I just bought the 56pc set. Last week. Bulletproof. Now im getting the $499 153pc set. Its so bomb squad. Then before the year is over. Im getting the m12 torque wrenches. Thats stone cold Steve Austin.
Adam Savage did a review on a very similar set from Milwaukee and he was really thrilled about the fact that it wasn't in a blow-molded case and the whole set in the case was super low-profile. He raised some good points about the majority of blow-molded cases being just enormous, and their tool retention is almost always too tight or worthlessly loose. I was gifted a very nice craftsman socket set and the case is just gigantic. It doesn't fit in any toolbox I own, and I have to wedge it to get it to fit in the entire floorspace of one of my seats in my 01 Jeep Cherokee. I've had the set for a few years and the tool retention is still agonizingly tight, and some of the less-used bits like the 4mm deepwell require a screwdriver to pry it free from the case. I've been eyeing these socket sets for a while now and you might have convinced me to pull the trigger.
I avoid Milwaukee power tools in preference for Makita and Dewalt (except for Milwaukee 12V drill driver set 👍), but I have slowly been accumulating Milwaukee hand tools. Home Depot has this set on sale for $99
I searched for this at acme tools and it comes with a 9004 set. Which is 3/8 deep well and short well metric and standard it was $229 it comes with everything you have in this Home Depot kit but for $100 more you get soooo much more shit. The kit was MRSP $400
Philip A bit late to help you, but the following measurements from my own set might assist future potential buyers. 1/4"-3/4" standard sockets are approx 28mm long 13/16"-1" standard sockets are approx 30mm long All metric standard sockets are approx 28mm long All deep sockets are approx 63mm long In general, the length of the hexagonal recess is only a quarter to half the length of any socket, but is rather inconsistent. More specifically: All standard sockets - 9-14mm recess 1/4-3/8" deep sockets - 16mm recess 7/16-1/2, 5/8-7/8" deep sockets - 24-27mm recess 9/16" deep socket - 22mm recess 6-10mm deep sockets - 16mm recess 11, 13-17, 19mm deep sockets - 24-28mm recess 12, 18mm deep sockets - 19mm recess
Great tool review Ben. I think I might pick up a set for myself too for the same reasons that you pointed out. One thumbs down is what D. Orozco mentioned below.... btw, can I PM you later tonight?
Have you looked at Tekton recently? They have some great deals on no-skip socket sets. If you buy direct from them online they offer free shipping and 10% back rewards. They also offer some USA made tools now.

Pretty impressive set. I see where this would be handy. Love that removable tray as well. Great video 👍
I think that is the feature I like the most.
Just bought this set from northern tool on sale for $99.99 plus $20.00 coupon. $80.00 was a steal.
This set is $28.58 on amazon right now....not sure if it's a price error. I just ordered two!
Just curious what “high end” brand has square profile sockets? I’ve not seen any.

These are $99 right now at Home Depot Black Friday

Watched 5 different videos, no one shows the inside of the deep sockets. Does it have a shoulder or does the nut/bolt go al the way inside the socket

I haven’t yet, but I’ve been hearing really good things about them. Thought about getting some of their stuff.
Would be better if it had a longer flex head ratchet
It looks pretty good but for $180 ill pass i think they could sell a bunch for $80
Prices always come down eventually, might be a good Black Friday deal.
