The part I love most about the Mr. Rogers clip is that right before they get to the offending part of the song, you can see the realization of what he's about to do on his face and then he just plows on through anyway.

I CLEARLY heard “F**k you, Thomas.” I’m surprised parents didn’t complain about it like they did Bob the builder, which I didn’t hear any swearing in that clip, it was just muttering like they claimed it to be. I remember that song from the Mister Rogers clip. We did it in either preschool or Sunday School and we did "Tall Man" in a slightly altered way so that we weren't so obviously flipping the bird. This was in the mid80s.

Wrong. They cut off the middle finger AND the index finger. This is why english people use both finger (like a reverse victory sign) with the same meaning. The middle finger used since the ancient greek times (thousands of years).
