UEL headers really make the Boxer Rumble shine, it’s such a good upgrade, obviously you are trading certain performance aspects but the sound is worth it imo
Unequal length actual suppose to help with that power cut after 2nd. Obviously it doesn’t completely go away. But it does help
@@alanrocks1458 nah you will lose overall power with UEL. Uneven exhaust gas pulses causes back pressure and can even damage the engine over time. Sounds good but really not efficient at all
@@bubbyj1332that’s not actually true, UEL headers can have an advantage if tuned correctly. The problem nowadays is that nobody figures that you need to tune your car when you add any sort of mod, minus exterior mods. Even something as simple as a change of tubing can require you to retune cars nowadays, since everything is run by computers and sensors. So yes you are partially correct.
@@Abaddonow2I have a STI, and have passion for racing. UEL will never have a Advantage. Other then sound. If they had a advantage every race car would have them. Even subarus own rally teams use equal length headers, and have since the 90s. The more free flowing the exhaust is the better.
@@Hazel-the-Amazon For the STI, you're 100% correct. On the BRZ, the UEL headers make a bit more power in the mid range compared to EL which makes more top end power. So UEL actually makes a bit more sense for the first gen BRZs with the huge torque dip if you're trying to make a better street car
I have a 22 WRX and wish the unequal length headers weren't a liability to the car 😢
They’re shit on every car. Yea sounds good but awful for a healthy engine

@@greenblue980 EL headers allows exhaust gas to get out one at the time from the headers which improves the perfomance of the engine a bit. UEL headers makes that exhaust gas from 2 cylinder might come out of the headers at the same time from the headers which will result is some resistance in the exhaust gas flow which makes the engine a little less efficient.
I shouldn’t have watched this cause I need those now.

Mostly deeper
Deeper in the lower rpm but raspier in the higher rpm
