From how you recovered the car from the junk yard to now is amazing. Looks great. Consider a drywall square for sizing up and cutting sheet goods. You will like this $20 tool.
I think the guy is on the pay role. Both Matt and Mike aren't really mechanics. Matt does sheet metal repairs and welding and Mike is a logistic person. Steve can do engines and wiring and maybe transmissions also.
You’re right we aren’t mechanics can’t do any mechanical work on cars… guess you missed the other cars we put together before Steve lol. Steve is a good all around helper. He can do a little bit of everything but it’s not that Matt/Mike can’t do mechanical work at all lol.
Awesome, finally some decent interior! Headliner will cut the noise even more. You're dead right, now it does look like somebody cares for it! Congratulations!
The interior makes the dash stand out and look good. Moon will look good sprawled on that back seat, too! I worked with people who had brain injuries. You do not want one. Install seat belts and use them! This is the car that got me started with Iron Trap. Still my favorite!
ey Matt, Geez, you guys nailed it with the interior for the 39 Ford Forgotten Hot Rod ! I've been wanting this car ever since you drug it out of the mud and gooey yucky stuff there in that junk yard. She's becoming a real nice car. I would be proud to be driving her all around the town. You've done such great things to this Forgotten Hot Rod. Yup, an excellent job. Great show today Matt. Thanks for the fun watching & listening to you guys, ha ha. I hope that the rest of your day is a good one . Take care and God bless you and the wife and all the guys, oh, and Moon, can't forget Moon. He's a real character, sticking his nose in crazy places. Bye for now.
Morning Matt & crew, the rubber mat is definitely a great idea, Steve's suggestion of laying the mat in the sun was spot on!! Interior looks great!! The 39 Forgotten hot rod has come a long ways!! Gonna make someone a nice rod.....also a little bit of Fame too!! Be safe!! God Bless!!!
I watched the Roadkill guys drive this car 1,000 miles with little to no problems (They mentioned that they bought it for you as well). That interior is killer. EXCELLENT JOB!
Although I was already an Iron Trap fan, the Roadkill episode brought this older build to my attention as well. Spent the last few weeks seeking out and viewing all installments on this great old hot rod. 🤟
Hey Matt and guys, interior looks great, nice colors. Well I have been looking for a 30's or 40's hot rod and bought one today. A 1948 chevy, 2 door coupe, style master, chevy 305 cu in, power glide trans, solid body and frame, black, original interior and dash, nice condition. The gentleman I bought it off has been building hot rods a long time, he's 84 and still going strong, nice guy. Your show inspired me to by an older car, very happy....Ralph
What a difference! It doesn't sound like a John boat being dragged down a gravel road anymore! Now we can enjoy the sound of that Y block, which is rather pleasant sounding.
I liked those seat covers. It reminds me of my grandparents and Delaware beach traffic. It's there to keep sand and Popsicle schmutz off the seats because rowdy 7 and 9 years olds are, well 7 and 9 year olds stuck in the back of a Buick in Delaware.
I like the original reasonably looked after look. Don't have to worry about getting scratched etc. - very user friendly and mechanically reliable. The headliner should make the interior. 🚗👍
Perfect colors on the interior - works with the present patina, plus that shade of red will allow some really sweet paint schemes if the next owner wants to paint the exterior. Mike's going to have some hard choices of which car to take to the warehouse!
Hey Matt & Mike That new upholstery is so cool. I am glad to see the car is no longer "A Forgotten Hot Rod ". You guys have brought it back to life ! Work Safe, Be Well
This car has such a great story building on it, from scrap metal to running & rolling to another cool old hot rod. Interior looks great Matt 👍👍. Incredible job. You should raffle this car off and donate some % to charity
Nice work. And personally, I'd never paint it. Given the car's history I think it adds character and helps to tell its story... "hey, look at me. I'm still surviving!"
looking good! On those vacuum wipers you may be able to make them come around. On my 47 Olds that had been sitting 40 years the wiper linkages were stuck and the seals in the vacuum motor weren't sealing. After replacing hoses PBlaster got the rest of the job done. It freed up the stuck mechanical linkages, but the vacuum motors were still not working...So for the hell of it I shot a bunch of that penetrating oil into the vacuum ports on the vacuum wiper motor and worked the wipers through their motion with and without vacuum and the darn vacuum motors came back to life!...They're still slow for the first cycle or 2 after 5 months dormancy for winter, but always come right back to life. I did the same with a used washer fluid jar vacuum pump (though I had to take it apart to deal with some rust chunks in it) and it came back too with no new parts. My only gripe is the owner's manual indicates the wiper motor is supposed to self reciprocate, and it doesn't (wipers on extends them, and off retracts them, but they stay in either position if I don't repeatedly turn them off and on when they hit either end of travel)...Once it's in more regular service I may take the vacuum motor apart and look for some kind of reversing valve and try to free it up...It's usable as is albeit not as ergonomic as it would be if they self reciprocated.
it may not shine matt , but it is a band find in a scrapyard matt it a survivor and a damn good looking survivor matt it's done now matt just enjoy it matt .
The joys of trying to do anything when you own a dog! I have 3 that constantly feel the need to "help", gotta love em they mean well lol. That interior definitely looks good.
Wow! Mike the seats and interior look so much better and I imagine a more pleasant "aroma "lol! Button up the loose ends and you have another driver. With the current body condition a feller could really daily driver this tank and not be concerned with minor scratches it may get inflicted on it. I personally would preserve the paint it does have and DRIVE the wheels off it.AL B.
I think if you can get a headliner from a company called Crown Tops out of California, if I remember correctly that is where I got mine. Have fun, it looks great.
Very enjoyable video. Great interior color choice. Really like the dark red with what looks to be a bit of random shading. Hat tip to the upholstery shop.
That looks fantastic ! Kudos to Rehab ! Really came out nice , guys , & totally pops the interior up to the next level ! This car has come a long way too ! Always good to see these old classics get a new lease on life after being forgotten for so long . Great work , Iron Trap Garage ! Have a nice weekend !
You knocked it out of the park with that interior. Really looks good, changes the whole car’s personality. Plus it’s Moon approved.
From how you recovered the car from the junk yard to now is amazing. Looks great. Consider a drywall square for sizing up and cutting sheet goods. You will like this $20 tool.
Steve was a great find 👍 he seems to be a very easy going guy 😎 and knowledgeable 🤔 great hair also 😂🤣
I think the guy is on the pay role. Both Matt and Mike aren't really mechanics.
Matt does sheet metal repairs and welding and Mike is a logistic person.
Steve can do engines and wiring and maybe transmissions also.

