
I really do like Will's voice together, it accentuated it in a minimalist way and was not overdone. I loved the song and would love love love to see Molly have her moment next year
Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls / Where the whales could live ’cause they’re gentle people / In my hometown, my hometown...my GOD!!!! Beautiful!!!!
To me its a no brainer that in Eurovision 2021, in the half-time break they either do a selection of Fire Saga songs, ending with Husavik or they do a longer version of Song-along, or of course both, they have the time. SO many Eurovision fans will have watched the movie and loved the songs that they will seriously go crazy if they do this. If they don't, then they are missing a huge opportunity, what do you think??
Let´s vote that the entire cast of "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" as an interval act in 2021 would be a great comeback for Eurovision! Thumbs up if you think it´s a great idea! Eurovioson - we miss you!
@@erikricardoboscolo4779 i acsully still have no idea what she's saying when she first sings in icelandic ( im icelandic) but the other parts i understand...kinda
When Lars sings it's him being humble, actually. He realizes who the real talent is, and that he'd dam' well better support her as best he can. Does the music need him? No. She does.
Love this song. I had goose pimples all over my body and tears in my eyes when I heard it. It's a perfect song and deserves whatever awards are given to Netflix songs. Great job, Molly Sandén!
This was imo the best song from the movie. I was so mesmerized by the song, also Molly really needs to go to Eurovision, I didn't know she was this good. :D
Is it bad that I love A Million Voices? I've only been a fan of Eurovision for the last 5 years but I'm kind of in my own world about it. I get the impression that a lot of fans don't like ballads? And that's like my favorite part of Eurovision
I had tears running down my face when Molly Sanden was singing in the movie! I sought her out and watched the uploads over and over again on UA-cam. Eric Mjones as Lemtov’s voice was amazing! 😎. The songwriters deserve huge praise for their efforts. I am obsessed with this movie and did a ton of research on previous contestants to find the inspiration for various performances. In North America we are mostly ignorant of Eurovision so we missed the brilliance of the writers and featured Eurovision performers. I had no idea who Salvador Sobral, Jamala, Alexander Rybak or Conchita Wurst were... I didn’t know the inspiration for the hamster wheel was from Mariya Yaremchuk’s 2014 performance of Tick Tock. All those details just sailed over my head, so many people here may not appreciate the movie as much as they should. They’ll just think it’s another funny Will Farrell movie, but is is far more than that! Dan Stevens is a comic gem as Lemtov! I think Dan was echoing Dima Bilan, Sergey Lazarev as well as Philipp Kirkorov in his performance, which was so brilliant! If you haven’t done it yet, go watch Eurovision: The Song of Fire Saga! 💕
A few goosebumps, but not a single wet eye. This song gave me quivering lips and teary eyes. I've listened to it a couple dozen times in the last 2 days.
Jeez people the last note is TWO notes in octave and is a reference to Icelandic throat singing, check it out, also Will Ferrell spent 20 years getting this made, it wouldn't exist without him, let him have his moment in appreciation of his tremendous "euro" vision.
I absolutely love it. You know when they make new musicals these days and none of the songs ever stick. This one did!!! I even added it to my play list.
I can’t get through this song w/o crying. I first heard it, just about the time of my brother’s death (we were/are identical twins). The imagery created in my mind of the word lyrics in the song are just to powerful. They are freeing; ascending up into the heavens where dreams are born and back again to where those same dreams are made real.
This is really an excellent song... It gives me goosebumps like crazy! Idk Icelandic but the fact that they included some for the musical integrity of the artist is beautifully humbling.
It’s also important to the plot. When he sings “Vera með þér” (To be with you) he’s reciprocating her feelings at last. That’s why he had to be on stage with her, and sing his part too. Otherwise she’s just confessing her love again with no pay-off.
I really love this song, but I also love how they decided to conclude it, not do the cheesy movie moment where they break the rules, but because it's so beautiful they win. I love the conclusion, it was probably the best way they could end it.
OSCAR! If bringing tears to your eye is not a factor, what is? I hope she wins. P.S. Will Ferrell makes her shine... If you never had a bad day in your life, your best day would not differ.
I almost never get goose bumps from songs, the last time was like when fast and furious 7 came out and i heard See You Again for the first time, this song did it, i am now down to 1 day without goosebumps (i watched it yesterday)
Aw, come on now: the Will Farrell bits are clearly intended to remind you of his sweet, corny, near-disastrous character traits and all the resulting craziness led up to this. Just watch Sigrit turn to him, reflecting back his love 100%. She doesn't mind. It's a song for the movie, not a standalone work (though having heard it just now on BBC Radio 2, it does work, just with a tiny bit of tweaking). I think it says something that they didn't get anybody else to sing it during the credits.
I hope Iceland win the Eurovision song contest next year after this fantastic movie. That would be amazing! This song would have won if it was a real entry in the real contest this year (which sadly did not take place due to covid19). It's beautiful!
I got those goosebumps too. I feel bad for the people who don't feel that, it's actually a biological phenomenon that only 50% of people are able to experience. When she hit her high notes in the Waterloo cover was good too, I had a chill go down my spine.
I’m so sad that I cannot visit Husavik, because I am from the U.S. and people can’t get it together here. I actually started paying for lessons in Icelandic because I realize everything I’ve loved through my life is from Iceland, Sigur Ros, Bjork, elves, and now this song and Husavik! I hope some day in the future I can travel there when I’m fluent.
I love Icelandic language as well. It has some similarities to Swedish and Danish, but it's more quirky (of course). The toughest part when you learn some will be finding anyone to speak it with--there are less than half a million people in the world who speak Icelandic.
This is Molly Sandén’s own Eurovision moment and she literally won it. Point, blank, period. She deserves to go to the actual contest and with the right song, she can win the whole thing.
She tried a few times but didnt suceed unfortunealy
She said that she doesn´t want to be part of it. 2016 when she was competing in Melfest, she felt that it was wrong.
Avec Will Ferrell non? 😂😂
with the popularity she is gaining after this she will more than likely get to go next year
If Iceland actually did win then It actually would bankrupt the country just like said in the movie
It's an Oscar worthy song... let's hope!
I'm a mess. I'm crying. I'm sobbing. I instantly downloaded the song after I watched the film. Brilliant.
Me too! Lol
Ya it's an amazing song. Movie was so so but this final song was so good :)
I downloaded ja ja ding dong
Ditto!
Me too !
I literally cried when i heard the song until I heard Will Ferrell’s voice on the background.. then I laugh and cried at the same time.🥰
Same :)
Same here😭

