I too have an issue riding in large groups - they are often in a hurry and go really fast to nowhere. Instead of enjoying the ride, it seems groups like to rush through the ride. Also, I noticed that you are riding kinda hunched and not erect with your back. Look at how cops ride, they ride with their back pretty straight - which allows for quicker response to necessary maneuvering and handling of the bike in the event of road debris and autos that can cause accidents. If you ride a cruiser that is the biggest difference I've noticed in the riding style over sportbike riders. I grew up in the area you were riding in and also went to the Univ there in Tucson. I ride a Roadking and BMW R1200 RT and love 'em both dearly. I enjoyed your commentary whilst riding and love how you keep your eyes ahead of you on the curved roads. Stay and ride safe and look ahead! thank you for sharing!
I wish I could double like this. Arizona is stunning. Moved here from Oregon, and can't leave. Incredible motorcycling and central location to get to beautiful motorcycling roads and views. You just dipped your toe in the water. The trees and climate are here, Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff, the White Mountains. Down the hwy 60 through the gorge, between Globe and Show Low, Devils Hwy, Route 66, Oatman, Lake Havasu to Parker along the Colorado river, Tombstone, etc, etc.
A little constructive criticism if you don't mind. It would be nice if you could explain how the bikes perform when you do these type of rides. Suspension, brakes, handling, etc. All I learned about this bike is that it has a huge engine and it feels comfortable. Thanks in advance!
Hi! Thanks for sharing part II! I am in love with Triumph and it’s great to get the insight of someone that has never ridden the brand before. Happy that you had a safe and exciting trip! Looking forward to your next post. Be well & safe travels!
LOL!! I much prefer riding alone too - unless I’m riding in a group and I get dropped. That was hilarious. Thanks for sharing your experience. How cool.
Damn that bike is way too quiet stock. I don't like loud loud bikes, but I like for people to hear me when I rev a little bit. Your little giggle makes me chuckle every time. I love it
You review is the best review I have watched when it comes to conveying the essence of what it actually feels like to ride. Sure, we generally need to know the statistics, but to feel the soul of the bike is (in my opinion) what riding a bike is truly about. Thank you.
"This thing feels like I'm sitting on a rocket ship". Never a more appropriate comment! This bike is indeed the size of a ship, with the speed of a rocket.....Bib, England. Rainy England.
I am from Ontario, Canada and have had some of the best rides of my life around Arizona. My brother lives in Vegas so I have rented a new Harley almost every time I went there and we did Vegas, Arizona and California. Beautiful rides through the mountains and along the ocean. I appreciate how well you handled that beast of a bike. I am a short guy so I don't think I could get it off the kickstand.
I'm a sport bike kinda girl, but gosh DANG those are some BEAUTIFUL bikes!! What a beautiful, beautiful ride, too!! Hope you had the best time. So happy for you!!
Wow! That looks like my old neighborhood while living in Phoenix, Litchfield Park actually. From my condo to the White Tank Mountains, about 45 minutes, I would ride to the top of one of the higher mountains. I bought an '81 Yamaha 850 Midnight Special for $1000 at a garage sale; and sold it in Maui, HI, for three grand. I would sit there, make a cup of coffee and eat a bento type meal. Timing the ride became perfect after a couple rides I would sit on the mountain as the sun set. Arizona offers spectacular sun sets (most likely due to the air pollution in Southern California). If you ever return to Phoenix, AZ, take Hwy 60 to Hwy 89, stay on 89 through Prescott, Jerome, Cottonwood, Sedona...OMG, it's a rider's dream...then onto 89A to eat dinner in Flagstaff and return on I-17. Make sure you take an extra layer or two for the trip down the mountains. I learned that the hard way.
Yeah, the GT is our kind of bike. Thinking of buying it. My only issue is the controls. They are too close to the bike. I got to twist my feet in in order to brake or to shift. Can’t wait to get my bike out tough. Here in Montreal is to cold. Still snow and cold weather to come. Can’t ligaly take it out before the 15th of March anyway.
i just got my first rocket just 3 months ago. it's a 2005 with stage 1 chip, intake, exhaust. you're right, these things are just BEASTS!! I got mine up to 150mph once. whoooo, man it was amazing. don't you just love riding a bike with that torque? Hey you'll have to let me know if you get one. I get around the country, maybe we'll be in the same place one day. i don't know, just a thought. I need a new riding buddy.