The smile on your guys faces told the story of how magnificent it came out!!!!
This looks awesome so far. It's come such a long way since being pulled out of the junkyard. HOWEVER it needs more Moon!!
Awesome interior the that red and black make it pop.
The rubber floor mat material look really are a nice touch.
Thanks Craig!
The old, free, plaid seat covers had great appeal to my wallet but…. The interior is beautiful and pops. Glad Moon helped out.
I like that rubber floormat material . Nice job on that .
What happy faces while you drive to lunch! Well, that’s another success, the change is RADICAL!
Awesome, finally some decent interior! Headliner will cut the noise even more. You're dead right, now it does look like somebody cares for it! Congratulations!
Floor mats look great as do the upholstery. Yes very nice!! I mean Wowwwwww
Random useless trivia: 8:53 “Luxury Liner” is the name of a Gram Parsons song.(When he was in The International Submarine Band).
Matt..gotta give Steve a raise..never fail to hear you both laughing and having a good time as you work....more gets done with less stress..
I see you mike, rockin the rivers of nihil band tee. Good taste as usual my friend.
The interior makes the dash stand out and look good. Moon will look good sprawled on that back seat, too!
I worked with people who had brain injuries. You do not want one. Install seat belts and use them!
This is the car that got me started with Iron Trap. Still my favorite!
moon is the man!
the interior looks awesome and i cannot get over how far this car has come. thanks for saving another!

Tastefully done. Door gaskets and a headliner will bring it home.
Moon is a great helper 😂😂!!!!

He is a big help!
Man! She looks fantastic with the new interior, Moon was just doing what all inspectors do, making sure you was doing the job correctly 😀
Wow, what an improvement!
We think so too!
Man...the style...and the colors are spot on for this old Hot Rod.

Haha truth
Interior looks very cool now.
This car is looking amazing considering it came out of the swamp that interior is amazing as well!!!! I’m liking it!!!!
Like the new interior. The red & black is good for the period. Like this hot rod.
I liked those seat covers. It reminds me of my grandparents and Delaware beach traffic. It's there to keep sand and Popsicle schmutz off the seats because rowdy 7 and 9 years olds are, well 7 and 9 year olds stuck in the back of a Buick in Delaware.
Great interior! love how it is not too flashy but still hot rod!
That interior is perfect for that car.
Thanks for the ride. Felt like I was in there! Joe
Amazing how complete the car looks with the interior finished. Excellent job by the local shop on the design and color combinations. Love this car!
I like the original reasonably looked after look. Don't have to worry about getting scratched etc. - very user friendly and mechanically reliable. The headliner should make the interior. 🚗👍
Inspector moon on the job he says it's about darn time I get something to ride in matt .
Love this car. Glad to see Moon checking out the inside= comic relief. Great cars and information.

Nailed it with the look!!! Add a black with red headliner and call it done .
Perfect colors on the interior - works with the present patina, plus that shade of red will allow some really sweet paint schemes if the next owner wants to paint the exterior. Mike's going to have some hard choices of which car to take to the warehouse!

Nice work. And personally, I'd never paint it. Given the car's history I think it adds character and helps to tell its story... "hey, look at me. I'm still surviving!"
We agree!
Headliner and a satin black/primer finish outside and it will be ready for springtime moonshine season😁😁😈
