@@BigBSinclair I still like it a lot and it’s overall great for the price and It looks, feels and sounds great but I will admit that I had some issues. The bridge that came in the guitar was somehow partially damage in shipping which made it somewhat unplayable. I ended up replacing it with a fender bridge which sounded much better than the stock one and wasn’t too difficult. I did have to do a bit of searching as well for the proper trem bar that match since the squier trem bar was too large to fit the fender bridge. I think I was just a bit unlucky with the one I got but I still think the guitar is really worth the money you should definitely buy it!

I think of the CV's as being the guitars a musician graduate's into as an intermediate player. Maybe the first justifying our arrival as a serious artist.
Well, there are comments going back 4 years but I’ll add mine anyway. I bought one in January 2024. My number one criteria was lightweight but this one has got to be around 8lbs which is pretty heavy. I had seen some reviews of the 70’s CV Strat and they were always commenting on how light they were, I think they were around 7lbs which is about perfect. But I couldn’t get my hands on one so I decided to try the 50’s. It is definitely heavy and I also noticed after a few days that my thumb, on my fingerboard hand, was getting quite sore. I realized it’s from the glossy finish on the neck. I’ve got an ‘84 Tele Thinline and a Gibson 335 that have glossy necks and it never bothered me before. But in terms of a rock/blues player I am getting old so that’s probably why I don’t play either my Tele or 335 very much. They’re both over 8lbs. But with everything considered, I love this CV 50’s Strat. I got it locally and it is set up nicely. There’s a little bit of fret sprout but it plays beautifully. It has that Stratocaster feel and sound, more than any Fender Stratocaster I’ve ever played. It has 9’s on it and I tune down 1/2 tone. It’s fantastic
i've been using this guitar for my gig over a year everyday trust me guys this is one of the best low budget guitar in the market. You get vintage sounds of course but compare to modern sounds i think i like vintage more. it gives you smoother sound and kind of nostalgic modern sound if you use with modern amps or pedals. This guitar is worth buying !!!!
love the classic vibes! ive had my 50s classic vibe strat since 2016 and wouldnt dream of getting rid of it. Some good content here! keep em coming 👍👍🎸🎸
They really are but the problem I see is you can get mim fender for a little more money. Definitely a used one but a lot of people want crazy prices for used gear that it just isn't worth. These guitars do rock. It's crazy the bang for the buck you can get with these. Some people really want the fender logo but fuck it. The way you play is worth more than a logo.
@@mma1st105 I own both a Fender Player and a Classic Vibe 70s Strat and find myself reaching for the Classic Vibe more. They both play and sound great, very similar to one another. The satin neck on the Fender is nice but the "glossy" neck on the CV is not sticky at all so it doesn't matter to me. The body on the Classic Vibe is a little thinner which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. They're both pretty vanilla Strats that just "do the Strat thing", I'd say it's worth saving the money and going Classic Vibe.
Simply amazing and beautiful....would love to get one myself! I just have a beginner kit Squeir. Not a great guitar, but I’m still grateful to have it.
I have had a squier cv 50 telecaster for a year now and its my favorite, i just ordered the same cv 50 stratocaster in this video. They truly are great guitars.
You continuously put out so much thorough and honest content, I love your channel Landon! Small point that may or may not matter in the grand scheme of things, if you are using a fairly sensitive multimeter, you may want to either wear gloves, or find some other way of not making contact with the meter probes with your fingers. Your body's resistance will be high, but any parallel path you create will always give you a lower reading than the lowest of the two paths your meter is reading (The pickup/Your fingertip - fingertip). Again, for rough tests won't make a huge difference, but if you require more accurate results it could skew the results unknowingly. Great chance you are already very much aware of this, in which case (obviously), ignore it completely. And a second point, your dang videos might be the best add going for the AC15, I think Vox owes you some publicity compensation, it sounds so good!
ah hey ya I was aware that touching it isn't the best option! I saw it fluctuate ever so slightly, but at least it gives a good rough estimate. ya Im really enjoying the AC15. take care!
I bought mine back around 2010-11. Made in China. Sunburst. Looks and plays fantastic. It sat in its case for the past 10 years. I only got it out last week and the bugger is still in perfect tune !
