  • Angelbird is an Austria-based company that manufactures memory cards and SSD solutions. They were kind enough to open their doors and host us for a day where we got to see first-hand how memory cards, card readers, and custom-made SSD recording solutions are being made.

    Wow. I had no idea that they were made in Austria. I just thought they were another Chinese manufacturer. Seeing their operations has given me a whole new level of respect for their products. Thank you for the short documentary. I always enjoy your work.

    Don't understand how they can keep the price at a competitive level being such a small company and doing a lot by hand! Nice video, i'm definitely fan and using their products.

    6:08 - almost 11 hours of 8k 60fps footage. hard to imagine how much memory this would take

    Thank you so much CineD. Loved the whole video! Great job showing us where those little and reliable cards and SSDs are made, but most of all the faces of the people who work there and make those great products. Cheers from Italy

    We have several Angelbird drives that we use with our Atomos recorders and we love them. They are reliable, easy to use and seem like they are solidly made. In fact, I probably won't switch to another drive unless there is a compelling reason. Nice report. Thanks for doing it.

    Truly, this is the best part of watching UA-cam. Great content; thank you. Subscribed. Getting ready to buy a card. Glad to support honest, hard working people in a democracy, instead of buying from China and thereby strengthening the godless communist dictatorship in China.

    What gear you used to record that episode? (camera and lenses)
    It was your x-s20 and sirui anamorphic (in some footages)?

    • @CineD
      @CineD  3 місяці тому

      Hey @TheTomaszF. Yes, the "anamorphic part" was with a SIRUI lens, otherwise, if I recall correctly, I use the trusted SIGMA 18-50mm f2.8 lens (www.cined.com/sigma-18-50mm-f2-8-lens-for-fujifilm-cameras-review-and-bonus-meditation-video/). Thank you! Johnnie

      I did search in our system but could not find any task or conversation about your mentioned case.
      Can you please get in touch with our support team so that we can get you sorted?

      @@romanrabitsch348 I purchased these a few years ago (4 years ago if memory serves me) I threw them away-purchased a different brand from BHPHOTO. They were inexpensive enough and there is a trust factor that(for me anyway) is very tough to get back-especially when it come to my clients media. I’ve been lucky enough to not have a single issue with SD cards, except Angelbird. We had issues on a CFast Express card in a Red Komodo we rented, luckily we had an external recorder as back up. I may use them for personal use, but for my business, I’ll stick to another brand.

    Interesting video, but I do have to protest your statement regarding Austrian trains. While 2nd class seats are not super comfortable, they are not that bad. First and business class seats on the other hand most definitely are at least as, or even more comfortable, than seats on Japanese trains.
