the feeling you get from achieving something like that is unbeatable, well done! i biked it to liverpool from salford and back in a day and it felt good man.
Well done. It took me 7 days to walk the Sandstone Trail over a winter a couple of years ago. If you can I'd recommend doing again in daylight. The views from Bickerton Hill are lovely and you'd get to see Old St Chad's church in the middle of nowhere before finishing off along the canal. Have you ever done the Gritstone Trail? It's nearby and absolutely beautiful. Really enjoying your channel and getaways.
I'm SO happy about this new video! I've been rapidly making my way through your videos & I had to slow down because I didn't want to run out 😂 The part in which you said "don't do over 20 miles in one day" made me giggle because that wouldn't even cross my mind to attempt so many miles 😮 Very well done though, I knew you'd make it! & I'm so grateful that you show how beautiful Britain is, I really need to visit 😍😍
Well done Liam, another great challenge done and video. The part made me laugh seeing the boggy area by the castle and wanting to turn back, the foxes were a real treat too. I hardly see any foxes in the Countryside there are loads in the towns and cities though, I have a visiting family of foxes come to my City back garden.
I love your channel Liam.. You kinda inspired me to do long hikes again although im like 20 years older than you.. The end of April I'm gonna walk from Split Croatia to Vargas Bulgaria.. From the Adriatic sea to the Black Sea across the Balkans. A route i just chose because nobody else does it :) Love and respect from the Netherlands.
@@samueltilly8528 I left Split and walked around Bosnia, crossed the border with Serbia and was treated like a pig there. The pro Russia and anti European sentiments are horrible there. I have NEVER encountered SO much animosity from police but also civilians there. So i returned to Bosnia and had some amazing hikes and experiences. So to cut a long story short. I didn't make it. But my next plan would be New Zealand from South to North if NZ opens up next year. I still walked 1150 km though.. I never walked such a distance before. And as a Dutchie i am NOT used to mountains.. My calves are still hurting :) Lost 8 kilo's too :)
Well done, Liam!!! I greatly admire your perseverance, self-motivation and authenticity whilst completing this goal. We learn so much about ourselves when we challenge ourselves. Challenge is good for body, mind and spirit and so underestimated, especially when it requires 'all' of us. You're an inspiration...
You should check out Cornwall. The coast hikes are absolutely insanely beautiful...but Cornwall is absolutely riddled with wooded rivers that often get overlooked. I set off at 5 in the morning and I hiked along the Tressillian, stunning early morning landscape aside, I actually bumped into a herd of deer and one buck actually came within almost touching distance of me as he was checking me out. It's moments like those you never forget (and i actually managed to film the whole encounter)!
All this hiking vicariously through your vids is gonna have to stop...I'm gonna have to have my own adventure! ..that was an amazing achievement 👏 your determination and fortitude are boundless. Thank you for sharing your adventures truly appreciated.
I found your backpacking across Britain video when I was isolating on Christmas Day and I’ve watched so many since. Me and my girlfriend have wanted to give up our jobs as Scientists and Teachers and do this for a while. Massive inspiration and I love that you’ve got a solar panel on the bug out Van! A PS4 away from paradise
Wonderful, motivational, energetic, personal, amusing, crazy ... Liam as we have got to know you. Thanks for taking me (us) along. It is so easy to feel personally involved thanks to your easy manner and narration. Shot, dude!
Giving me a bit of ego this lol. When I was 15 ,did a 100 mile over 3 days march and shoot so undetected as well . if anyone dropped out gear was distributed. Landed at oswestry wearing 3 sets of 58 and four rifles . For that I was allowed one round in the giant rifle with skis on it. Thanks for the nudge you've reminded me that my fittest is wrecked and I need to get it back
Awesome mate. There’s something really rewarding about proper endurance walks like that. Most I’ve done is 54 miles in 21 hours, and I was a broken man for days. Hope you had a nice chilled out day the following day 😅
Completed my first ever solo hike/wild camp along this trail last year! This video is bringing back some good memories (except the bulls of course) 😂. Love what you’re doing Liam mate, inspiration for us lot. Love from Manchester!🌲
You should do the south downs way, its a 100 mile route along the south coast with epic views of the sea for about 40% of the walk. I wild camp hiked it in 4 days last year. 30 miles on the first day then took it a little easier due to blisters.
