Knowing now that the Austin we all loved is pretty much gone makes me tear up at times. We knew it was special, we didn't know how lucky we all were. JJW was pure wonderful.
I’m not ashamed to admit that this song makes me cry. It reminds me and my wife so much of my mom, who we lost a long time ago. She loved this song and birds. We were privileged to see Jerry Jeff at the 1974 Willie Nelson picnic.
Had a chance to see Jerry in Belize , I'll always remember walking up to the bar and Jerry was walking right in front of me carrying his guitar we walked in together .
When I think about his passing there is a sense pervading loss. I always appreciated his music I suspect more than most. at least we can listen to Little Bird and Desperados all we want.
As a kid I grew up listening to Jerry Jeff walker from parents play his albums. I got a chance to see him live in 2006. To me he was so underrated and here in Arizona never got any radio play and what a shame too. To many great songs to list as my favorite. Backsliders wine you can hear the sarrow, pain and anguish of a real life experience. You will be dually missed sir, thank you for the music. Gods speed.
This was my daddy's favorite song of his. As his life was winding down, he'd ask me to put it on for him. He loved birds and the quiet of mornings. When I hear this it brings a smile of those last, precious days with him. Thanks for posting it.
This has always been one of my favorite songs. It has special meaning now that a lot of my ‘life has past & love is but a thought.’ Thanks for all the good times, Jerry Jeff. 💔🙏
My dad used to sing this to me when I was a kid and we moved from Wyoming to California. It has never left my mind - the lyrics hold meaning more than ever.
thereal MCPM Funny to hear the same sentiment for another. Was a staple road trip tape in my moms truck when I was little. Resonates deeper since I’ve been listening to it on my own time. Cheers.
I just love how songs like this go on like the pace of a train rolling down railroad tracks. Jerry's music is oh so pleasant. I can't get enough. Yes, is it tears (we) see, or is it rain?
kmgsage My heart is so heavy. Lots of memories. Got to meet him a few years back. My dad played in Luckenbach and I have a pic of Dad and Hondo. JJ and Hondo were very close. I was able to show the pic to him and he got a good chuckle. 💙

Hey! I miss him and his style too. But, I'm a thinking his attitude should be what we remember and love!
First song I had to hear when hearing we lost Jerry Jeff Walker. RIP, what an ambassador. Texas Connection TV show in the 90's. Love you, JJW ❤️

A little boy and a little girl. First love. So long ago. No sorrow, no pain, just a little bird on the window pane.

Also had it on 8 track, when first released, playing in my used '66 LeMans ragtop. ;)
RIP JJW 😢

Lots of little birds, in the window pane....i know that it's tears, it isn't rain...d
to all my old girl friens
. . that is from 2 songs . . . Blowin in the Wind and City of New Orleans.
I heard this song when it first came out. what about the commander
Commander Cody is still one of the best
I've often wondered about Jerry Jeff's relationship with Willie Nelson. I'm pretty sure that it was a mutual respect
One of scamp walkers best but the "live at gruene hall" version is the best
Maybe, but I just LOVE that fiddle and pedal steel interplay on this version.
Whatever happened to ol' Herb Steiner, and Mary Eagan?
Where is Jerry Jeff Walker now in 2019? Anyone know?
Saw him a few years ago near Seattle. He’s still got it. jerryjeff.com
He just died.
