Agree 100%, well said!! I conceal carry everyday to protect my family, the innocent and my neighbor. However, it is a last resort when other means don't work and only for deadly attacks. It is not for protecting "things" or if an aggressor has turned and "leaving", only for life or death situations, must get training.
I totally agree with you , I would never just standby while someone was trying to bring harm to my family , I would do all that I possibly could to stop them and praying at the same time.❤️
A people under '"Arms Control" are an oppressed people. Re. 1 Samuel 13:19-23 . The people of Israel were under the oppression of the Phillistines . They could not own weapons, and they had to go to a philistine to file tools ,as they were not allowed to even own a file.
A "handful" of folks are designed to abide non armament, like some men in WW 2 and Vietnam, who were medics and did not carry arms. Such folks have that right and calling. They and no one else has the right to insist I and others be disarmed and not are "allowed" to protect selves and others.
Allie, Just found your channel and love it. You are the same age as my daughter. I'm very impressed. I would question putting John Piper on such a high pedestal, though. God bless you.
hmmm as a member of gen Z I've seen a lot of leftist ideology practically shoved down our throats, and its mostly the tumblr/alternative/lgbtq+ teens that really support it and some don't really accept it but don't know how to vocalise and expand their inner opinion so follow the leftist crowd. then i get to occasionally enjoy the experience of meeting a super conservative and eloquent member of gen Z. its so exciting and we usually have same "i thought i was the only one reaction". but yeah its tough, and teachers dont help either. love from republic of ireland
With respect: "Darn' tootin" we christian folks do well to be armed and support our #2A! Not all of course because some are not of the personality to be armed nor to "take the shot." But others of us are, do and can.
Jack Wilson was not an FBI agent. Wasn't even law enforcement. He was a Sheriff's reserve, that is true, but that's not even a law enforcement position, I.E., he was not a sworn peace officer, nor law enforcement officer of any kind. He was a normal citizen, with a normal citizen carry permit, just like everyone else in the church that day that was armed.
And the reason he took a head shot wasn't because he was a sharpshooter, it was because it was the only shot he had. He even said the only reason he took the shot was because he was afraid if he waited for a better shot, the shooter might have been able to get off another shot while he was waiting. The reason he couldn't shoot sooner was because of other people in the way, and didn't have a clear line of sight. The head shot was the 1st that presented, so he took it. Thankful it worked out, and no one else was killed.

In particular, Allie, I would draw your attention to the scene at the Temple when Jesus overturned the tables. We are to defend our Temple, whenever possible. And when we are unable to physically defend our Temple or our neighbors...THAT is when we are to rely on God’s mercy and judgement. Just as Jesus did in Gethsemene. Like the Apostles or the martyrs in Fox’s Book of Martyrs. When our choice has been taken away, that is when we forfeit our lives for a greater purpose. Just as Our Lord, Jesus Christ did.
Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth"....the "biblical definition" of the ~meek~ is a person who has a sword and is quite capable of using it but keeps it sheathed unless absolutely necessary....(i.e. he's not a bully / perpetrator )
Thank you for making this video. I appreciate your views on it. I am at the crossroads of making the decision to own a firearm to protect myself. I am 53 years old and i have had a gun pulled on me twice in my life, God has been with me and as His Word says He will never leave me. I walked away unharmed both times. So here we are today - and I have an overwhelming feeling that if I decide to take up arms I am taking my trust away from God that He will protect me. You mention a man stepping aside and letting his wife and daughter be raped - but you don't mention a man that steps aside and out of God's way to prevent that situation from happening all together. We know as Christians that God appoints angels to watch over us (Hebrews 1:14). If we have a gun then what is their job? I am not saying I believe one way or the other. I am still seeking guidance on the subject. But with ALL that Jesus says regarding loving our enemies (not shooting them) turning the other cheek (not shooting them) and returning good for evil (not shooting them) and entering into Heaven happily then I still struggle that my position should be to take matters into my own hands. I thank you in advance for a prayer for me to find peace one way or the other and again I thank you for the video. God bless you.

