I’m getting into CS to be software engineer in my college this year and planned to work abroad. Coding is fun because I also wanted to be a game dev. In my current level, it’s going to be hard for me, but I hope I’d reached my goal.
I’m actually quite torn on this one… As someone whose background is in math, but is doing a PhD in computational astrophysics, where I have to make use of high performance computing to simulate collisions of black holes and extract gravitational waves’ signals, I do think that having the math background puts me in a better position than someone coming from a CS or even a physics background. It’s certainly easier for me to pick up knowledge about computing and/or physics as I need it than, say, someone from a CS background learning what a Lorentzian manifold is…. That being said, CS is a great choice for sure, and it would’ve certainly helped me get a job earlier in my career…
Listen to me man, you have something good going on here with this UA-cam channel. Keep up what you’re doing and pumping out videos. Great setup great quality great topics, I really enjoy these videos. Thanks.
Debating here whether i should keep going with CS or switch to Mechanical Engineering. Is CS as hard & time consuming as mechanical eng.? and why is it not considered an actual engineering? isn't engineering solving real-life problems? Or do engineering fields solve "harder" real-life issues?Because i'm not really sure why it is not considered an engineering major in the US. Also,it seems like you always need to keep learning where as mechanical engineering seems that once you are done with school you are done with "updating yourself".I'm kind of lost so if you could correct me or help me on any way i'd REALLY appreciate it,i'm stuck right now, thank you in advance to anyone who could help me!
Hello Keep on Coding, I love your videos especially the ones that you are making fun of different software engineer personality types and the most recent with a you being interviewed by a startup...lol. Well I would say there is no such thing as best majors. I always think STEM majors, allied health majors, paralegal majors and business majors are excellent choices.

100k internship what?! Well I made a good choice😃 I am studying java for almost a year and about to start my second language. Should I start looking for internships soon?🤓
I'm currently using Java in my full-time job but I feel that taking computer science major is an opportunity to find new possibilities. Do you know which Europe countries are the best for CS degree?
whats better CS or software engineering? what are your jobs? i heard most people who do Cs become software engineers anyway so should i do software engineering?
@@Memeaic If I could do everything again, I'd go for Software Engineering. It really depends on the school/program, but speaking in general terms, some CS programs have hardware courses. You won't need to know that stuff if you just want a job coding in python/java/javascript etc. Also CS has a lot of theoretical courses you won't need (such as theory of computation for example). SE has more practical courses, with more projects that reflect real industry projects.
@@Meroknight but CS also has aritifical intelligence which could be useful...i wanna do software engineering but i heard CS opens more doors than SE, and maybe there arent many professional SE teachers in my country..but i dont know, i wanna become rich tho, what would u recommend me?
@@Meroknight why would you go for software engineering tho..you got 3 jobs because of CS...and i heard Computer science degree is more valuable worldwide compared to just software engineering...is that true?
@@Memeaic Computer Science might be more valuable worldwide, yes. Because CS has both software and hardware courses, so it opens more doors if a position has hardware requirements. And Computer Science does have Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as optional branches. Well then, I guess it really depends on what you want to do. Tbh, I just code in Java and Javascript, with some usage of MySQL. I don't get into AI or ML at all. I never took those courses. So, for someone like me, SE would have been perfect and all I would need for success. It would have been easier to not take those hardware-related courses, some of which include physics. Where I live, San Jose California, USA, Software Engineering is as valuable as Computer Science to get a job as a Software developer/engineer. What is your area of focus? Just SE? Then go for SE if you want an easier time getting the degree. SE will prepare you more for real life projects in SE, than CS will. Now, If you think you can handle CS courses, and want some theoretical and hardware courses, and maybe get into AI, then go for CS. Its harder, but there's more branches to it. Also, SE's in general, will be better prepared to code and pass initial interviews than CS majors will. SE's code more in their coursework.

I have low grades in class 12 , i really need help over how to get admissions in good universities , in what percentages ranges they accept students , i asked uwindsor (in Canada) they said above 60 % ur eligible to get in but doesnt guarantee you an admission but above 70 % u r more likely to get admission or else i could take undeclared major 🤷🏻♀️.. whats the normal gpa required for cse undergrad in public universities in USA ?
So launching your own start up is not as easy as people make it sound. Most start ups fail, and that’s usually entirely true for small business across America as well. Business is a whole other avenue even with high in demand tech skill’s. You really have to be a entrepreneur for that pathway, and hustle like it’s life or death with your back on the wall. Otherwise enjoy working for someone else for the rest of your healthy days.
I graduate in 1 year with neuroscience. Is it smarter to take community college courses in the next year and double major in CS after graduation or take classes and apply to masters program (at a public school)? My goals are to use coding/programming and go into Neurotech/AI just something similar where there are intersections kind of like biotech but centered around Neural networks, brain machine interphase etc. Basically the future lol
Hey brother, that was a great video! Thank you for creating it. You didn’t mention it but did you earn your bachelors in computer science as well as your masters? Thanks

