Unique Stair Neighborhoods In San Francisco's Backstreets
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2018
- Among other things, San Francisco is known as the hilly city. There are 48 named hills, many of them running up and down various neighborhoods. Some hills are so steep that instead of a paved road, the early city founders built stairways instead. And yes, there are houses located on some of these blocks. They are a very unique hallmark of the city and are fascinating to check out for those wanting to see a more off-the-beaten track version of SF. Here are my top 7!

Shoutout to viewer Matthew whom I ran into at the Filbert Steps filming this video. It was awesome to chat with you and I hope you had a great rest of your trip!
This video is really great, shows some of my favorite neighborhoods in SF. I really appreciate the effort put into making this :)
Had fun filming it!
Same here Jeremy! Way to go zeene!
Absolutely incredible. I used to live in SF but didn’t know they existed. I’m exhausted just watching the videos. Quite a workout.
Great way to get your steps in 👍
Zeene InRealLife
Very true.
Very cool video vlog
When I visited last year my first thing I did was explore the city on foot. And I found so many cool ones!!!
Thanks that was awesome ❤️
Yay you're back🤗
Halloooo! Actually all the China/Vietnam stuff is from the summer :-P I'm just doing the editing verrry slowly. My goal is to publish one summer trip and one SF video a week but I haven't been super successful so it's ending up one a week. Gotta pick up the pace! Thanks for hanging in there despite the content jumping around! 💕
Great video thanks ….
Great video. Thanks for the wonderful info. I'm a new SF resident.
Awesome! Welcome! Please do share if you come across any interesting places :)
Really helpful vid! 2006 first year back I wanted to visit the famous wooden staircase to Macondry Lane used in Tales of the City. Foolish me started walking uphill from Fisherman's wharf all the way up steep Taylor Street! I could have just taken a 30 bus on Columbus Ave and walk a few blocks.
Ack! That's quite a workout!
Very informative.
Thanks! Hope all is well!

It's an eleven-minute walk from the Two Concrete Slides at Seward Mini Park. goo.gl/maps/F6ALGgBy3qi82aXPA
Nice video. Did you know about the Lincoln Steps? At the end of California. Pretty badass
Thanks for introducing me to it! Beautiful but the climb looks pretty hardcore. Will have to check it out next month when I hit the Lincoln Park golf course.
Never realized SF had wild Parrots, that's amazingly cool.
Go early in the day to catch them!
I bought a SF stairways book, one of the walks is in this area. I love history so it makes for an extra long excellent experience.
@@reddy2travel492 Super cool! I didn't realize they had a compendium on SF stairways but makes sense. I wouldn't mind getting one of those for myself. 👍
Zeena the book is San Francisco Stairways walks Urban Exploring 9th edition.
I just got the book a few days back and realized that it is outdated, some plaques are no longer there and the very first building has changed.
Good luck
There are 35 walks spread out across the city. Who know one day we might bump into each other just look for a guy with a Panasonic GH5
just kool
Thank you for the entertaining and informative video. On my last trip, I saw some steps leading into the Marina District on Chestnut St. Do you know the name of those stairs and what neighborhood they connect to?
Hmm, Chestnut dead ends at The Presidio to the west (leading into the garden at Lucas Arts complex) and cuts across the northern part of SF to the east ending at the base of Telegraph Hill. Is that maybe what you saw?
Thanks for showing us the steps! They look like a fun and beautiful workout. However, if you could please refrain from high speed shaky cam in the future, it would be greatly appreciated. It made me motion sick. I had to close my eyes.
Sorry!
Breathtaking video leaves me winded.
😂 Climbing those stairs left ME winded!
It’s a free workout : thanks San Francisco!
God, I love SF. I’ve been a total of 50 times.
hi zenee love your little show....rich info what about popos as a theme? private owned public open spaces...and maybe a joke about the cops...maybe cop sidekick but dont explain it lol popos!

@@ZeeneInRealLife hi zeene
well i went through a stage where i was researching them and i went to 2 or 3...i think the only one i liked was 1 kearny...twas an interesting transport- retranslation of the city...i think i am only interested in the high ones ..i want one just for reading or meditating
how do i add you add as a friend....i had other sf theme ideas but dont really want to communicate through comments
I'm waiting for the one at Salesforce Transit Center to open! That sky terrace should be fantastic. To add me as a friend, click on the speech box icon in the upper right and click "add friends" to get a link you can paste somewhere in the comments. I don't really like this method as it's still pretty public so you can find me on Instagram "Zeene In Real Life" follow me and then DM me. That is much more direct.
The fog !!! I love the fog !!!!
