If you have an untrained dog, you have no business letting it out from the car unleashed when you're visiting a neighbor's farm with free ranging chickens. How she could have committed that mistake, what with knowing how the dog responded to birds in the wild, and with her supposed experience from growing up on a farm, is beyond my comprehension.
I grew up on a ranch. We never shot an animal for misbehaving or smelling bad. We trained them, sold them, or cleaned them. Dear God what a narcissistic maniac.

Kristi Noem could have easily called dog whisperer, Cesar Milan. He would have jumped at the chance to film an episode or two of training her on how to correctly behave with her dog.
Yep, we got our rescue doggie, Roxanne when she was around 2, and she was not house trained. It literally took 2 weeks with lots of positive affirmation when she would do her business outside, and put outside the minute she messed in the house with the bag or rags used to clean up her mess. Never mean, never scolding. She got it. I adopted another rescue, Junebug who was 8 and never house trained. Oh, man, it took a year. That old adage about not being able to teach an old dog a new trick...it's was rough, but we did it. My point is at 14 months, I could teach that dog to do anything. Noem is stupid and lazy and cruel. She should be banned from ever having a dog again.

Back in the early 1960’s my dad got a couple tree harvesting machines (skidders) so did not need horses to pull logs out of the bush for his sawmill. Still he kept his horses for a long time. They were fed and kept in stables with a small yard in the winter and were in a large grass field for about 8 months of the year. The last 3 horses had to be put down in the mid 1970’s due to their old age and near end of life. My dads eyes were red with emotion when their health no longer made it possible to keep them. I recall my dad saying how the horses like to work when treated well and appreciated. It touches me to think that he would not as significant cost and time abandon his horses when no longer needed. It was a true friendship.

They couldn't do it while he was in office because he would have pardoned himself. Then we would have had a whole thing about if that is legal, it would have been a mess. They couldn't start collecting evidence until he was out of office and that takes time, especially if you need it to be ironclad. Then Trump did everything he could to delay the trial until after the election. We can only be grateful those efforts were thwarted.
