How did you get your donkey to start running? Mine is 2.5 years old, and whenever we start picking up the pace, he starts getting a bit aggressive and he goes into defensive mode. And when I want him to start picking up the pace, he doesn’t understand what I’m trying to do
@@jcjc7783 have you tried running from behind, off the left hip? Also, try trailering somewhere. It could be frustration because he doesn’t want to leave your property.
@@mountainridgegear8172 interesting, I have not tried that. How do you get them going when you’re behind them? We go on long walk around our quiet neighborhood. We live on an acre which he grazes, and then 2-3 times a week we walk around our agriculture (quiet) neighborhood for about an hour plus. Most walks go pretty well, while others he gets a bit frustrated. He’s a 2.5 y/o jack. I’m ordering him a pack saddle this week as well, as I believe a new discipline will be good for his brain.
Such a lovely day there, you are blessed to live in a beautiful place....take good care of those donkeys 🐴🐴🐴🐾🐾😊❤️

How absolutely awesome 👏🏼
It really is!
Really strong
That looks like Homestead Ranch Park!
Correct!
How does one get started? We have four donkeys. I run a lot mostly with dogs. What should I read/do? I am a total noob
Donkeys run ... willingly?
Harold Smith Yes. There are lots of incorrect stereotypes about donkeys. They are not lazy and slow.
