I'm so happy Devin made us discover Ché Aimee Dorval... and I'm ashamed at the same time to be at least 7 years late !
I come back to listen to this song regularly. It's just so great, haunting and beautiful at the same time. Can't wait for more Casualties too!

I was fortunate enough to see them perform together a month ago just before he canceled his tour due to the Coronavirus. It was amazing. She's magic. I'm very happy he helped her to get exposure.
More talent in her little toe than the corporate 'stars' but I'd hate to see her go down that route. She's perfect as she is x

Like many of you, the album she and Devin Townsend put out jointly, 'Casualties Of Cool' is what lead me to listen to her solo stuff. What a SUPERB vocalist - and song writer! I wish she and Devin would work on a second album, but I'm still excited to hear more of her. I really enjoyed this track! Thanks!

Saw her at Manchester as the female vocalist for Devin Townsend, had to see what her solo material was like. Needless to say it is absolutely incredible, can't wait to hear everything that comes next, what an incredible voice.

but her voice is something else too.
Such a beautiful, haunting voice distracts you from the heaviness of the lyrics but that is a true artist, IMHO. Finding the beauty in the melancholy or even heavier. Che Aimee - please never stop making music.

It's crazy that I'd probably never have heard this voice if I hadn't listened to Casualties of Cool. And I'd never have listened to that if I'd never listened to STP or SYL. And I'd never have listened to them if I hadn't listened to Megadeth and Metallica and Quiet Riot and Judas Priest.
Hearing this reminds me of the first time I heard Sinead O'Connor.

My path started with Limp Bizkit....... Im so sorry....
My path with Status Quo in 1977 as I was 6 years old and that `hard rock` ..the I wanted it louder and started to listen to Kiss, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden...till there was that concert in 1984 in Zwolle with a band called `Metallica` and my life changed..brutally. Slayer followed soon. Death and Morbid Angel...and then suddenly I wanted more heavyness than ever and read about this band Strapping Young Lad and their albums that where counted as the loudest on earth. Bought them all...and was crying over their ending. But follow DTB and DTP all the way, bought all their albums too and enjoyed all the concerts they played in The Netherlands. And thus I came to Ché..and I love it! Great singer, great album..

I might be wrong, but "I think I'm there" sounds more like "I'm thin, I'm air" to me. It seems to fit just as well, if not better.
There are great artists who aren't necessarily great performers, and, there are great performers who aren't necessarily great artists. It is rare to be both. In my observations, one of the greatest achievements of great artist/performers is the magical gift to make it seem effortless. One of the things that sets Che' Aimee apart in live performances is that magical, mystical sense of soul-to-soul concert that feels like a one to one personal concert. Even if there's 1,000 people in the audience, I think we all feel like it is a one-to-one personal concert. This is an ethereal gift.
Ché Aimee is love. The dark, twisted, depressed, jealous, sad one. The only one true kind of love.
Her voice is as beautiful as she is. Love the writing, keep moving forward girl!

So basically she stole dev’s echo machine...
actually that was an old tape echo that was lent to the studio briefly at the time of the video recording. We were putting it on a lot of stuff because it was fun to use and sounded cool. This had nothing to do with dev's "echo machine" as there was no reference used in this recording, and the tape machine was the engineers idea :)