I've just completed my 10th class and m thinkin to go for CS. But, I've come across a lot of reviews saying that programmers have to work for much time and lose interest to work as the time passes.
Thank you for your support
Low stress unless you're in the game industry :)
Lol never get into the game industry they say
Do you know, whether I can get US internship/job, if I'm from another country?
I’m only looking into because of the pay .I’ve heard programmers have more time for hobbies as well , is it true ?
Listen to me man, you have something good going on here with this UA-cam channel. Keep up what you’re doing and pumping out videos. Great setup great quality great topics, I really enjoy these videos. Thanks.
Agreed 👍
I always think STEM majors, allied health majors, paralegal majors and business majors are excellent choices.
lol gen business sucks.
Confidence 📈📈📈
I feel like with my 4 years of software engineering program in my highschool, I’ll do good in college
I like your videos,I feel you put in so much effort to produce good quality vids . Keep up my friend!
Is it still ok for a guy who's about to be 25 with a wife and a child to go to college for a CS degree ?
Yes man for sure go ahead ! Don’t overthink
The best time to start was yesterday, The next best time is now
learn to code first
Your never too old for anything
Waw you are my namesake of recent I started to have the feeling to be a computer science student. I hope this place will be a good start. Am from the Gambia, thanks for the info
Closing on my third year in CS, 2 more to go :)
i tought its was 4 years
@@dogaccnararat9040 In my country we have 10 semesters = 5 years to get Masters degree.
@@antipainK just wondering, which country?
I am 12 years old and I started taking a course 4 months ago
I started python after scratch for 2 months
Start looking for a job BEFRORE you graduate from college. If you know a decent amunt of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript you will get a job.
I applied for computer sciences and i am now officially a computer sciences student
would you recommend the new macbook air with the M1 for programming? I would like to excel in web development, cyber security, mobile applications and perhaps video games, (considering that I'm just starting)
Take linear algebra, calculus, and discrete mathematics. Understand these courses I promise you will ace the agree
100k internship what?! Well I made a good choice😃 I am studying java for almost a year and about to start my second language. Should I start looking for internships soon?🤓
Note that’s in San Francisco, where the cost of living is ridiculously high. $100k in SF is equivalent to about $37k anywhere else in the country
You should master data structures and algorithms because those types of questions are asked a lot in software engineering interviews
@Wellington Agreed
What do you think is better to study if I want to work as a software engineer should I study computer science or software engineering?
companies like cs degrees more
I'm currently using Java in my full-time job but I feel that taking computer science major is an opportunity to find new possibilities. Do you know which Europe countries are the best for CS degree?
Germany England Dutch
Pursuing Master in computer application ... Excited 😁
I graduated in 2019 in C.S., and have 1 full time, and 2 part time jobs lol. All remote.
whats better CS or software engineering? what are your jobs? i heard most people who do Cs become software engineers anyway so should i do software engineering?
SE's code more in their coursework.
thanks for your vids man!
Biggest regret in life: my previous degree.
what was your previous degree
@@edwinperez7050 great question
I am cell and molecular biology with concentration in Bioinformatic and I want to do my master in computer sciences because I know that the master will give me more opportunities in bioinformatics that a master in bioinformatics or biology, I want to have better skills
I'm going to major CS. Get a job in the bay area and then move to nyc. I wanna travel different places as well so a job that can have me remote sounds pretty epic.
What is the difference between computer science and software engineer? (It's not a joke, I'm just somebody from the outside)
I know you live in the US, but is it the same for people in Canada?
ye i agree but .... math ...... mathh ...... mathhhhhhh
Let me know when you're ready so I can join you
Hey brother, that was a great video! Thank you for creating it. You didn’t mention it but did you earn your bachelors in computer science as well as your masters?
Thanks
No, He mentioned in this video that he started his bachelors with social science as his majors bu than changed it to international studies
Woah, amazing video! Extremely informative :)
I am very happy u said that u weren't good at calculas because i have calculas 2 exam and its hard af
Thank you for guiding us...
I don't have a laptop,i am 18 yrs old and i want to learn programming and development can i learn it without laptop
How are you not popular?? Well done videos and useful information. UA-cams algorithm is trash
Plenty of UA-cam creators like him, he doesn't bring anything new to the table
I am student of economics and I love CS just I think about a best offer to do what.
Did your International studies degree (what I'm in now) Help you in any way regarding your computer science degree?
I’m really thankful for your video, it makes me relived cause I have a degree in psychology and I wish to study cs , you really helped me thanks
I am confused about choosing computer science or software engineering 😩😕
What should I choose??!
Pretty much the same thing (maybe a couple of different courses). My university doesn’t even offer Software engineering. I would go with CS
In my country. Its hard to apply things with your experience. People still value your bachelor degree higher than your master. Which mean. Our core to get hire is base on what your bachelor degree is. Sad
I've just completed my 10th class and m thinkin to go for CS. But, I've come across a lot of reviews saying that programmers have to work for much time and lose interest to work as the time passes. Also, they say that you lose the ability to learn anything and lose the job after a few years. All this makes me feel doubtful abt the career. Suggest please
Man i love those lights can you drop a link so i can buy some. Keep up the good work it tough out in these UA-cam streets, oh then i work up on the Dev Street it left me speechless.
"I did not have to take calc 3"... yeah, well my uni has calc 3 has that as their requirement.
That first part only applies in US not in India 1:29
Just got accepted to SJU. I’m 21 and gonna be studying CS and haven’t been in school for 4 years any tips or things you would change just starting off
good luck
Bro can you tell what is object oriented language
thank you it helped lot
"...you don't need to be as good at math as you think."
Can't tell you how amazing that was to hear, as I was thinking about switching majors for the fear of math alone!
I am in second years of cs. we do not have a lot of math and it also depends of who is teaching you that class. the last math class I took was calculus 2 and it was so easy. the teacher made it simple the entire semester. I suggest you to go for it, and I can also help you with math whenever you want.
@@stevewankou209 Wow, that's really awesome of you, man. I appreciate that! I will stick with it and do everything I can to make it through!

Love the positivity in this video! Question for you or (anybody): I graduated with a BS in Biology and want to get into CS. Should I go back and get a CS bachelors or masters?
2:20 ... I'm in my second year as a CS:Cybersecurity student and I cant find a dumb internship
I agree with you and I don’t even have a computer science degree.
OMG i was worried about math alot thank u bro
This is not the best career path for everyone. Only do this if you have an interest in solving problems, maths, etc.
