@@brandonspain12345 yeah I’ve been seeing that a lot, and the suit honestly looks pretty good the first look didn’t do it justice with the battle damage, there’s some stuff I would’ve done differently like the lines on it or the neck area but the fitment looks pretty good they just didn’t use one of those super muscular under suits like with Cavill. If you buy something because you're afraid of the re-sale value in my opinion is absolutely bs. You should buy them because you appreciate them, enjoy them, and want them. The mindset of "I don't want the resale to drop" is bizarre and honestly, good don't buy it let the people who actually like them enjoy them.

Interesting video Riley! I think there’s no right or wrong answer here. It wildly varies per person and per climate. Creasing is not the only risk. If the material at the hips on your Andrew had fused to itself in that pose, when you undid it there would be irreversible damage. I’m more of an OCD collector, it’s not about value to me I just want my stuff to be undamaged. But I totally get it if others don’t mind this. Spidey figures look absolutely sick in crazy poses but there’s also something to be said for a classy pose showing off the proportions and suit without limbs obscuring the detail etc. No matter which way people want to pose their Spidey figs I reckon they’re definitely not worth skipping because of this, you hit the nail on the head there!

A quick single example might be (I don't own yet) the new T.H. bright blue suit to as suggested here, the T.H. advanced integrated suit (do own). I am guessing the material, thickness, etc. of some 2021-22 "suits" posing better than even newer 2023-24 figs & it just depends on HT's moods & applications.

I do think however, if a character is held in a position for over a decade, and dependent on what the material was made from, it may make the material "freeze" or inhibit the ttaits of that position, unless its a flexible and flimsy material that allows for movement and being adjusted.

I think it’s all based on which figure you’re using. If it’s a full rubber suit like the advanced suit, there will be marks on the hips or legs. Great video! I’m not really a poser or (xtreme poser) don’t get me wrong I don’t pull the figure out the box and throw it on the stand. I do line up the elbow joints to wrist and try to give the character weight in it’s stance and depending on character an accessories I use them. I display a lot of figures on one self and spend a lot of time making it look spacious as possible 😂 but this is where the hobby becomes really ones on identity in how we display/ case/ light our figures which make the collection videos really enjoyable

Why would the value drop due to creasing? It? Might not look. [the best] but that shouldn’t matter. It looks way more realistic. Think of any ordinary clothes they crease heck I am positive that the actual suits used to make the movies also crease and I’m not trying to start drama. I’m totally fine if you don’t want the creasing but I’m just saying that it’s not bad. It makes it look a lot more realistic and sure. Maybe if you have a Spider-Man figure based off a cartoon you might not want to crease but with the realistic ones it’s not that bad besides some small creasing shouldn’t affect the value it still Spider-Man it’s still epic. It’s the same figure.

    • @Riley.Reviews

I agree with you, it adds even more to the realism since the suit would crease in real life. Yeah, resale value should be the last thing you should be worrying about with a figure. Honestly the creases should be there because that’s how tights work in real life.
The only thing I don’t like about Hot Toys Spidey figures is that shinny fabrics can make the figures kinda stiff & scary to pose. Like the figure itself might break, which is the last thing you’d want a figure to feel like. They should really try making the whole suit out of the non-glossy fabrics more often. Like that Scarlet Spider you showed here. As posing Spidey in certain iconic poses like hanging upside down or doing high knee poses shouldn’t be that hard to do.

I only have 3 Spideys...the three with the pointy hands because the entire reason I wanted them was to do the meme. I should say, I had the Integrated suit doing full elbow bends periodically. I didn't have him in one pose for more than about a month or two before I would repose him and adjust it so that some parts of the suit got a break while others where bending and flexing.
I've had him in a neutral pose for the last month...and his elbows are pretty raggedy lookin, if I'm being honest. But also, it's the Integrated Suit...it's a low-value figure to begin with. But also, I'm not super concerned about the creasing since the whole point is to have them all posed up pointing at each other once I get my new cases in and actually have the space for them to do it again.