I had just bought the 50sCV Stratocaster in black and all I can say is that it's a great guitar. I love it so much I actually sold my MIM strat. I think this guitar is well worth the money and more. I'm surprised there not more expensive because they play really well. The only mod I did on the guitar was change the pickups. I put fender fat 50s in it because I didn't prefer the sound of the stock pickups, they sounded great but they were a little to bright and thin sounding to my liking. Overall squire has been putting out great guitars the past few years and the CV models are proof of that.
Bought a 60’s CV strat and found the pickups to be sterile. No mojo. I immediately upgraded the whole pickguard and electronics from a 2017 Fender Professional V-Mod. Now it’s got a unique identity. Thanks for the vids. Fellow Canadian
Really hope that next year Landon reaches 50k subscribers, u got really good content. You make the best reviews i´ve found from the squier classic vibe series.

I think they might have screwed that one up. We need to know if the rest of the newer Classic Vibe Strats (2019-2020) come with shielding painting or not.
I have a 2019 CV Strat in blonde finish I’ll call it second gen CV (does not have the ToneRider pickups) made at a a different Chinese factory ot does have. shielding paint.
Hi...I have owned many many guitars in my life...I gotta say...these Classic Vibes are extremely well made...With very few inexpensive upgrades " nut".."Pots"...You have a very professional guitar...I have a USA Standard Stratocaster that feels like a tank..I just bought the "Blonde Mary Kay" finished Model Pine Blonde transparent and it feels as good as my 83 JV Stratocaster. ..out of the US or this Classic Vibe I'd rather play the Classic Vibe on stage.... .I have 4 Classic Vibe Squier guitars 3 Telecasters and this Stratocaster. ...Nice.
The new classic vibes have a bone nut, at least my mustang does. Glad to see I'm not the only one who rates the CV's along side the JV's or in my case better than the JV I had.
@@phildale8451 Hey fantastic. ..I think these CV will be the collectable guitar of the future. ..All my Chinese CV have bone nuts but the last CV Indonesian has plastic nut...but the rest is the same as Chinese guitars...PS i agree. ..I honestly think these are better than JVs...all the JVs Ii have owned lack in the fret area...they all have soft steel and divots in every fret...the CV dont suffer that problem...I am buying as many CV as I can...better than money in the bank!
I like how you play your own jam at the end of the video. I like everything except the neck gloss. That can easily be sanded to preference. I want one! Great video!
Good review; I bought a 2019 50's CV in black with an upgrade in mind. I fitted the Obsidian vintage plus solderless assembly and replaced the bridge with a fender full size block and saddles.I copper shielded the cavities and fitted a shielded three ply pick guard.I like the pick ups and tuners so they stayed as is. Overall, it looks and sounds great, for a outlay of around £110 additional to purchase cost of £339.00
My guitar hero is John Mayer. His playing is just out of this world. He inspired me to pick up the electric guitar and I feel like I never stop learning from this guy.
Had the one with goldish hardware today - Hank Marvin like. It is a beatifull instrument, which is very playable out of the box. I allready have an American Custom Shop Strat tagged almost 5 times the price here in Europe. Honestly, I can't tell which one, I prefere. Well, the CV is a bit heavy, but if that's the "price", I have to carry for an awesome sound and sustain........it's okay with me. I'm in love with my new guitar. Cheers from Denmark. Thanks for a great review, Landon - subscribed
Nice Lando. It would be terrific to see edge rolling on the finger board. They can do it at this price point. Not hand rolled, but CNC run. Long gig=comfort! That is one thing that would sell the heck out of every non custom shop guitar. Thanks!
A great guitar. Thanks for the honest and comprehensive review. I feel like I will be well informed when I eventually get around to trying one. I will definitely be recapping on your previous episodes whilst simultaneously looking forward to your new content.
A well made, good playing budget guitar. CV guitars are made with a little more attention to detail than their standard squire counterparts. Thanks Landon!!
You give the info that matters for anyone to make their own choice. It's like today nobody will take a risk on making their own choice - but they will pay out pain on the reviewer who does say what he thinks and feels. Their life will be somewhat ... dull. You speak truth as you find it. Good job.