There is a "new" with only Molly

I look for this comment in every iteration of this song. I love it.
Play jaja ding dong!!!!!!
I've had this song on repeat since my first listen ❤️
Shit me too
This song made me want to move to Iceland. The whole movie did. I’m not American so maybe I won’t be hated on 😁
Watch out for elves.
The same here for me ! I'm Canadian and want to move to Iceland...''Where the wales could live cause they're gentle people'' Awwwwwwwwww !

When I watched this movie, I was in pure shock of how good this song was!!!!
Molly Sanden didn't win Melodyfestivalen and Eurovison but she won the movie... Waiting for her flying Swedish flag in main Eurovison finally...
Melodifestivalen*
I hadn’t seen the film when I reacted and when I saw this in the film, it actually gave me goosebumps! It’s such a lovely song. Best one on the soundtrack. 💗
in an interview, Molly Sandén told about the first time she took the high tone when she was little she got oxygen deficiency and saw stars
Adele is never happy 😂😂
She won 2020 Quarantine Eurovision. This year goes to Iceland/Sweden 😂❤❤❤
Molly Sanden has an unreal voice.

The only sad thing about this song is that it cannot enter real Eurovision to participate bc it's out of the limit date, it would get pretty high imo
I really do like Will's voice together, it accentuated it in a minimalist way and was not overdone. I loved the song and would love love love to see Molly have her moment next year
This would totally get 12 points from everyone 🇮🇸
Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls / Where the whales could live ’cause they’re gentle people / In my hometown, my hometown...my GOD!!!! Beautiful!!!!
I cant make it to the whales line without choking up
Its similar to Never Enough, but i love them both!
What a tearjerking song
The breath after the high note is such a perfect ending!

I'm curious over the accent of Molly in her rendering of the icelandic verses. Did she actually pronounce the word correctly, given she's swedish?

Some countries allways send ballads and thats probably why people dont like it.

Am i the only that’s annoyed about Spotify using “My Marianne” (her middle name) for credit and not Molly’s artist/real name Molly sandèn Lol
Kjellberg 6762 they did that because My Marianne is her Icelandic alter ego (no idea wtf that`s about but apparently that`s the case)
Molly said herself she wanted to separate it from her usual persona as this is a completely different type of music than she usually does nowadays.