On the nursing issue: Breastfeeding can be very hard, draining, and painful in the first few weeks. Despite successfully nursing 4 babies I have been told it "should not hurt if you do it right" by nurses and lactation consultants numerous times. Having talked to other successful breastfeeding moms, this assertion that nursing is pain free is a harmful myth. Because of this myth, I have known women to give up in frustration believing that because it hurts so they must be failing. My point in mentioning this is: 1. Breastfeeding discomfort and pain can be VERY difficult at first, but it is frontloading. The initial struggle is well worth the later convenience and health benefits to mother and baby. 2. If we are not honest about the initial investment in breastfeeding, we will lose mothers to frustration and the feeling of inadequacy. 3. I am ambivalent about FedIsBest because I have known women with difficult struggles. Several powered through, nursing and formula feeding simultaneously, pumping and feeding, and supplementing when supply just never met demand. I have also noticed that the ones that gave up quickly or never tried were often not your frontloading type. They tended to be the type for which everything was given rather than earned, more feminist minded (empowered to hand Dad the bottle), or the type with less self control. This last statement could earn me hate, but it is anecdotal. The other factor in not breastfeeding was life related. The single moms I knew or the women who were necessary breadwinners will have a much more difficult time getting support and motivation. My solutions (worth the cost to read). 1. Give women ALL the information about the benefits of breastfeeding (increased IQ, less obesity, fewer illnesses) but be upfront about how difficult it can be initially. We see other women happily nursing their older babies and assume we are mismatched with our baby when it hurts. We are not told that pain can be normal for a time. 2. Encourage women to plan for babies as best they can. Encourage them to save ahead to either stay home for a time or extend parental leave. Bring meals, offer house help, and help them clear their calendars for a time. 3. Encourage the mothers, but be empathetic to problems. Lack of preparedness and support is really crippling to a new parent who is scared, frustrated, and sleep deprived. 4. Don't forget adoptive mothers will almost always need to formula feed. Imagine judging a woman for formula feeding who is foster caring for a baby with only a day's notice (as happened to a friend). 5. If a friend really tried hard and just couldn't continue, be gracious and loving. A friend was really hurt by all the judging she received when switching to formula. We should all be very grateful that formula is greatly improved and truly save babies. Stepping off my soapbox...
Great discussion. I had this discussion with my small group following the church shooting. I purposely steered the conversation away from the constitution or practicality, because I wanted to keep it rooted in Biblical understanding. I would like to show you what scriptures we went over because there is a balance in scripture that separates what piper was saying and what you were saying. If you are interested please let me know where to email the discussion. God bless
I also hope most moms don’t make decisions out of selfishness, however as my daughter gets older and I’m around other parents and hear their conversations, I’m learning that far more moms force sacrifices upon their children than the other way around outside of Christian culture. And then other moms sit and laugh about the moms saying they are done being a parent 😳
I would love to see a video on the mom culture. I'm becoming a new mom myself and I get recommended these articles of mothers saying how much they hate being a mom on Facebook all the time, its really discouraging. I get that all days aren't gonna be rainbows and sunshine but it makes you feel like you can't even say your happy you have a little one on the way without everyone telling you how horrible its gonna be. Its like come on if its really that awful why do people have second babies.
Seems ironic that the first analogy you go to is a hypothetical rape of a wife or daughter and the right(choice) to protect them when pro-life people are the first to talk about the low statistical % of rape victims who get abortions and why that is not a sound argument for being pro choice. You also talk about being someone who can be completely uncomfortable with owning a gun but still supporting the 2A based on the liberty placed by the founding fathers... is it not then possible to be pro choice and be completely uncomfortable with abortions yourself? Know that you yourself would never get an abortion but still support the right for someone else to choose without judgement? You also give the example of the single mother in a violent neighbourhood having the ability to protect her family and being sure not to judge her... do you see the connection? I know that what you will say is abortion=murder. What are guns if not weapons to kill?
I think people should still be allowed to defend themselves (and others obviously). The bible says that we are all different organs of the same body. I think that means that God doesn't intend for us all to be the same. If He wanted us all to be able to rebuke evil using the Holy Spirit then He would bless us all with the Holy Spirit but given my own struggle with trying to be on that sort of level I think God still wants every type of Godly person there was previously. Protectors, hard workers, the ministers or pastors who would be those selfless ones we are talking about. As long as we are doing it in a godly way, or trying to. Jesus also doesn't tell Luke not to kill anyone, he knows that it would be futile because there were a lot of soldiers and He knew that He was supposed to go with them so He told Luke to not even try.