I own 3 squire classic vibes. The first two are of the first ones that came out. They are near perfect as far as vintage specs and the quality is impeccable. I cherish them. Bought a third new CV recently and was bummed out by how the attention to detail went out the window. Probably the biggest disappointment was how heavy they are.
I have 2 also….a custom Tele and a 2 tone sunburst, both from 2008. The Strat has a serial ending in 00028, so I wonder if it is the 28th made? I also tried the recent version, and agree they are not as nice, Laurel fretboard, sharp edges, less quality IMHO thanks!
I have seen so many Squier Strats and have modded some for students with better pots and a proper switch. Often, that is all you need to get going. Played a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster today and was really impressed. It felt more lively than the US Modern I tried a few weeks back. I sometimes think Fender overthink their modern models in an attempt to make a more middle of the road version.
I own the 2013 sunburst. Lucky to have purchased it used for 250$, modded with seymour duncans ("hot rails" in bridge). I'm using it most of time, despite the fact I have more expensive guitars, including MIM standard strat. It feels and plays great, the craft quality is amazing for the buck. The best-value instrument I've had!
These are the new Indonesian run and I've noticed a few things better than the Chinese ones pre 2019. First, the switch is a lot better as you mentioned. The pots are still Alpha mini's, but they are good quality nonetheless, same for the jack - good stuff. Also I like how they cut the nut slot, lacquered the neck and then insert the nut. On the old ones, the nut was inserted and then the neck was lacquered, which results in chipping of the finish when you're replacing it. The old ones have imo better pickups - toneriders, and the body wood was Alder instead of Pine/Nato. Your Tele is an example of the Crafted in China old ones.
It seems that the guitars built in Indonesia and Vietnam seem to have a much higher level of build quality and obviously pride in the work that they do and the product that they build. The close-up of the nut makes me think it could be synthetic bone. It looked very nicely cut and dressed. . Impressive about the selector switch for sure and alnico pickups not ceramic. I like the look of the guitar neck colour and Design. I'm okay with the gloss, especially on the front. . The back can be slightly touched up if you need to. Not a fan of tobacco style Sunburst guitars But I'm sure they offer it In some other colors. How did those klusion style tuners feel to you? I would feel better with a set of machined Grover's on there that are Exact footprint replacement for them. So from my perspective, I would probably change the tuners and the output Jack As a bare minimum And I would completely Shield it And then it would be as good as just about any other Fender you could find, even at some higher price points. Doing this you can save yourself some money And end up with one sweet guitar.
I have a korean squier strat from 1996. Bought new. Still looks and more importantly plays beautiful to this day. Completely stock. A dark maroon colour. I’ve played other squiers that have felt like toys in comparison.
Had mine for 2 weeks now and I’m really happy with mine, it was setup perfect when I got it. The fret edges have been really well finished and so has the whole guitar. I bought a player series strat a few months ago and sent it back because I was un happy with it for $950 AUD and this CV is a all round better guitar hands done and I payed $400 AUD less. If anything I may sand the neck back a bit cause it’s a bit sticky especially in a high humidity season here in Australia but that’s the probably the only con I can fault it on
Been eyeing the Classic Vibes on Sweetwater for about a year now , on a fixed income and every time I scratch up enough to buy one, something happens... like 2020. :( That neck looks a lot more glossy than the pictures show on Sweetwater ! (sweet) Fender owns Squier , so technically, it is a Fender. (Like Gibson owns Epiphone ) They try to blanket the whole market for sales.
I have a Squire Classic Vibe Jaguar in surf green and it is a fantastic guitar. Just placed an order for a Classic Vibe 50s Stratocaster in fiesta red. Squiers in the past were considered junk guitars, not the case now, the quality is really good, especially those made in Indonesia.
Any Squier classic vibes I have bought have been great right out of the box even better than some Fender guitars I have bought, for the money Squier classic vibes are the way to go.
After having a tele for a while now Im looking to score a decent Strat to mix it up. A classic vibe 60s and or a used mim player series is what Im looking to p/u without breaking the bank.
