Did I miss anything? 👀
hi
I don't think so
No I like your video's I will be watching you!
No...you actually even pointed some stuff out I didnt see
A point japanese twitter seemed to keep making is that because of how drastic and unexpected the decision to remove pokémon was, Game Freak should release the full Galar dex to the public so that people who're buying the game (specially those who preordered) know if their favorites are actually in. Don't know if that counts.
I'm crying at how truly AMAZING this game could've been,.the Wild area is a huge missed opportunity.
We could've had the option of climbing trees to catch maybe wild grookeys.
We could've had the option to ride our pokemons instead of using an horrible multitask bike.
It could've been so cool if, just like you said, different species of pokemons had different interactions with the world and you, like Snorlaxes sleeping, ghost pokemon appearing behind you at any time, fire pokemon burning grass or trees if you annoyed them,
Thunder type pokemons messing up your bike if you got close to them, flower inspired pokemons disguising as flowers.
Being able to get friendly with a pokemon for a short time by maybe offering it berries, and this could make you able of riding it or interacting with him in cool ways.
Hearing wild pokemons ROAR if angry.
Having wild pokemons attacking you with actual moves if you annoyed them (could be just flamethrower for fire types, thunderbolt for thunder types and on and on)
Such a missed opportunity, disappointed
Those ideas are so cool!
It could have been like the Safari zone, but in 3D and with way more fun options!
Too bad it's actually not this way.. :{
GOJISAMA I fucking hate this game

@@BustedZ2 7 Months late but that Witcher comment didn't age well and probably wasn't great at the time lol. Everything else is accurate but the Switch running the Witcher 3 is a nightmare.
Gf: its rewind time
This is just rushing a game out because “oh we don’t have a Pokémon game this year.”
Jesus Christ, I would’ve accepted a 2 year delay over this.
Leonard Byrne damn you speak for yourself and stop denying evidence
If we’re trying to be factual they’re just meeting a merchandising quota
If you wanna boycott the entirety of Christmas that’d do more to hurt them than not buying their game
@@drewsnider7352 Not an excuse. They can choose to delay a game for a few years to fix it, and people will still buy merch no matter what.
opalander
The issue is a new release ties heavily to merchandising and if they don’t release the game they also have to put merchandise on the back burner, merchandise they’ve already made and intend to sell by Christmas for max profit
I’m not saying I like what they’re doing but that’s just what they’re doing, filling a quota
Even though you would've accepted it (and so would i), the majority of this shitty, whiney fandom wouldn't have that. No matter what, people will always complain about ANY Pokémon game that comes out. They say it's shit, but proceed to buy and play it anyway. The only Pokémon game that I cannot stand AT ALL and still refuse to play is X & Y, but everyone knows why that game is a flop. Yes gamefreak are cutting corners, but in the process getting quicker games. There's no pleasing everyone
Not to mention all the hand-holding in the game, no need for an exp share, getting free heals from NPCs after one battle. It's like they dumbed down the game
At least the nurse trainers both made sense AND were placed in appropriate spots mid-dungeon most of the time.
@@legoferrari14 hahah "most of the time"
@@nina9346 Well in black and White they were usually reserved for a dungeon midpoint or the last room before the end of dungeon rival/N fight.
And it’s too easy! I don’t know if this is the norm because sword is my only Pokémon game, but one mediocre grinding session at the wild area was all I did and I oneshot everything until the third gym. And that exp sharing, let me tell you it’s way to easy to get a garydos