I love AZ. I will be retiring there. I only visited it for 4 days last May, but fell in love with it. Rode only 1 day there, but NEED to go back!! Deserts are magical. The beauty of them doesnt come through in pics and video-its something you have to experience in person.
I like the rocket 3, but the rear of the new one is more of a sport bike style, kinda like the Harley fxdr. Not a big fan, myself. However, the older ones like the one Shadetree Surgeon rides, is awesome. Glad you had a blast, I know I would have.
Cool to see @DoodleOnAMotorcycle. I was watching this and thought it looked like the same event. The Rocket III looks like a lot of fun. I think I would prefer the mid control version, I don't like forward pegs, too hard to stand up over rough bumps.
You should have gone up Mt Lemmon, although there can be snow that time of year. I live a couple hours north in Fountain Hills. If you want trees, go north to Flagstaff or up on Mogollon Rim. Which is Pine/ Strawberry Happy Jack, Clint's Wells, etc. Trees up there, altitude too. A good place to go in the summer when the valley heats up. 30 degrees cooler up north.
Those darn Canadians, always trying to sneak into Mexico :)) Looks like an excellent adventure in the desert. That Rocket 3 is a beast! Glad you enjoyed it.
Riding conservatively, and stopping for Every stop light, shows that you are a Professional Rider/Biker. 😀😀👍👍 You ride your bike the same safe maner you would drive a loaded semi-truck, and that will always earn high praises from me. 😀😀 I would always feel so safe riding with you. 🙂 Just enjoying the ride and scenery with your own thoughts, is the most relaxing. I really enjoy your channel, gives me lots of ideas for my second UA-cam channel. 🙂
@@HerTwoWheels, me neither. 😕 I ran with "The Pack" of other Harley riders way back in the day, 2006-2008. They usually treated it like a land speed race, and I found myself outside my comfort zone at 70-75+ with my Sportster. 🙁 I didn't care for that much, and being left behind. So I took to my own pace. 🙂 Anyway, I always had forward controls with my Harley, definitely made a difference in comfort. Try them with your Dyna! 😀
I've always avoided the big group. 6 or so is my limit. I don't go on longer trips. I like to go sportster around. Year's ago, I was asked why I don't ride my bikes to work, I said "Kinda takes the sport, outa Sportster. "
It seems like a nice ride you are enjoying the open air, I like the way you don't get rocked very easy when things don't go right, because shit happens.
The Triumph Rocket 3 is a polarizing piece of craftsmanship. The bike is much lighter than expected. Triumph has been hitting it out of the ballpark with their bikes. Competition drives the whole industry. Lots of choices.
Looks like you took hwy 83 towards Sonoita, its definitely more enjoyable when not having to worry about others, especially through the twisties. Beautiful ride through the country though. 😊
I've had the opportunity to live in many places around the world, but Arizona holds a special place in my heart. I especially love the Payson/ mogollion rim area, if I could I would live there! Just FYI I am originally from South West Michigan, but no longer live there.
I have owned my rocket 3R for a little over a year. I’ve done cruises, curves, long rides and short rides. The bike does everything that I want to do. People always come up and ask me about how fast it is, but there’s so much more to that bike than just the speed, it is truly a riding experience. I have not ever ridden the GT version of the rocket and I saw that you rode the demo of the GT. I was just curious how you felt at the end of the ride, if it was still comfortable or you were at your limit for riding it that day.
I've never understood how people can see the "beauty" of living out there. I was stationed in Albuquerque, NM for a time and my little brother was stationed in Phoenix, AZ for a period as well. Coming from northeastern Indiana, neither of us cared for it. The other thing I didn't care for was that it seemed to take FOREVER to get anywhere! I guess because there's just nothing in between Point A and B. Though it probably wouldn't take QUITE as long on a 2500cc Rocket! WOW! I thought my Yamaha Eluder was big at almost 1900cc! Not sure if it's her, but Doodle went through several bikes and failed MSF classes in a short period a few years ago. I stopped watching her 'cause I felt like she was just trying too hard to be vlogger and not the safest person on two wheels. Maybe that's all changed now. Peace and love.