To me not defending ourselves also conflicts with the belief we shouldn't be involved in politics. If everyone has a responsibility to make the environment around them better then of course we need to be involved in politics. But of course like anything else we need to do it in a godly way. I believe that people can be many different kind of protectors, ones in business, legal matters, physical protectors, spiritual protectors and political protectors. If we dont push against the evil it will come for us any way it can because the devil is an intelligent being. If we abdicate personal protection and political protection then we have no reason to believe our country will remain a righteous one to do things like combat regimes like the nazis or iran in the future.
Use of force is always justified in defence of others. Else your neglecting your call to be responsible. To demand passivity is to make a commandment of neglect and dereliction. If you study the Bible in whole you see killing can be just. I mean the death penalty was introduced by God. God does command the execution on specific persons in the old testament. Unilateral passivity or even a prohibiting on all killing would make Gods own word fallible. If Christ came to abolish killing he did a bad job of communicating it. While he doesn't advocate for violence he didn't explicitly or unilaterally condemn it.
Im an armed Christian. I pray I never have to use my gun against a human being, but I will defend myself, my home and anyone else I can. That pastor can bite me.
A few other things with this delay of marriage is that people don't think biblically enough about sexuality and the blessed call of parenting and discipling. I bet that if you could convince people that any sexual expression outside of marriage is a sin against God even if it's masturbation or pornography, and that boyfriend/girlfriend relationships are not biblically permissible so they actually have no right to be hugging, kissing, spending alone time with members of the opposite sex, etc, they would be more willing to mature and marry quicker. Why do you think there was an issue in the church at Corinth with sexual immorality? God has ordained one purpose of marriage to be to abstain from sexual morality (not just coitus), and to sate those God-given urges in a pure, appropriate and loving manner. People just don't think seriously enough about sex. Also, people don't consider it a blessing to raise up a godly heritage for the Lord; they don't see it as spreading the image of God and potentially building his kingdom and glorifying God through saved children. Most people just want to have babies because they want someone cute to look at or for pride's sake. Financial deficit is a reasonable deterrent that doesn't get talked about enough, but at this point in society, the fact that people don't see that college for the most part is a scam that causes more harm than good even if you do get a degree and a job, is really unfortunate and ridiculous. People's values are in the wrong place and they don't think that casual sexual practices are wrong.
Please would you do a video debunking the channel God is Grey. The amount of deception that the channel puts out is shocking. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Can you please talk about the Virgin Mary and your thoughts on her? I just became Catholic and I feel like God was calling me to venerate her but I came from a Protestant background and kinda feel confused. Thx from Texas
I'll share mine... Mary was no more nor less important a figure in HIStory than you or I are, nor more or less a saint (if you are born again you are a "saint"... set apart, holy). She was called by God the same as you and I were called by God... according to His good pleasure. She responded to Him in faith the very same manner that you and I should respond to Him. She absolutely should not be worshipped nor venerated anymore that you or I should be... which, we shouldn't. She was a sinner saved by grace no more or less than you or I. Any prayers directed to her or in her name is straight up blasphemy. There is only One intercessor between God and man (1 Tim 2:5), and His name is Jesus. He is God. Blessing to you!
AwakenTruth111 I guess I just don’t understand why we can’t honor people through out God’s plan and try to emulate them as we would emulate some one like Allie. I never said I prayed to Mary nor do I ask her for prayers, but I do not see an issue with loving Jesus’ mama like I would love my own...
cmclark2013 Lovingly it isn’t Biblical to hold Mary in a high position, the ONLY one we should seek to emulate and seek to become more like is Christ. When we are saved we are a new creature, we are made new and as we grow in our faith we continue to become more Christlike. Also Catholics do not believe that Scripture is the sole authority for us here on Earth which is also NOT Biblical. Allie has sort of debunked the Catholic faith in a past episode. Hope you come back to your Protestant faith. I don’t say this to be hateful at all.