Jumpman 91 gotta catch what they feel like animating
The game isn't lazy pokemon games never got famous for their graphics or animatoins they got famous for there rpg play style
Meh the limited pokemon is not that bad for me,the thing i hated the most is how some of the pokemon animations isn't even moving.Like Wailord for example, he's supposed to be a whale pokemon but the dynamax is even more little than some other dynamax pokemons.
Dynamax is one of the most uninteresting concepts I've ever seen.
Because kids like COOL and BIG
Edward Hopkins You know what would have been really cool lol? If Pokemon turned so microscopic that you need a microscope to see them in battle and they’d be cell versions of themselves (kind of like Zygarde cells) fighting against each other. Idk an idea I had for a little while.
I believe it would had been a better mechanic: ALLOW EVOLUTION, NO MEGA - EVOLUTION, NORMAL EVOLUTION INSIDE THE COMBATS.
Too much pandering to kid these days, and they treat kids as id they are retards
Pokemon moved one step closer to being a generic JRPG. We have giant mechas (Dynamax Pokemon), colored spiky hair, and a sword Pokemon (I bet someone wanted to make it a Katana).
This critique sounds like it was made today, a few days after the game came out. The analysis still holds true to what to the content of the game.
Crown Tundra, which may or may not be the last DLC (it's not 100% clear) just came out a few months back. All of this is still pretty valid.
1 year later still valid GF stopped giving a shit about there game. Hopefully arceus and the remakes are better.
Arceus came out.
Old pokemon still use the same animations, there's a handful of new ones, flying pokemon look like ass when they move away from you because they dropped to like 15 fps
New battle system is a mixed bag at best, I've lost a lot of mons to people starting unexpected battles and they're running 3 pokemon at once that are all faster than my lead so it just takes 3 hits and dies instantly. Tying stats to random drops is some OG Destiny level bullshit game design, and they have less than 300 mons in the game (I'd argue effectively even less because most pokemon evolve at least once so it's effectively one mon for the price of 3 but no one else ever brings that point up?)
Basically 1 step forward, right onto a Rake Sideshow Bob style

@@DeathnoteBB I see your point and I do know that Wingull flies like that in gen 6 and 7 but... KingM why tf would you buy something without knowing what the finished product is like?
Hey it’s July 2020 and the National Dex is coming back
But ya gotta pay for it.
So yes, this is a cash grab.
5:51 The embarrassing part about this is that Pokemon stadium actually managed to properly anchor the attack animations. This is most evident when Dragonite and Ninetales are using flamethrower; the fire looks like it's coming out of their mouths despite their heads moving substantially.
Another example would be Beedrill, where its hyper beam is shooting out of its stinger.
Good points! Yup GF just fixed the beam to a static location instead of putting in the necessary work- the end result looking awful as expected
Attacks have been fixed to a certain location since the DS games. My Houndoom would use Flamethrower out of its eyes
@@EliC09 Of course, but fans have been conditioned to expect high quality/anchored animations on console Pokemon games. You can MAYBE argue that the handheld games can't work with anchored attacks, but Let's Go, Sword, and Shield basically have no excuses.
It's sad when Gamefreak gets shown up by not only Genius Sonority, but their own work from over a decade ago.
Also Clefable when it uses Hyper beam, it shoots it out of it's finger.
The game came out and nothings changed. Well, except the lag before the battle; there’s no more of that but ya everything else is the same.

Mega evolution was the best thing that has ever happened to Pokemon and its like they can turn super sayain like Goku in Dragon Ball and Z-moves are good as well giving all Pokemon a powerful move and others a special powerful move.
Harrison Klebold Z-moves aren't really a insta win.
Gen 2? Really?
1. Starters look so bad in their final evolution, will be my first time not joining a starter.
2. Mega Evolution was the best out of Pokemon, and they stupidly remove it for some awful copy of Giant Bowser.
3. Half of the Dex is gone, so as half of the best Pokemon out there.
4. A clishit storyline, probably could've done better like BW.
5. What's the point of playing in the post-game?
P.S. I hope they should not do this in the generation 4 remakes.
To be honest when I finally found about the Gala's starter Pokemon's final evolve form I was a bit disappointed because I prefer the other designs shown on goggle and on UA-cam about three months ago. Grookey's final evolve form is a version of a female monkey amazon warrior, Scorbunny's final evolve form is really cool and Sobble final evolve form version between a lizard/chameleon is very impressive. Shame it didn't happen because If i choose Grookey then it's Final evolve form of a Female warrior monkey would suit me and give Infernape a run for it's money. If you're still confuse to what I'm talking about then have a look on google image or on UA-cam for the description that I've been describing.
@@kerrygligorovic9758 I may not be who you were asking but I think I can still give a reasonable response. People are expecting Gen 4 remakes because of a general pattern shown throughout recent years. We've been getting a new gen then a remake before another new gen; this happened in Gen 3, 4 6 and 7/8 (I'm honestly not too sure which of these LGPE is) with a probable explanation for it not being in Gen 5 being BW2 basically being new games, albeit in the same region. Regardless, with the way remakes have been released so far, Gen 4 remakes seem inevitable. Of course there's no evidence but it's a very reasonable belief.

