The TOF.1 Rangefinder for Teradek RT is a small, lightweight infrared (IR) rangefinder that provides constant distance measurements between objects and a camera’s focal plane. Connect your TOF.1 with the MDR.X Lens Control Receiver to provide distance readouts on CTRL.1 or CTRL.3 wireless handheld controllers. With a sensor refresh rate of 60 times per second, precision autofocus can be activated on your handheld wireless controller with a simple on/off toggle button for quick access to automated lens adjustments. #followfocus #filmmaking

Can you change to metric?
so when I run this I can only run two motors? bc it takes the center motor port
You can daisy chain your motors so you only need 1 motor port to control all of your motors!
Unless you don’t have motr.x, then yes you can only run two motors
Does it have follow focus ?
It has auto focus but it doesn't track subjects across the frame. The infrared sensor sends a direct beam to a specific area of the frame and keeps focus on that area. Let me know if you have any other questions!
How is this working with multiple characters on set ?
Typically, the TOF.1 focuses on one subject at a time. LED infrared beams measure the distance of subjects within a 3 degree field of view of TOF.1’s proximity sensor, at a direct line-of-sight range of up to 80ft. 3 degrees is fairly narrow. The overall radius of the sensor’s field of view will narrow or widen as a subject moves toward/away from the camera. On page 7 of the quick start guide, there’s a diagram showing the diameter of the detection radius at different distances. The circle is about 10 inches at 16ft. See quick start guide here: d1xl95ab8ijfds.cloudfront.net/Public/RT/Docs/Teradek%20RT_TOF.1_Quick_Start_Guide_v.1.2_1120_web.pdf
If you wanted to track multiple subjects at the same time with our TOF.1, the subjects would need to be pretty far away from the sensor, and at the same distance. If the two subjects are at different distances, you wouldn't want a single value for both.
@@Teradek Would love to see some detailed demo video on a set with more characters.