I couldn't wait. I found my Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster in White Blonde at *Sweetwater* . Chose a 7 lb 6 oz beauty, with excellent figuring in the neck. and the body paint is translucent enough to see the wood grain. I highly recommend Sweetwater. Guitar arrived fast and safely. Was well packaged. It was setup excellent already, didn't even lower the strings. Sweetwater's 55 point inspection is legit. *"This is the nicest guitar I've ever played, and that includes my Dad's well setup Original 70's Strat, and a '69 Les Paul Goldtop that Guitar Center let me play."*
Bought one of these on Amazon resale for £225.00 two months ago. Came in the same excellent packaging and was in 100% mint condition. Sent it to the Tech for a set up to my preferred specs (although it wasn't bad out of the box) and I love it. 4 years on from Landon's video and these are still fantastic guitars for the money. Current UK price £370.00. Sound great & play great.
Nut is called "synthetic bone" aka plastic. I was lucky to have bought the Classic Vibe 50s for $50 less than they are now and it's made in China not Indonesia with Alder body not Pine. Seems they cheapened the CVs now that they are more expensive and made with different wood (I thought mine was heavy until you read the weight of yours!) in Indonesia. I wish you could A/B the identical one like mine with the Indo one you have here. 🎸
@@cuda426hemi That is true, but it says so on Fenders website that the CV’s nut is bone unlike the Fenders on their website. I will get the Squier in the Day after tomorrow so I will look into it more for you and see if they have maybe changed it after you had bought one... Could be I’m totally wrong, I will let you know. Probably gonna change my nut anyway... ;)
@@jordybreur3282 One of the mysteries of life is how Fender can call their obviously plastic - Bone when they don't SMELL like bone when heated by grinding/slotting and will make pinhole with heated pin head. Lawyers. At least on Sweetwater's site the specs are listed as "synthetic bone" To me the deal breaker isn't a $4 nut - it's country of origin - Chinese v Indonesia. My Chinese CV being a little better made - different body wood etc. - than the Indonesian.🎸
Just bought one of these 50s CV strats Bought the blonde cv tele and cannot understate the quality of it. I hope the strat is the same. I can't understand how Fender sell any player series whilst Squier are selling these CV's
Here in 2023. I still have my 50s Stratocaster CV exactly like that one, made in China around 2016. And I still love it. I also still have my 50s CV blackguard butterscotch Telecaster made in China around 2015. Also amazing. Total bang for your buck guitars. I’m never trading mine.
i can’t provide much info, but i do know that the neck profiles are different, the pickups are slightly different and the 70’s strats have three screw back plates and the bigger headstock
Dude, that's the fun part. Just learning about guitars and other gear is almost as fun as playing. It's crazy the amount gear info on UA-cam. I'm hooked.
I recently bought a beautiful quartersawn Strat neck and am looking for a loaded body and was considering the CV 50s model, but wondered about the PUs. You answered that - they sound fantastic! Also, you can take a scotchbrite scouring pad to the neck. I've done that on a few of my guitars and the abrasive is fine enough to control the gloss reduction to your liking. I agree with your assessment of the 5way switch. The vintage type feel so much better. Very good review!
I have both the squire neck is more easily influenced with temperature which is more difficult to stay in tune. I float the bridge and really aggressive the tremolo. I have the 60s I would guess the 50s would be more stable since it is one piece of maple vs thinner maple with a rosewood fretboard.
@@Agondonter777 but I still want it lol. I get ur point tho. I’m using an Affinity Telecaster. I’m so in love with my guitar but I’ll upgrade next year to the player series
Ref:The Pickups...The 2020 series is new, but 2018 and before they had a brand of pickups in there "Tonerider" Which are the ones I have in mine. Not sure why they stopped putting those in but They are Exceptional pickups
this is the best all around demonstration/explanation/review I think I've ever seen on anything. Fender should be paying you. also, I'm sold on this guitar, gonna order one Wednesday. thx man.
With a proper set up (helps any guitar) the Squier Classic Vibe series are a great guitar. I have a Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI that I got about 9 months to a year ago. It is a great instrument and very helpful in playing many of the songs by The Cure, since they used a Fender Bass VI in many of the songs that they wrote. Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos Landon.