That would be too much for gamefreak to do. Considering how lazy they are reusing animation and models from previous games. What is this, Bethesda.
Really hits hard having spent years EV and IV training hundreds of pokémon, thousands of in-game hours grinding and hundreds more making notes for movesets, only to have what should be the next leap forward in a franchise I've enjoyed since I was a kid just break both it's legs and it's neck.
At least when we had to make the sacrifice from gen 2 to 3 it was justifiable that the data wouldn't be compatible between GB and GBA, it was ultimately worth it but this? There is no real reason for it, it adds nothing positive to the players experience.

Actually the main team(game freak team that was working on Pokemon for years) is right now making a new game so the sword and shiel is from the second team.I think main team thought “they already have assets they can’t fuck up” but oh boy they were wrong
Somewhat unpopular opinion, but after Sword & Shield, I think GameFreak needs to take a break from releasing mainline Pokemon games, at least give it a 3 to 4 year break. Because hear me out, from 2008 to 2019, GameFreak has been pumping out mainline Pokemon games very frequently, almost annually, to the point where they're not giving the games that much time to develop or further polish their games, whether it be them pumping out a new gen, a slightly different version of the same gen or a remake of a previous gen. I think GameFreak really needs to slow down a bit & take their time in making their Pokemon games more polished & more developed, especially since they're now dealing with a more powerful Nintendo console such as the Switch. Not to mention I noticed some fans are starting to get a little burnt out on Pokemon, which I seriously don't blame those fans. Like come on do we really need to see a core Pokemon game every single year? Do people want Pokemon to become the next Call of Duty? because I sure as hell don't want to see that happen.

"Some people unironically use Wingull's dex entry as a reason to defend Game Freak"
Here's a better reasoning:
you do know what gliding means right? to MOVE smoothly and CONTINUOUSLY along.
And if you really want to get technical: This mode of flight involves flying a significant distance horizontally compared to it's descent and therefore can be distinguished from a mostly straight downward descent like with a round parachute.
Wingull right here, is literally lacking every condition for it to be considered as either gliding or gliding flight, no movement, no air, he isn't going downward and then upward to gain speed, nothing
simplification doesnt work if it doesn't retain what characterized the original this, and it's not even slightly swaying, its literally just standing there hovering, even Pokémon Let's Go didn't tho that, they really can't just make him bend his wings even thou they are trying to convince us they got overworked on animations, and had to cut content because of that?
In other words, there are people who go as far as using a Pokédex entry to justify laziness because it "matches" when they don't even know the difference between gliding and hovering.

