excellent choice!
RIP Angelo, your music always will be legendary
" I am in love with you. "
I've seen countless striking love scenes in cinema, but none hit me the way this particular one did. First time I've seen the film I was too young to understand that, when I saw it the second time, it reminded me a particular person that I was once madly in love with, made me chug a whole bottle of wine. Whenever I hear this score, it gets me. What a great scene, what a great score, what a simple but striking line.
Completely agree, such small powerful words
Yes...I could hear my palpitations at that scene...I still don't know what to think of this movie except it's one of the most beautiful things ever pictured.
P.S
I am a movie freak and a sucker for gorgeous women and beautiful music so that kinda explains it though haha.
this movie destroys my composure, in no small thanks to this hauntingly beautiful yet morose, somber instrumental.
i FELT Diane's woes. I cried like a baby when she did in that movie. And, when I wanted to share this with the person I was in love with, they found it....boring. It IS a lot to take in. You have to be OPEN to weirdness and unpredictability before viewing this film. So, concerning that person, the fact i was alone in seeing the beauty of this film made me feel worthless and hopeless.
Mulholland Drive - an amazing piece of art. I can't call it just a "movie". And, I can never watch it again and be sucked back to those feelings.
I never even heard of Naomi Watts before seeing this. I thought she was just amazing.
Please explain what this film is about
@@jas22 I feel you 100%. And yes we "found" Naomi Watts.
This is sad and beautiful at the same time. Betty character was innocent, naive, enthusiast and she is portrayal as a pure being. That's why when the love scene came there's a feeling of what it's happening (despite of being just love) it's something bad, a point of no return, the loss of innocence, and that's just sad.
The moment starting around 1:40 is one of the best musical motifs in movie history.
It brings me to tears every time I hear it, it's amazing
The slow climb and then the crescendo at around 01:50 is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. RiP Angelo. 😢
It’s amazing how different this main theme works in the movie, the same tune but in the opening scene it sounds dark and mysterious but in the love scene and final credits it sounds so sensual and tragic.
May you rest in peace, genius 😢
Great observation.
I'm here again every day.
And here I am again. Two years ago I was in agony, alone. Then we got together and had a hell of a romance for almost a year. And it dissolved. And another year later I'm back.
still here...
I hope you’re doing well buddy?
@@caaay1 He dea... ptrmph (*droppin dead noises*)
Hang in there man
One of the most breathtaking love scenes in cinema, this movie is a masterpiece.
This is literally the first thing I sought upon hearing the news of Angelo’s death. And after the triple whammy of this, Victor Lewis-Smith and Manuel Gottsching, I’m in absolute bits
Me as well, it's been in my head for nearly 20 years, I love it
Why these three in particular?
@@emmchen1101 Major formative cultural touchstones for me, the three of them
2:08 it's just epic moment! Most beautiful thing I ever heard
The best soundtrack ever written.
This music is so unreal. It takes me out of reality and gives me shivers. I can hear what the film is about: love, passion, darkness, desperation, tragedy. If this is not pure art, then I don’t know what art is.
RIP Thank you forever for this Angelo
“I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”
Rest in Peace Angelo 😔
The feeling of loss in this music is overwhelming. It turns my heart to lead. RIP Angelo Badalamenti.
RIP Angelo Badalamenti
I have seen Mulholland Drive eight years ago and it really hit me in the head that I couldn't think about anything else by the week. Today I am still impressed about that movie and it is my number one. However, I think that I wouldn't have even about 50% of these emotions without great Angelo Badalamenti's music, especially regarding theme after the ending.
what's the name of the music at the end?
2:10
One of the greatest movies of all time needs the soundtrack to accompany it. Thankyou Angelo. May you rest in peace.
Sublime.
Best soundtrack and best film for all times
This reminds me of the first woman I ever kissed. We got together one night and I brought her back to my house and we just sat on the couch in the living room with everything turned off. The lights, the TV, everything. Well except for the stove light. So we just sat there in the Dark confessing to each other for how we really felt about each other. Then at that moment, we both shared a very passionate kiss. It was the romantic experience I ever had. We couldn't be together because she got switched over to another company and had to move to Arizona. She was gonna reconsider, but it was already too late. It was 5 years ago and I didn't really see the point of dating anybody after her.
:-( beautiful..thanks for sharing....
Really man? I mean I understand you, but not dating anymore because of her is not a wise decision. There are a lot of great girls around and you have TWO OPTIONS now: u can just dream about that girl and keep missing her and thinking about her and staying lonely because of a 1 person (in a world of more than 7 billion ppl) or the second option is to try to meet other girls, get to know them, get nice and bad experiences and having fun. your life, your choice. hope you do not regret that decision at the end of your life.
The POINT is... she wouldn't want you to be alone
@@MrMarsFargo It's kind of poetic justice or just beautiful to be alone without that one person. Dating sucks big time, either way, but to each their own.
Re. "I didn't really see the point of dating anybody after her."
So a part of you stopped living life, stopped seeking romance and affection. Man, that's even more sad than the idea of a potential love moving away just as the relationship has barely begun. I don't understand people.
I love this movie.
Masterpiece.
A fantastic film with wonderful accompanying music!
"Im in love with you"
To me, there's no most wonderful soundtrack (and movie ;-) in our world today...
been listening to this for several days on repeat. I don't how but it's touching smth deep inside me. Just briliant!
that love theme... just heaven
2:00-2:53 Those swells are heartbreaking! 💔
RiP Angelo, your incredible music will never be forgotten, you were one of the most unique and best composers.
Fantastic!
Goodbye. And thank you.
when it comes to soundtracks...this is one of my favorites
Beautifully powerful.
Best soundtrack I ever heard. The movie is a masterpiece thanks to Angelo Badalamenti.
Magnificient Movie, with Amazing Music, as usual with these 2 Great Artists Duo Lynch-Badalamenti
2:08 is what I expect to hear when that cowboy comes looking for me a second time.
"2:08 is what I expect to hear when that cowboy comes looking for me a second time..." This is such a great line... In one sentence you've encapsulated so many of the emotions that we love about the film: mystery, fear, awe... and the unbreakable link with the soundtrack.
Can't you just take the buggy and escape it all in one go? No. The Cowboy will find you. As he does for all of us.
Rest in peace Mr Badalamenti.
THIS IS THE GIRL
Listen to this on repeat while praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the most Holy Rosary

"No hay orchestra . . . " .
Cette scène aux paroles lithaniques a presque l'allure d'une messe; sacrée.

Very beautiful song ♥
The best movie of the new century so far.. and much more than that - a masterpiece unmatched with any other movie ever made since!!!! Stands in line with the great stars and directors who discoverd the art of cinema!!! And the soundtrack - I melt away when ever I listen to it!!!!!
💔😢
Defines the movie perfectly
Rip king💔
masterpiece.
There's no way that girl is in Adam Kesher's movie.
It's no longer his film
It's me, myself, expressed in music.
🎶✨💫⚡💫✨🎶
It's a requiem more than it is a love theme.
Is this all strings instruments? I don't think I've heard anything this distinctive in how it conveys depth.

I just found he’s dead. Rip
Journey to the line?
I noticed the similarities as well, and it honestly was a bit distracting. Both Journey to the line and this are great, I do love both of them, but it was a little distracting.