I bought the '50s CV a few weeks ago. I like the overall look, playability and tones/sound. Some cons: I don't really like the sunburst. I think it is too dark. Original Fenders show more of the wood, especially above the scratch plate. The body is very visibly made from several pieces of wood with a line where two parts meet very visible. Not very nice. As wth all guitars, it might be nice to buy one in a store where they have several, so you can play all of these and pick out the one that feels, sounds and looks best to you. If they would have had others, I might have picked a different one. That said, apart from esthetics, this is probably a guitar you can buy unseen/online without too much risk. Setup and fretwork wasn't good and haven't yet gotten perfect balance. The two upper strings (E and B) sound a bit muzzled compared to the ones below. Some frets need some work to get all notes to ring out nicely. Switching to .010 string is a slight improvement, but also loses some of the character in the sound and playability, i think. 'Modern C shape' is still a bit thick for my tate. I might prefer something even flatter at the back. But that would it bring it even further away from original spec. The Modern C already is a point where this guitar seriously differs from the original. Which is not a bad thing. I don't like the feel of the tuners. Small and shape-edged yet you need to apply some force. And they wind a lot of string quickly (and easily - great design), but this makes fine tuning difficult. Neck is quite sticky. Satin finish might be preferable, but this is true to original specs. Scratch plate (front and back) is very white.... Might be nicer to have it in the same 'aged' off-white as pickup covers and knobs. Overall, enjoy this guitar a lot.
They have cheaped out, Bro. Earlier versions made in China had the body shielding. Also... the Better pickups. Even the body was Alder, not pine. Neck on mine is quarter sawn, as well. Fell in Love with it in the store and bought it used. Yours sound very good, though... so that’s what matters, right!? Enjoy. Here is what has happened: the Classic Vibe line has been Loved by Guitarists for years, so Fender decided to start calling there other lines by this name. Lines that were clearly made in other factories. Now... obviously... they have started making these original type of Classic Vibe Strats in the Indonesian factory. Trixy trixy move by them. Just know... your Tele is better made, but this one sounds great... soooooo... who gives a flying F**k!!! Enjoy it! ! ! PS: You got one of the best looking Bodies I’ve ever seen on a Classic Vibe Tele. It’s just beautiful!
I think the era of the Squier Classic Vibe kicking their parent company offerings in the teeth is officially ending as of now. These are not what they were. Even the pine 52 Tele, did have it right, it now has cheezy metal barrel saddles and the one I saw was looking green to me and I almost broke my wrist lifting it out of the rack. What a boat anchor. Made me want to cry just a bit.
Yeah, I have a chinese made '50s Strat and '50s Butterscotch Tele. The Tele is pine and REALLY heavy...the Strat is Alder and REALLY light. N.B. Pretty sure the saddles are stamped Fender on my Strat, not Squier. Great review, as always...and I think you lucked out with that particular guitar; I don't imagine they'll all be as good as yours.
Io ho una fender stratocaster del 1994 , ho acquistato la squier per usarla quando si suona con gli amici. Il fatto è che sono rimasto stupito sia per costruzione che per suono !
Squier Classic Vibes are terrific! Pure sunshine! Indonesia is the new Japan.
Your level of review, production, personality , style, etc. is Sooo high & exactly how I want to see & would execute myself.
Bravo, Landon❕✌🏻
thanks!
Love the CV line. Everything I've played from the Classic Vibe series has been great.
I really like the classic vibes, and as always Landon's reviews/info are informative (& with a great sense of humor)!
Love these deep dives. Sounds excellent.
that sunburst is gorgeous and the Classic Vibe series are just amazing value.
These Classic Vibe guitars are really good for the money. Love them.
I would learn to play just because this guitar is a total package that makes me smile! Of course, Id have to have its brother, the Tele Classic Vibe!
I'm thinking about buying one of these and after watching a few videos and this one, I have no doubts at all. Looks and sounds great for the price 👍🏻
Good choice!
I have had a squier cv 50 telecaster for a year now and its my favorite, i just ordered the same cv 50 stratocaster in this video. They truly are great guitars.
nice! they are both solid guitars
I saw it fluctuate ever so slightly, but at least it gives a good rough estimate. ya Im really enjoying the AC15. take care!