@@plazmatter How in the fuck is that nitpicking? You know that the graphics are one of the important things that makes a game great.
So stop these bad excuses and please for the love of God open your eyes and stop supporting this garbage company
It's not even nitpicking. Fire Emblem Three Houses looks like garbage too but it does SO much to move the series forward that people completely overlook that fact. The only interesting part of SWSH is the wild area and it is so half-assed that doesn't even come close to justifying everything else.
Hallway syndrome is one of two problems that made the Alola games very boring to me. Sure, there is a small number of hidden things, like the coast area or the ice cave on Mele Mele, but for the most part, it's "run to the goal". The other glaring issue the Alola games had was way too much talking. And I don't mean story, altough the story is way too bloated for what it is too. I mean characters literally explaining to you all a city has to offer in a long-winded cutscene before you even get to explore. This is something that made SM and USUM a chore to play and I don't expect GF to back down from that development, even if they suddenly included all Pokemon.
Pokemon was conceived as a franchise for kids. Yet it was super successful without catering to them to an absurd degree. There was no babyface NPCs in Gen1 to 3, there was no "oh my god kids could never accomplish this" concerns from Gen1 to 4, with 4 including one of the most daunting falicities to complete. There was no need to make villains over-the-top goofy-looking until the 3DS era. Pokemon as a franchise tries to do focussed marketing harder every generation, when it doesn't have to to sell millions and it honestly drives me away from the franchise
The dexit was a pretty big blow to my liking modern Pokemon, but overall, it served to me re-evaluating what I liked about Pokemon. I was an avid competitive player but I willingly scratched that because the generations that I enjoy playing are not the newest ones. It's everything from Gen1 to Gen5. Gen6 was great too, albeit it started the trend of way too much talking. So yeah, even if the dexit got revoked, I'd probably not be coming back at this point.
Sun and Moon felt like the player was in a summer camp where everybody expects you to always follow the dots on the trail instead of letting you explore the less linear paths like in Ruby and Sapphire. For example, they have people blocking pathways until you complete a trial or do something instead of having a natural barrier like a Snorlax that's also conveniently part of the quest. It's like they're watching you the whole way making sure you don't deviate from the paths and it feels like they are also trying so hard to making a more powerful game more like it's predecessors in that, for example, you can get away with adding a million trees or small mountains to define pathways and give the game a nice normal background but these newer games try to emulate the same thing while failing to hide their intentions in a more normal-looking way, like by adding just darker green grass as a reason to prevent the player from walking on it.
Bye
I have the exact same feelings about this franchise. I love all Pokemon games from Gen 1 to Gen 5. Gen 6 was kind of a downhill for me, but still the idea of Megas and a very interesting remakes of Ruby and Saphirre made up for it to some extent. Gen 7 was worse, because it felt like an one, big tutorial instead of a game, and I didn't like the idea of Z-moves from the start. But still, I liked some Alola forms and the Battle Tree was an amazing idea for an endgame (still nowhere as close as the battle facilities from the previous games lol). Gen 8 honestly looks like a joke for me, in comparison to the previous games from this series, and the Pokemon designs are getting worse too. I guess that I will pass on the newer Pokemon games, because I feel like they lack that characteristic and unique depth, which was always making the Pokemon games so attractive for the players and fun. It's a shame that Pokemon games nowadays, look like a one, big marketing products, and they're getting more and more simple and bland.

Gamefreak have been a mediocre developer since Pokemon X and Y, it's just that until now they had the excuse of only working with weak hardware.
Wasnt even a valid excuse at the time because the 3ds was more than capable of handling decent graphics and rendering
the issue is that a lot of fans kinda went with this shit on the 3ds, but now that the switch is around and we have seen amazing games like BotW, gamefreak’s laziness is really obvious.

They have a say in this, to be honest. However, Pokemon fans are so cutthroat about new mainline titles that we shunned a good game upon its reveal at E3. It has its glaring issues, but it's still gen one, and it's there to get Pokemon Go players to get back into Pokemon, which it did.

The scaling issue is what pisses me off the most.
God, same here. I feel like I could make my hardest attempt to forgive the animations and lack of ambition if at least they got the sizes right. They got it precisely right in Let's Go, so what's going on here? It feels like Dynamax and Gigantamax or whatever the hell is called is the primary culprit in so many of these disasters. They should've just added more mega evolutions alongside the pre-existing ones. This is an HD console and Wailord's still going to be smaller than the trainer characters, the GameCube games got this right as well as Battle Revolution. This is just sad.
Since I stopped caring about Sword/Shield after the devs answered "We don't care, and we won't in the future" in response to #BringBackNationalDex I didn't even notice/hear about the scaling issue.

Thing is, the pokemon games suffered since gen 6 (and longer than that with their OCD about removing fan loved features, such as the VS seeker and following pokemon), yet the players would keep returning, *so long as they could keep grandfathering in their pokemon from previous titles.* But now, without that, people see the cracks of everything else. Had they made good on their word and overhauled the models liked claimed? I think folks would be willing to understand that they may not get their pokemon for one game, but that's not the case. Instead, gamefreak has made the equivalent of a side game; an unimportant title that should be passed up until a real mainline game comes along that will give the actual satisfaction the players desire.
For this reason, I strongly suggest all Switch owners to get your hands on Digimon Cyber Sleuth. Then it won't matter how fast they are, they won't be nearly as profitable as they were in their prime. I think they need to step back and realize that if they want a consistent player base and income from their work, they need better products, not more.