In Germany and also other countries in europe there are events where your goal is to hike 100km in 24 hours. With the spirit of the event and with a not so heavy backpack I'm sure you could do it! It's a great and very rewarding challenge, can highly recommend it.
My wife and I did this trail but took 3 days also the cotswold way(104miles) and 100 miles of the south west coat path Minehead to Westward Ho, just loved every day of those walks.
There’s an ultra running the opposite way, Whitchurch to Frodsham. It does make it easier as there’s refuelling stops every 10 miles so you needn’t carry so much stuff, worth googling.
I’m planning on doing a 41 mile hike/walk for charity in a few months. You’re video gave me some encouragement! I will start training more seriously for my walk 😂
Well done, that's a great distance! If you ever fancy going slightly further there's a Ridgeway 40 walk down south that I've signed up for this year in May and I'm not sure If your video has reassured me or made me more nervous!! 'The Ridgeway' is the oldest road in Britain, and you take in a scenic 40 miles of it in one day. If you want any more details just let me know! Well done on that though and it looks a stunning route!
Adventure begins when you go into the unknown territory and challenge yourself. A fit man like you should be able to push 36 , no worries! I'm 60 and often push 30 around the Brecon Beacons and often more, with only water and some food, and you know what the 'slopes' are like in the Brecon's Liam, if you've been there! If not, you should visit for a few days, do your hiking and practice some map reading and compass work. It's what real men get up to boy !! )))
Love the videos mate. Definitely inspiring me to get off my ass and make the most of it. Started off by watching your Backpacking Britain video. Well in lad 👍 Just thought I'd maybe make a challenge suggestion. The South West Coastal Path. Something I have always wanted to do. Hopefully one day when I can get a couple of months off work I can give it a go. All the best ✌️
@LiamBrown Me and some mates recently hiked the Dorset Doddle which was 33 miles and we also completed that in 12 hours. We managed over 6000 feet of elevation. It’s great to see someone else taking that challenge on aswell
Love the vids lad, backpacking Ireland would be a great vid from malin head (the most northern part of Ireland) to mizin head (the most southern part of ireland
Liam you should do "The Cateran Yomp" its an event held in Scotland through the Cairngorn mountains and its 54 miles in 24 hours! Its a good little challenge :)
Thanks for another great video. I had no idea there was so much beautiful open countryside in Cheshire. In my younger days I once walked-jogged the Cambridge boundary run, which is about 26 miles, but that was in running gear. Even then I doubt if I could have managed 34 miles with a backpack!
Great effort there, Liam. Lot of mental endurance needed where the body starts to turn to scrambled egg. Longest thru-hike I managed was 25 miles, with 13kilos on my back (you DO want to cry!), So can’t imagine how you powered through those last few. Boom!
Great video, just wondering if you would ever consider trying walking through a country in a straight line like that other UA-camr has done, or something similar to that
Nice one mate. I tried this one, got as far as Beeston Castle but I was struggling by that time (getting on a bit) so I popped onto the Shropshire union canal and walked it back to Chester. Looking forward to this one, so I can see what the remaining part of the walk looked like. Keep the vids going mate, they’re brilliant 😉👍
I’ve done 31 miles in 8 hours 22 and by the end you’ve absolutely ruined and ready to just flake out. Great effort Liam that’s a hell of a walk with a day pack on your back .
I did 40+ miles in a day before for charity . Never again I stopped and rested the last 3 miles reduced me to tears and the lift back I slept and had to literally crawl up the stairs to get to bed . Fair play to you as I couldn't do it again

Amazing work mate, a proper achievement. I once did 1000 miles in a day on a motorbike, didn't plan to but got halfway there and decided instead of camp for the night I would just push on home. Some jobsworth idiot from Border Force pulled me aside at the Channel Tunnel to ask me a load of questions, I asked him why the police keep refusing his application to join and he didn't like that but eventually let me through. Worth it for the sense of achievement.