Thank you for giving away such a beautiful Guitar. Gonna make someone very happy!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I just got this guitar as my first electric guitar on my 19th birthday and it's amazing.
Got myself a Squier Bullet HSS & now saving for Squier CV.
Bought a 60’s CV strat and found the pickups to be sterile. No mojo. I immediately upgraded the whole pickguard and electronics from a 2017 Fender Professional V-Mod. Now it’s got a unique identity. Thanks for the vids. Fellow Canadian
Rock on!
I love the Classic Vibe look and sound. That one is a beauty. Best part, it has my initials CV.
Ayyyyyy it has my initials too
Who cares dude
@@jesuslopez6873 apparently you do
Really hope that next year Landon reaches 50k subscribers, u got really good content. You make the best reviews i´ve found from the squier classic vibe series.
I'm so inlove with guitars 😭😭 but I don't have one so I'm stuck watching people play superb ones. I recently subscribed and also new to guitar -- I just know the basics.
Thank you for your videos 🤩 such a candy for my eyes

@@landonbailey OMGGG I GOT NOTICED 🤧🤧🤧 watching from the Philippines. Thank you for the infos and experiences you share 😄 More power to your channel hehe
hey no problem! take care
Love the hell outta that finish!!!!!! I Have ALWAYS wanted a Maple neck guitar as well...all of mine are Rosewood!!!
Isn’t the point of the ground wire being screwed in that it makes contact with the shielding paint?
I'm guessing the shielding paint is actually clear on this guitar rather than black?
I think they might have screwed that one up. We need to know if the rest of the newer Classic Vibe Strats (2019-2020) come with shielding painting or not.
Mine did not come with shielding paint.
I have a 2019 CV Strat in blonde finish I’ll call it second gen CV (does not have the ToneRider pickups) made at a a different Chinese factory ot does have. shielding paint.
I could be wrong, but I think the wire needs to touch the bottom of the bridge or other metal to work, not the shielding paint.
Dude, you make that guitar sing...sweet tunes. Sounds good clean and DIRTY thru that Vox.
Hey, thanks!
This review made me wanna get it. What a tone! Lovely!
I love the two-tone sunburst of the 50s!♥️🤘🏻
I love the look and the sound of the pickups of the guitar love it.
The CV is awesome but I have to mention how super amazing awesome That Vox AC15 always sounds
The classic vibes are really great. Squire has been hitting a homerun with these. Id play gigs with them.😎😎😎
i love how he adds his bloopers at the end😂
I like how you play your own jam at the end of the video. I like everything except the neck gloss. That can easily be sanded to preference. I want one! Great video!
ya that gloss comes off easily
Good review; I bought a 2019 50's CV in black with an upgrade in mind. I fitted the Obsidian vintage plus solderless assembly and replaced the bridge with a fender full size block and saddles.I copper shielded the cavities and fitted a shielded three ply pick guard.I like the pick ups and tuners so they stayed as is.
Overall, it looks and sounds great, for a outlay of around £110 additional to purchase cost of £339.00
I think there is a glitch on PMT's website... there are two listings for this guitar , one at £299 and the other says "Clearance" £449 ! 🤪
My guitar hero is John Mayer. His playing is just out of this world. He inspired me to pick up the electric guitar and I feel like I never stop learning from this guy.
Thats nice buddy but you should comment on the other video as he isnt gonna read any here

@@Vixoxbit yeah. No problem man.
Thanks for a great review, Landon - subscribed
cheers!
Nice Lando. It would be terrific to see edge rolling on the finger board. They can do it at this price point. Not hand rolled, but CNC run. Long gig=comfort! That is one thing that would sell the heck out of every non custom shop guitar. Thanks!
My classic vibe 50 s strat is the best strat I have ever played and that includes American models.
Thanks Landon!!
cheers!
You give the info that matters for anyone to make their own choice. It's like today nobody will take a risk on making their own choice - but they will pay out pain on the reviewer who does say what he thinks and feels. Their life will be somewhat ... dull. You speak truth as you find it. Good job.
It’s so pretty! I love strats, my first guitar was a strat Wich I put a dragon sticker on the fretboard. It’s very lovely!
