    What about plumbing water lines, vent stack piping, and electrical wiring on exterior walls? How do you work around those items?

      You install conduit before the concrete pour.

      so what happens if you need to replace it?

      Sony This is just a thought but you could install an outer sleeve that the conduit goes thru. You couldn't remove the sleeve but you can slide the conduit in and out. Proper planning is important. Hire an architect I need work.

    ICF is extremely good at providing high levels of sound insulation thanks to the 6" or 8" solid concrete core

    Depends who you talk to. We've not had a single reported case of any insect infestation in over 15 years of building with ICF in the UK.

    It discusses Expanded Polystyrene Forms then he calls it ICF. So please explain if it is a combination or is This is EPF or ICF?

    Hi, just wondering, can you use precast concrete slabs for the upstairs flooring in a two-story dwelling with a basement?

      You would probably need an engineer to assess that. The guy said they can quote off plans so easiest thing would be to get in touch.

    I am curious about the cost of using icf. How does this compare to the concrete metal forms, whereby, the forms are removed after use. Say, on a 20 by 30 structure with 9 foot walls for just the basement, what would the ICF cost?

      they won't and could be very very expensive that is why it is not popular

    I have not seen a roof window that has not caused some type of problems, including holding wet leaves, small limbs being trapped.

    What they don't show you is that you need massive bracing and scaffolding to keep the blocks from blowing concrete out at the seems and trying to keep your walls straight andsquare. Plus, bugs love the Styrofoam.

    how does the cost compare with a traditional build?

    • @that0guy9
      @that0guy9 6 років тому +2

      I was talking to the owner at a trade show the other day. He claimed it was a similar build cost to a traditional block construction. It's difficult to say if this is true without getting a quote.

    Don't be fooled. Unless you like cartoons, NEVER buy a structural component that is only demonstrated in ANIMATION.