@@cc-cl9zz Exactly. And I think this is something that has been going on for a while, longer than people are probably willing to admit. Blue/Red made a splash when it first came out as being unique. Gold/Silver were a major improvement on the series (thanks mostly to Iwata). But after that, the games fell into this rut of being the same exact thing with a fresh coat of paint. That's not to say it made every game after Gold/Silver bad, but they all sort of fell into the "meh, not much to write home about" category. I still cannot wait to see how the final game will come out and disappoint all those who keep saying "It's a demo". The fact people want to support a *lack of attention of "care and details"* still boggles my mind.
They will then change their narrative and say "It's fun so it doesn't matter"
Speaking of Demo, I didn't buy Omega Ruby or Alpha sapphire because I didn't like the demo. It's because in the demo, you couldn't keep your Pokémon leveled up, even though they fixed that problem in the full game.
It will be funny seeing them having a mental break down.

Witcher 3 was released for Switch. Game Freak has no excuse for any of its actions.
With all fairness, W3 was downscaled significantly.
@@ryanhirnikl5220 Nonetheless downscaled W3 has way more going on than Pokémon does.
@@ryanhirnikl5220 Witcher 3 has a much bigger world, the most amazing city of all video games and it runs on a much more demanding engine
Let us not forget Skyrim is also available for Switch.
Mr Truman Even Overwatch is coming to the Switch, yet I and others thought it would never happen but it did.
Literally one of the most profitable franchises on the planet, and this is what they put out... there's no excuse. The leadership failed
Why are you so upset about this now, it's literally exactly the same as every other Pokemon game they've ever made.
Dog God that’s the problem
Pokemon makes more money than Star Wars, DC, Harry Potter, and so many more major franchises and this is what they put out...
Troop There has never been a need for good graphics in Pokémon games. Hell, the majority of them are made of pixels. There should be no issue of it now. People justify it by saying that since Gamefreak didn’t create COMPLETELY NEW models and animations for 300+ Pokémon, that they are entitled to good-looking animations. Horse shit. We, as consumers, are entitled to nothing, as we are in their hands. Despite the national dex not being in the game, everyone who bitches about it will still buy it. Their sales will not be affected whatsoever. Any statistical discrepancy will be balanced or overweighed by how many new kids there are who are buying the new game. Kids, by the way, that don’t give a shit about how the animations or graphics look. If kids=money and kids are in the majority, Gamefreak won’t change squat. In addition, we , as the players, aren’t entitled to them changing anything.
Tired of all these whiney-ass babies. Play the game, judge after whether or not a dog shaking its ass looked good enough for your royal standards
@@HolyD2Blink Ah, the common 'snowflake' approach. I've dealt with many of you people, you all say the same thing. However, you say that their sells won't be affected however since this a high profile franchise the fan base expects more. If this continues, expect a downward spiral for the series. It's that simple.
Pokémon is THE largest grossing franchise in the world, topping Harry Potter, Hello Kitty and the MCU. They should be able to fit every existing 3ds model they have into 2 switch games. This should be a simple task when you're a billion dollar company and you have Nintendo AND Creatures backing you up. They put 800+ pokémon in sun & moon, plus mega evolution, z-moves and walking animations. What is the 3ds doing that the Switch can't? I know the Switch has its limits, but I doubt the national pokédex exceeds those limitations. By being lazy and not taking full advantage of what the Switch is capable of, they're making Nintendo look bad. We get to be angry and voice our opinions because in the end we, the customers, are the ones who decide wether or not a game succeeds. These are $60 games, how long do we have to settle for disappointment? Who wants to pay for watered down, dissatisfaction? Every generation of pokémon games has had every pokémon from every generation prior encoded into the game data, except for lets go. I really hoped that gen 8 would restore the order that go and lets go have disturbed and put my fears to rest... but the opposite is happening. Lately, it's been very hard (for me, personally) to maintain being a fan of pokémon. I'm very unimpressed. Their movies are crap, their games are lacking... everything that they pinch out of their assholes is lackluster, lately. Mewtwo strikes back EVOLUUUUUUTION does NOT need to exist at all. Go integration in sword & shield is completely unnecessary. Apparently, they thought they did something right with lets go. I still don't understand why they would feel the need to simplify an already extremely simple game like pokémon for the sake of casuals. The overworld sprites in the Wild Area are underwhelming, as is the background scenery. There's nothing too special about the Wild Area other than camera control, which is a simple feature that they could've implemented into the entire game instead of just one limited area. "Dynamaxing" and "Gigantamaxing" are sorry excuses for scrapping mega evolution. Even lets go had limited mega evolution... Those derpy