In John chapter 8 John describes a time when Yeshua stopped a crowd from stoning an adulteress to death. Yeshua did not use a firearm but rather the sharp sword of his words. In John chapter 18 John describes that the apostle Peter was carrying a sword when Yeshua was betrayed in the garden, and Peter used his sword to cut off a centurions ear. In Matthew chapter 10 Yeshua stated "Do not assume I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." This was not hyperbole. Yeshua was describing the times and battles that are coming, as described in the Book of Revelation. And we must all decide which we will be on, which side we will fight for. For fight we will.
You must produce what your faith permits, those who do not believe in carrying gun should not carry a gun, because he believes in it not, a man who believes in carrying a gun may carry a gun because he believes in it, the one who does not carry a gun is greater in faith than the one who does, let the one who carries a sword uphold it in all righteousness, whether you carry the sword or do not, righteousness must be upheld, those who live by the sword will die by the sword, this is the one who is ruled by the sword, but the one who is ruled by love and carry the sword, wield it in righteousness to protect the weak from the violence of evil men, Christ boosted of the centurion and his faith, being the greatest in all Israel, how can a Centurion have greater faith than the church, the man who brings forth the kingdom of god should never carry the sword, because God is his protector, God is his Fortress, he must be transformed into the image of the Christ, and the Christ did not carry the sword, he trusted his father for all things. what of the shooting in the church where one of the security guards shot the assailant who drew a shotgun and shot a pastor and someone else, where was the faith of the pastor, Christ said to his disciples, why did you fear, you of no faith, when fear strikes your heart you have no faith, because there is no faith in fear.
I’ve never carried a gun and never had my life threaten and even the people from my church who have been assaulted are still alive; I rather believe more in God than on common sense.
Our rights are nothing compared with the rights of God. "Vengeance is mine, I WIlL REPAY." So whoever thinks that he/she must defend themselves, or avenge wrongs, takes upon themselves the work that belongs to God alone, and shows that he/she thinks they are better able to manage their own case than the Lord is. -- "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head" (Romans 12:20).
You're right baby girl as usual...I can't stand there and watch the devil execute his plans of murder... especially in a church .... I'm going to be loud and proud Detroit style with my .44 magnum
Its not the devil. Its a human being with very dark thoughts and his gun. Your the only country in the west that need to militarize your churches. If you need to take a gun to church, you need to ask yourself what's gone wrong in my society? Been going to Church in Australia for 50 years, never have I thought about taking a weapon. What a fucked up country you all live in.
We should also arm ourselves and loved ones with Jesus, The Word of God. Protect your home and family by using the wisdom of God in Deut. 6:8-9 Psalms 119:151 Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5 The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1 The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13 and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart. Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. With obedience to The Father in Deut. 6:8-9, The Father anoints us with His Word, putting us in His Son, The Holy Spirit. Build up the body of Christ by 'putting on' The Lord. Cling to, dwell in the law (Ten Commandments) and testimony (Sermon on the Mount). We know His voice. His words are spirit and they are life. Hear Him. Prepare for your future and the life of your loved ones. As Paul tells us, "put on Jesus." Cling to, dwell in the Truth, in life.
The question to the video was: Should Christians own guns? Your response was, I am assuming, an answer to that question. And this is your support for claim that we’re “almost commanded to do so” ... 11 [d]In them the king granted the Jews who were in each and every city the right to assemble and to defend their lives, to destroy, to kill and to annihilate the entire army of any people or province which might attack them, including children and women, and to plunder their spoil, Interesting.
Does Heaven have warriors? Every one has different opinions on self defense. It's when you think your views are the only correct ones is where the problems start. Our country was founded by people who had lived such things that the Liberals are trying to bring back. We have the best country in the world because of the Constitution. Our forefathers were very experienced in tyranny and oppression from the ruling class. Nothing has changed! The only thing protecting our freedoms is the very thing they're trying so hard to take. I applaud you for trying to be like Jesus and sacrifice yourself and your family. That is your choice. I will defend the Constitution so you can have the choice to continue to do so.
Jesus let His enemies rob, rape, and muder Him. He even asked His Father to forgive them. How great is Jesus's holiness, mercy, and love. There is none lime Him.
1 Timothy 2:12 I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead, she is to be silent. 13 For Adam was created first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and transgressed. 15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if she continues in faith, love, and holiness, with good judgment.
