You know, I’ve been watching you for years, definitely a different speed than what I’m sure a lot of your subs expect, but I’m enjoying this new content man. Keep doing you and hope it gains a lot of traction this year for ya🙏🏽💯
@@MaxForrest i'm not watching all of these reviews but i sure watch enough of them to call myself a fan. i like how concise they are, to the point, but still relateable and gives a good idea of the movie.
I've been pleasantly surprised with Max's movie knowledge and taste, it really explains how he was able to make such unique yet consistently cohesive and technical creative content back then. What a gem of a creator, and what a wonderful show to watch this is. Even if Max leaves audiovisual production forever I wouldn't be too mad :) Congrats on pulling this together you guys!
Hi Max, been a fan of your channel for years! I like the change in scenery with these movie reviews. Hope all is well with you and your family. God bless. 1:54
28 Days Later scared me as a kid because of the running zombies. Especially how the zombies would just swarm into a house so unexpectedly and without warning. Still gives me the creeps.
As a lifelong zombie-fan I really enjoyed 28 Days shaking the bag up a little. But I have to be honest, "rage virus" was not the origin that kept on giving. It's nearly impossible to use it without being completely derivative over the standard undead zombies, and Garth Ennis' "Crossed" comic is the only think I can think of that attempts to use it.
Nice review chaps. As always, Unpretentious and succinct. I didn't go much on twenty eight weeks later though Robert carlyle was great as the fixated zombie. Love and best wishes for the year ahead. Greg S.
I'm with you Max, 28 Days Later is my favourite horror movie, also worth mentioning is John Murphy's amazing soundtrack really helping set the tension.
I don't see how it was cliche' it changed the zombie genre forever. We went from aimless drooling zombies to angry running infected. It made the whole zombie genre more tangible. Also saying it was cliche is a farce, These survivors were trying to make it out of London (the infected zone) how else would you have written them? a series of home alone traps and tricks? (actually that would be funny) but then getting to the cab to drive to Manchester for survival. I don't see how that is cliche or dumb. Yes the father stands underneath an infected but he didn't know that nor did we, It is story telling. The story drastically changes from them fighting infected to humans. The change in enemies shows how humans are the real enemies just like George A Romero Night Of the Living Dead Where they shoot Ben (the Black man) at the end of the movie. Maybe there is a connection to Ben and the infected they had chained up. At no point did this movie feel boring or unoriginal or a cheap rip off. I respect your opinions but I feel you are wrong on this one. (not you max you understand)
Yeh, I wasn't a fan of the fast "zombies". For a bioweapon, imo and for the sake of the movie exist just for artificial tension. The Dawn of the Dead remake in 2003 did this better and explained it better. They had fast zombies, but as they would tear their muscles through exertion and decomposition, they would eventually get slower; so you had a mix of slow and fast, and actually served the story and the stakes in the plot. Happy new year, gents! 🎉
One of my favourite films. The two parts I didn't like, you didn't actually mention (spoiler alert), the candle in the parents house was a very stupid mistake that cost one character their life, and the taxi driving on the roofs of the other cars... But it's a great film. I love the fact that they just asked early morning commuters to not go on the bridge in London so they could get that one shot, they couldn't actually stop people but they told them it was a low budget film and offered them a cup of tea, and they got the scene
You're right, we left out discussing those scenes that show how reckless the characters could be. Overall I'm very happy with the review though. Thanks for the intelligent feedback!

Also, Jeremy Renner was really good as an aim for the U.S market.
'Unpretentious & Succinct' Thank you for the kind words. Happy New Year!
I had no idea it was shot on a handheld camcorder. It's really interesting that they're doing something similar for the upcoming sequel.
Just watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. I cant believe it took me so long to finally watch it
You might as well review Shaun of the Dead next.
that would probably be in a TOP 5 favorite video
Holy shit I totally forgot that was Murphy
hair transformation every cut