ON the fretboard? Isn't that annoying when you are playing ?
@@savethewhales7256 it has cuts where the frets are, so it doesn’t cause an issue
This is the best review of 50s Squier Classic Vibe that I have found on UA-cam.
hey thanks!
I could make a better one but I don't want to.
My Pine body Tele, Modern Player Plus is amazingly heavy too! sounds and plays great but it´s a brick. Nice revue Landon.
ya I held one of those a few years back and it was heavy. thanks!
I have just got one today exactly the same. It`s beautifully made and sounds great.
Very nice!
Looking for a used one. What year did they come out?
I haven't yet played the newer CV strats. I have a 2016 60's CV. And wow. 100% stock.Mine actually has full size 250 pots.
Great review! Thanks for playing it in a mix, too 🎸
Love this guitar.
Thanks for sharing
I appreciate the video's, just bought the Squier Classic Vibe 50s blonde Telecaster, Fiesta Red Strat and the Walnut Starcaster. Thanks, good job.
Very nice!
I’ve played other squiers that have felt like toys in comparison.
nice! sounds solid 🎸👍
Seems like an awesome guitar considering the price-quality relationship. Everyone needs that Strato tone.
If anything I may sand the neck back a bit cause it’s a bit sticky especially in a high humidity season here in Australia but that’s the probably the only con I can fault it on
Been eyeing the Classic Vibes on Sweetwater for about a year now , on a fixed income and every time I scratch up enough to buy one, something happens... like 2020. :(
That neck looks a lot more glossy than the pictures show on Sweetwater ! (sweet)
Fender owns Squier , so technically, it is a Fender.
Had the exact one years ago when they first came out . Want another now . Cant find one anywhere . I'll take yours . How soon can you drop it off ?
Any Squier classic vibes I have bought have been great right out of the box even better than some Fender guitars I have bought, for the money Squier classic vibes are the way to go.
After having a tele for a while now Im looking to score a decent Strat to mix it up. A classic vibe 60s and or a used mim player series is what Im looking to p/u without breaking the bank.
Always wanted a CV.. This guit feels amazing and it sounds terrific!
a master tone is a great add...its a pretty recent addition to modern strats... ( let alone something from the 50s)

The nut on these series of Squiers is actually "Bone" and not "Synthetic bone" as some of the lower end Fenders have.
@@jordybreur3282 No way they use Bone on cheap CVs. Even Fender's "Bone" nuts are plastic - fact.
Great review. Polished, complete, and insightful.
Just bought one of these 50s CV strats Bought the blonde cv tele and cannot understate the quality of it. I hope the strat is the same. I can't understand how Fender sell any player series whilst Squier are selling these CV's

Better than the other fenders
@@aliengrey6052 different. It just sounds better at lower volume. So it really only makes a difference if you “ride” your volume pot.
Other than appearance, I’m always confused about the differences between the 50, 60, and 70 models.
i can’t provide much info, but i do know that the neck profiles are different, the pickups are slightly different and the 70’s strats have three screw back plates and the bigger headstock
Squier CV neck profiles are typically the same (9.5" r fingerboard). Basucally differences are pickups and colors as I understand it.
Dude, that's the fun part. Just learning about guitars and other gear is almost as fun as playing. It's crazy the amount gear info on UA-cam. I'm hooked.
Great comprehensive and detailed review. I'd like to see a follow up now years later please.
I no longer have this model!
Good choice!
Awesome, awesome guitar at a great price! Very detailed review from you as well! Great video!
The best Squier u can get before moving up to the Fender player series
I have both the squire neck is more easily influenced with temperature which is more difficult to stay in tune. I float the bridge and really aggressive the tremolo. I have the 60s I would guess the 50s would be more stable since it is one piece of maple vs thinner maple with a rosewood fretboard.
@@bluwng interesting....very interesting 🧐

Looks like a fender and plays almost like a fender
The entire classic vibe series is killer good, would love to own a 50s classic vibe strat
It’s just beautiful!
ya I believe the made in Indonesia is a recent change. I heard it's happening to the CV Teles too. cheers!
Made me want to cry just a bit.
lynyrddeville Yuuuuup... it’s pretty sad to see it happen.