@@HerTwoWheels - I just checked. Yep, that's her. Seriously, some of her first videos a few years ago were very concerning. Looks like maybe she sorted everything out. I really felt scared for her safety. Glad she's still with us.
I just moved to Phoenix and I love the desert view. There are plenty of areas with trees and grass, but I love the mountains, plateaus and cactus vibe of the place.
YAS! Day 2! :D lol I am the opposite, I love my Honda Shadow, but the forward controls just kills my lower back lol I feel like I'm folded in half XD I'm very much a mid controls girl ;) The stock Tiger def makes you lean forward a bit, but Risers normally fix that problem. lolling at you AND Steve Kamrad getting lost XD Thanks for taking us along! PS. GIRL we need to do like a Lady Motovlogger Death Valley or Mojave "Winter Trip" in the future lol it is SO beautiful and it's like the perfect temperature Late Feb/Early March
WAW WAW hey you nice girl waw you did it !! nice to see your skills and courage to get on that monster !!! very good nice video !! yes that bike is THE only one mega bike ! (yeah, I do NOT think about the Boss Hoss, that is not a bike any longer ..... lol) ... I had one, the new 2012 R3Roadster till 2015 and I had the best most fantastic times of my bikers life (I am 72 now and would like to have the new one !!) .... that bike is a nice monster, a brute one but so cool and zen because so balanced and reassuring !! just be the one in full control, do not think it is a toy !! this bike pushes you into the one only present moment, you no longer think about futur and past, just the NOW zen moment of real life !!!
Best part of the whole video is at 3:40. "I was like yeah buddy you bet your ass I'm going to hold on tight." Pure Jess. That is what makes you so enjoyable to watch.
I am so glad that Triumph and Indian are doing well. Iconic brands both and reintroduced to the market in such a spot on blend of technology and classic nostalgia. Too bad about Norton.
The old rocket the crankshaft spun same direction as the wheels turn... now you have a crank facing a different direction in the frame ..does it Corner better to the left or to the right because of crank rotation and RPMs on turns?????? Kind of like the Moto Guzzi does anyone know????
Very cool...!! Looks like a really nice bike. It would be the Bonneville for me. Just an old-school dude. Glad you had a good time. That rushing around would killed this old man. LOL 😎
nice job handling that motorcycle; i have had my 2014' Rocket III Roadster since 2015 and it has been an awesome bike the newer one here has the same torque but more horsepower and is lighter but I still prefer the original- it sounds better and looks better in my view. The engine is absolutely flawless that inline triple is like riding a bull. Anyone looking for a good bike recommendation- You just can't go wrong with owning a Triumph- performance and styling and affordable.
I have a feeling that rocket 3 would get me from 0 to the scene of the crash in a big hurry. Looks like a fun way to go though. You did great with your coverage! When you have beautiful surroundings sometimes the best thing you can say is nothing. We’re living vicariously through you. Glad they invited you and you were able to go. I can’t wait to take on the badlands and black hills this summer. Before sturgis of course.
Looks like Triumph made significant changes to the Rocket. I would like to see Triumph take this engine and make a full touring machine. I would rally consider that for my next bike. Looks like you are enjoying Arizona. AR is a bit too hot for me in the summer, but has great scenery. My wife and I have lived in five USA states and Paris, France. Nothing like living in different areas to experience different approaches to life. Thanks for posting. Ride safe.
Very cool you made it to Az I live in the southern part one of my favorite rides is down south to Tombstone then over to Nogales I ride on a Road King.
