Hi Tia! Thanks for the update on Tanya, hope she recovers soon and regains her strength & skills. If I’m not mistaken you had mentioned both of your parents also having suffered debilitating strokes. ( or maybe just your dad? idk ) Either way could this be genetic? Should you and your siblings get checked for some stroke predispositions and maybe can be on some sort of protocol to lower the risk? Just a thought ;) take care sis
Tia, I am sorry to hear about your sister, Tonya! I will be praying for her daily for healing. My husband had a brain stem stroke in 2019 and he was impaired on both sides. Went through intensive PT, OT and SP therapy. He also had double vision in both eyes and now only in one eye. And today he is great! Your sister can do this with everyone praying for her. I’ve had a stroke too, I had to have the medicine that you get after you have a stroke. Then they moved me to another hospital for the surgery, I came through doing ok. I had a little bit of physical therapy but not much. My only lasting effects is my walking is now more of a short fast shuffle of the feet, they don’t drag just imagine the cartoon characters walking fast and the little cloud pops up at the feet!! That’s me!!! Lol and I still have trouble remembering things. I’m sending all my hugs and prayers to your family in this time of healing ❤️🩹

One thing I did after my dad had a stroke was create a photo album with all the family pictures and names next to the picture. He was having a hard time putting names with faces.