excuses for pokémon games had mega evolution!!! AND FOLLOWING POKÉMON!!!! All sw&sh have going for them is the fact that there's going to be new pokémon and, for some odd reason, the new pokémon are being designed to replace existing pokémon (like Mareep & Whimsicott) that won't appear in the Galar region. Skarmory and Honchkrow as well... they killed 2 birds with 1 Corviknight. Why is that? And why are they reusing the exact same 6 year old assets from sun & moon in sword & shield? And if they had to remake every model from scratch, why would they make them the exact same? They're reusing the same models and the same animations for pokémon AND trainers, the only difference being that they've been retextured. I thought they were cutting all of these things out of the games to make way for "higher quality animations". Graphically, I see no difference between gen 7 and gen 8. It's hard to see any real differences between the two, actually. Sword & Shield lack their own identity, there's not much that sets them apart from previous entries. Gen 8 is using the exact same formula as gen 7 and just like Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield aren't going to be all that they could've been. Is it even a new generation if the story plot is indistinguishable from the previous games?? The only things that separate Alola and Galar are the gimmicks and available pokémon and the fact that Alola consists of 4 small islands while Galar is just one big island. I was expecting the next games in the style of Sun & Moon to be gen 4 remakes, not the next new generation on a HOME CONSOLE. If they weren't going to be innovative on the Switch, then they should've stayed on the 3ds a little longer instead of building up hype and expectations by saying that these games would be the "BOTW of pokémon". And a chinese bootleg mobile game should not look better than an official game on the Switch!!! I really think that GameFreak and The Pokémon Company© need to reevaluate their business strategy and get their priorities straight. Pokémon's potential is being wasted and these games are being rushed and botched because of the ignorance and idiocy of their developers. Pokémon "Sleep" is a gigantic waste of time, money and resources. It's a shame how epic and ambitious Pokémon Masters looks compared to sword & shield and it's just an app on your phone... It even has mega evolution and z-moves as well as new pokémon battle animations and even a new battle style. It would've been alot better if it was an actual spinoff game on the Switch that you could buy a physical copy of. It could've been compatible with pokémon home and could've been the answer to the national dex problem. That would've sold alot more units than lets go and the game's animated trailer would've made alot more sense. GameFreak's priorities are all over the place but sadly not in the right places. They're focusing on mobile games because they are unable to make a real game with a lifespan longer than a year, due to a lack of content and drive. Switching their focus from the main series console games to mobile spinoffs because of pokémon go has resulted in a drop in quality in the main series. And lets not forget that "Town" is, somehow, their main priority above all and is the main contributor to this shortage of quality. Everything from the cards and merch to the movies, anime and everything in between, including the mobile games, ride on the back of the main games. They would not exist without them. This unwillingness to make advancements and improve upon things in the main series could affect the overall profitability of the pokémon franchise as a whole. Of course every pokémon game will sell nicely because there will always be a plethora of indiscriminate consumers with no standards ready to throw money at anything pokémon related but milking "nostalgia" and catering to genwunners and the younger, trend bouncing noob demographic can't get them by forever... Especially when sacrifices are being made in the process. If they cared more about creativity and innovation and if they were motivated by customer satisfaction and not money, they would achieve greater long-term success. But GameFreak's decision to limit the pokédex for their own convenience and them giving priority to "original" titles and putting pokémon on the backburner, (as if pokémon isn't what made them what they are today), tells me that they don't care about their fans or the product. The only thing they care about is how much crap they can push out each year to make the most money they can in the fastest, cheapest and simplest way possible. Even if it means cutting corners. They are a money driven corporation, who throw quality and real fan service out the window. No one can convince me otherwise.
JOHN CERVANTES Pokemon needs to go a new Dev team sense Gamefreak doesn't give a shit about Pokemon anymore.
@@xlbthedemigod5662You're a dumbass
i've said it once and imma saying it again, pokemon releasing this joke of a game is like if freaking Super Mario did it, and to rub salt into the wound, their doing this after the phenomenal success pokemon go was and still is to this day; sure pokemon go isn't as popular as when it came out and for obvious reasons but you'd be living under a rock if you weren't aware of it's devout fanbase and it's so perfect at making in-game purchases. sword shield is when someone tries to make a DS game but for the switch instead and only because the DS isn't popular anymore.