I'm glad I watched this video . I cant believe how clear you sound in your biltwell , I've been debating on getting bluetooth setup for mine and hearing how clear you are I can finally say I'm getting one
Could I ride threw the winters somewhere. Do you have an idea. Camping for 4 mouth or stay in Michigan and watch it snow. I just bought a 2018 Yamaha Eluder. Its bigger then the triumph. Cool bike though. Your teaching me. Thank You
I've ridden the old rocket owned a small block boss hoss but this new rocket is for me way better. i'm only 5'7" tall with out boots and its not a problem for me, both feet flat on the floor unlike my old speed triple !
i just made a trip from lafayette la, to casper wy at the beginning of march, literally the 2 days you were doing this i was running across the country 1500 miles in 32 hours.I would LOVE to have a 2020 rocket GT
I live in Phoenix I’m glad you enjoyed your trip here . If you ever come back again leave time to to take a trip to Sedona and Flagstaff. And other areas north of Phoenix.
Looks like you had a wonderful time and such an great experience. I've only rode Harley's and one weekend a Honda Shadow during the MSF course. You need to visit Colorado to see mountains!
i approached triumph in atlanta to see if they would want to sponsor me riding around the country with several cameras live streaming to a website, but alas, they said not at this time and not on an '05. I was like, dude, put me on a 2020. but then this virus stuff started, sooo....... I just love riding, would love to do it for a living. I once went right through hurricane Isaac down here when it hit baton rouge. missed the eye by about 15 miles.(on an 03 honda shadow spirit 750)
I so enjoyed this video. I had to pause a few times to daydream about the coming riding season. Can’t wait until the weather breaks. I’ve got the itch. Man Arizona looks awesome. July might be interesting, but just beautiful.
I have my keyless either hanging on my neck or in a small inside pocket with the papers. Never an outside pocket that is used all the time. Oh, the tyres must get very square too in Arizona..
What became of the lost key? I recently locked both sets of keys in a rental car trunk, needless to say, 3 hours later, after waiting for roadside assistance, I get in. The 2 sets of keys were tied together on a hard wired key ring.
Keyless bikes... a solution for a problem that never existed! Also I love that you didn't run the light it's not worth it. Great videos, amazing views!
yeah, if it were just a smidge red I would have done it, but the fact that almost 8 people inform of me ran it while it was 100% red, I was like "yeeeeah... I'll just stop" haha
i'm laughing at your expressions of 'oh my god'. for the first month of riding all I could say to myself while riding and talking about it was that there are 3 phrases I kept repeating - oh my god, jesus christ, and holy shit.
So glad you had the opportunity to visit my home state. Such a variety of terrain and elevations. Come back from Ohio next fall or spring and check it out. Enjoyed you testing the various motos. Take care.
And that is exactly the reason why I don't ride in big groups I'm glad you didn't run the red light ,we still need you
Owning a '17 R3 (2300cc) and then jumping on a TFC version of the new rocket, the difference is insane. I thought you couldn't get any better than what they had but they far surpassed all expectations
Love the sound of the Rocket 3 rumble under acceleration. The old Rocket 3 would do 100+ in 3 and once you shifted into 4th you really needed to hold on tight. I really enjoyed this video, nice work.

I had one, the new 2012 R3Roadster till 2015 and I had the best most fantastic times of my bikers life (I am 72 now and would like to have the new one !!) .... that bike is a nice monster, a brute one but so cool and zen because so balanced and reassuring !! just be the one in full control, do not think it is a toy !! this bike pushes you into the one only present moment, you no longer think about futur and past, just the NOW zen moment of real life !!!
georgeR3Roadster Get one !😀
harley fatboy and triumph rocket 3 are my only favrate bikes in the world it satisfies my cruiser head
Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it !
We ride in groups a lot and often have someone get caught by a light and we either slow down or stop in a median. Great ride. 😎😎
I absolutely love this rider!!! Such as nice down to earth collage of pure riding and nature.
your key didnt fall out .. its a common problem on the rocket, key loosing signal with the ecu...
Best part of the whole video is at 3:40. "I was like yeah buddy you bet your ass I'm going to hold on tight."
Pure Jess. That is what makes you so enjoyable to watch.
I am so glad that Triumph and Indian are doing well. Iconic brands both and reintroduced to the market in such a spot on blend of technology and classic nostalgia. Too bad about Norton.