Of course. Christians have a right to defend ourselves as much as anybody.
Great woman i admire you

A simple answer, absolutely.
“God made man, Sam Colt made men equal, but John Browning keeps men free.”
I'd love to have a friend like you (sighs). You talk so much sense and still have humility to be convinced otherwise. Kudos

I am glad to hear you are thinking for yourself and not swallowing everything John Piper says in toto. He is not always right, as is true of us all!
Good is stopping heinous evil in the act.

We may have to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. Also for us to defend our family and friends from criminals
I agree with you Allie
Im an armed Christian. I pray I never have to use my gun against a human being, but I will defend myself, my home and anyone else I can. That pastor can bite me.
Absolutely they should. And do!
Yes. Full stop.
Amen girl
For fight we will.
a rather silly question but I concede some people are compelled to ask. and rightly so.
I'm pretty sure Jesus told the disciples to buy swords, and if they couldn't afford them, to sell their clothes to buy them.
You must produce what your faith permits, those who do not believe in carrying gun should not carry a gun, because he believes in it not, a man who believes in carrying a gun may carry a gun because he believes in it, the one who does not carry a gun is greater in faith than the one who does, let the one who carries a sword uphold it in all righteousness,
whether you carry the sword or do not, righteousness must be upheld, those who live by the sword will die by the sword, this is the one who is ruled by the sword, but the one who is ruled by love and carry the sword, wield it in righteousness to protect the weak from the violence of evil men,
Christ boosted of the centurion and his faith, being the greatest in all Israel, how can a Centurion have greater faith than the church,
the man who brings forth the kingdom of god should never carry the sword, because God is his protector, God is his Fortress, he must be transformed into the image of the Christ, and the Christ did not carry the sword, he trusted his father for all things.
what of the shooting in the church where one of the security guards shot the assailant who drew a shotgun and shot a pastor and someone else, where was the faith of the pastor, Christ said to his disciples, why did you fear, you of no faith, when fear strikes your heart you have no faith, because there is no faith in fear.
In God we trust with guns we enforce.
You're right baby girl as usual...I can't stand there and watch the devil execute his plans of murder... especially in a church .... I'm going to be loud and proud Detroit style with my .44 magnum
Darn straight
Its not the devil. Its a human being with very dark thoughts and his gun.
Your the only country in the west that need to militarize your churches.
If you need to take a gun to church, you need to ask yourself what's gone wrong in my society?
Been going to Church in Australia for 50 years, never have I thought about taking a weapon.
What a fucked up country you all live in.
We should also arm ourselves and loved ones with Jesus, The Word of God.
Protect your home and family by using the wisdom of God in Deut. 6:8-9
Psalms 119:151
Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart.
Psalms 40:7
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me
Hebrews 10:7
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Of course they should
the bible says you shouldn't get involved in a dicussion between men the bible is very clear that women should be silent
The most Godly people I know, all own guns. And I have a couple...
Yes.
Our natural rights come from our creator.....they are NOT A GIFT OF GOVERNMENT !!!!
Yes! They are almost commanded to!
Scripture to support this thought?
@@gloriagam2874 Yes actually, do you want me to find it?
@@gloriagam2874 Esther 8:11
The question to the video was:
Should Christians own guns?
Your response was, I am assuming, an answer to that question.
And this is your support for claim that we’re “almost commanded to do so” ...
11 [d]In them the king granted the Jews who were in each and every city the right to assemble and to defend their lives, to destroy, to kill and to annihilate the entire army of any people or province which might attack them, including children and women, and to plunder their spoil,
Interesting.
@@gloriagam2874 The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth new life ;) Think with the other side of your brain, for a second
Yes he should defend his wife and daughter
Jesus commanded us to, "Love our enemies" but he did not say to let them rob, rape and murder us!!
Jesus let His enemies rob, rape, and muder Him. He even asked His Father to forgive them. How great is Jesus's holiness, mercy, and love. There is none lime Him.
I actually read that Gen Z is the most conservative generation in a very long time
I'm a Christian and a member of the NRA
Yes Christians have the right to carry
Love you
God may have made all men but Samuel Colt made them equal.
I know of a guy near me with enough guns to arm my neighborhood,I like that guy.
