found this on the dome Kearsney Abbey siphon Water was siphoned from the river into this concrete mound, into a pipe which fed the fountain which sometimes still spouts up in the middle of the lake. There is no pump or motor - it all works by water pressure in the closed pipe system
I like these walking around England talking, overland chats, with you and Adam best. You guys compliment each other best; It's a good combo as far as these above ground walk about town vids go.
folks always remember to write your phone number on your drone in case you lose it like I did. Second day I had it, gone like it had a mind of its own. Put your buddies number on it if your doing things your not supposed to.
Been watching your videos for a few weeks now, great way to learn about Dover whilst having a lough, would love to see some video of Maxton some day, keep going.
Was cool to watch you all learn to use the drone together like that, well done. One thing I thought of was, here in Canada there are courses offered in some places .... maybe Andy could utilize something like that. Good luck with future flights. It was cool to hear mention of Casey Neistat as well .... big fan here. Cheers!
Hi...The domed structure looks like the roof to an 18th century ice house. They were built underground for ice storage and mostly found near mansions, wealthy landowners etc.
This is the problem, DJI and other GPS drones make it too easy, people buy these cheap drones thinking they will fly the same and they don't. You don't have to fly a DJI drone, you just tell it where to go. You get what you pay for when it comes to things like this.
sounded like one of the props was hitting the blade guard, asymmetrical RPM and hence thrust making it want to pull in one direction. Even the tiny £10 Chinese drones usually have good stability so the fact that it's not an expensive one wouldn't be the cause alone, something not right with it.
A lot of Abbeys were destroyed in the reign of King Henry VIII, when he severed ties with the Catholic Church. The sites were sold off to his friends and family, who built large houses on the Monastical grounds. A lot of these places still carry the 'Abbey' name, despite no religious building remains on site - the houses often being built from the convenient stonework of the former Abbey buildings. Most Monasteries had a mill of some sort, and there is a channelled mill race running through your park there: the high walls do look pre- reformation to me, as well. So maybe you were right - Wikipedia, it know nothing...😉
As a racing quad/"drone" builder and pilot, These craptastic drones make me cringe! Also would maybe be worth a shot having a practice on a simulator to get a feel for what the controls do.
The drone may have a basic Horizon mode which enables it to self level. From the looks of it it won't have anything to sophisticated to aid flying. It will just take practice for him to fly it smoother. I've always wondered what the dome was in the Abby too, any update?
Ian hope you don't mind me posting this I run a drone Facebook page with the aim to help new flying get the best from there drone toy grade or more advanced GPS Drone's to racing Drone's . we help with sourcing part's and any advice we can give to new pilot's or if you know better to help every one to fly safe and stay in the air . I won't post the page without your permission. got to say I loved seeing you's try to master the mjx word of advise here that Drone is know for fly aways keep it close to you's at all time's
lmao what's the moral of the story don't buy cheap drones ?? least the phantom fly's back if goes near out of range or low on batt plus loads more stable so I'm told 😀👍👍

+Jesse Dibus wow interesting thanks for sharing :)
"Wikipedia... it's not always truth..." Something that made me smile straight away, as I know only too well how correct this statement is. 👍
If you are going to get a drone stuck up a tree it's always best to have the bloke that owns it at the controls.
Poor chaps Christmas present wrecked lol

Been watching your videos for a few weeks now, great way to learn about Dover whilst having a lough, would love to see some video of Maxton some day, keep going.
This has to be the funniest video yet. Drone stuck in the tree and it looks like it is raring up on its hind legs threatening, then it attacks Ian 😏👍

Excellent work with the drone.

Just read that other people believe its something to do with pumping water to the old fountain. I guess both sound reasonable.
+Timothy Archer thanks for sharing, got some great information:)
enjoyed the use of 'folk' in the singular
+G dizzle lol

We are good too go, mate. Your videos play flowingly now.
So a few pints then try and figure out the drone? Good fun.
Funny video guy when that drone was zooming around , I was cringing. 😃😃😃
I thought the legs and rotor guards came off to stop them from breaking?
Wouldn't fixing them on increase the risk of this happening?
That was funny made my day, I think some screwing and gluing is called for.
Great Vlog guys, im thinking about getting myself a drone
+marty51213 get a DJI drone! These ones are very hard to control
Fair do's, love these vlogs.