Great review..cheers from New Zealand!😊
Good to see Doodle there, another great blogger I follow, love love love the rocket, what a bike! 😍
That bike seems so smooth and very torque 👍 made in hinckley uk 🇬🇧 ps it's great to see you Americans keeping the triumph name going
LOL 😎
The Bonneville's are beautiful!
nice job handling that motorcycle; i have had my 2014' Rocket III Roadster since 2015 and it has been an awesome bike the newer one here has the same torque but more horsepower and is lighter but I still prefer the original- it sounds better and looks better in my view. The engine is absolutely flawless that inline triple is like riding a bull. Anyone looking for a good bike recommendation- You just can't go wrong with owning a Triumph- performance and styling and affordable.
If you like those mountains you will love Switzerland.
This video was a nice surprise! Although it did contribute to making me late to work 😬
Bravo again!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Even with a couple of hiccups at the end you still kicked ass. Great job girl.
I love Arizona so jealous of your opportunity
I have a feeling that rocket 3 would get me from 0 to the scene of the crash in a big hurry. Looks like a fun way to go though. You did great with your coverage! When you have beautiful surroundings sometimes the best thing you can say is nothing. We’re living vicariously through you. Glad they invited you and you were able to go. I can’t wait to take on the badlands and black hills this summer. Before sturgis of course.
The rocket is my dream bike. That or a thunderbird storm. At 5'5" its a difficult choice. And the Yorkshire weather doesn't help lol
Nice to see you and Doodle together!
Happy you had a great experience. Great video! Have a blessed day!
I'm glad I watched this video . I cant believe how clear you sound in your biltwell , I've been debating on getting bluetooth setup for mine and hearing how clear you are I can finally say I'm getting one
I record separately from my com system. But I would never ride without my sena now that I have one!
Could I ride threw the winters somewhere. Do you have an idea. Camping for 4 mouth or stay in Michigan and watch it snow. I just bought a 2018 Yamaha Eluder. Its bigger then the triumph. Cool bike though. Your teaching me. Thank You
great video, this seems like the perfect motorcycle for cruising.
I've ridden the old rocket owned a small block boss hoss but this new rocket is for me way better. i'm only 5'7" tall with out boots and its not a problem for me, both feet flat on the floor unlike my old speed triple !
Well it’s starting to get spring time here now in Indiana. Pretty soon I would be riding. Maybe one day a couple of us could meet up for a group ride
I have a large 500 stroke engine baby. Giggity Giggity alriiight. 🤣😂🤣 I'm here all week folks.
i just made a trip from lafayette la, to casper wy at the beginning of march, literally the 2 days you were doing this i was running across the country 1500 miles in 32 hours.I would LOVE to have a 2020 rocket GT
How is the suspension for Michigan roads (we use that term loosely )?
I was in Phoenix in March and I just love it there.i would love to live there and I'm from Indiana
I live in Phoenix I’m glad you enjoyed your trip here . If you ever come back again leave time to to take a trip to Sedona and Flagstaff. And other areas north of Phoenix.
Great review - cruisers make so much on those long, pretty straight roads. Nice accent 👍
Oh, the tyres must get very square too in Arizona..
what about wind protection? is it ok for longer journeys?
What became of the lost key? I recently locked both sets of keys in a rental car trunk, needless to say, 3 hours later, after waiting for roadside assistance, I get in. The 2 sets of keys were tied together on a hard wired key ring.
Keyless bikes... a solution for a problem that never existed! Also I love that you didn't run the light it's not worth it. Great videos, amazing views!
yeah, if it were just a smidge red I would have done it, but the fact that almost 8 people inform of me ran it while it was 100% red, I was like "yeeeeah... I'll just stop" haha
A smidge red means someone had a smidge green and is accelerating...js
i'm laughing at your expressions of 'oh my god'. for the first month of riding all I could say to myself while riding and talking about it was that there are 3 phrases I kept repeating - oh my god, jesus christ, and holy shit.
So glad you had the opportunity to visit my home state. Such a variety of terrain and elevations. Come back from Ohio next fall or spring and check it out. Enjoyed you testing the various motos. Take care.
