Update from the hospital…
I am afraid it's not good news about the beautiful buzzard. Sadly whilst being triaged thoroughly by our head vet, she found that the bird had suffered severe nerve damage to its left leg, which had been badly fractured due to the impact force of the accident. This was something that was not viable for any form of treatment or repair so she was forced to sadly have to gently put the bird to sleep.
Thank you, however for travelling the injured bird to our hospital. Without you taking the time and care to do so the bird would have suffered immense pain and suffering with a prolonged, painful and stressful demise. You did the kindest thing to seek our help for it, after what was, a tragic accident.
And thankyou for contacting us for an update also. I am sorry to have had to share such sad news with you.
You’re probably the only person on the planet to get hit by a bird on a bike and just casually say “come on fella” 😂
Exactly what I was thinking. I had a pigeon slap me in the chest at like 30mph on a honda xr125 and all I could say was "HEURGHHH" proper knocked the wind out of me and I had to pull over 😂
Mate of mine hit a fox at 30 and it ripped the front end off of his sv650, these little guys are made of bricks I swear
@mozzogonewild5378 I said to say “come on fella” and I’d bet my life savings you didn’t say it either time.
@mozzogonewild5378 yeh so I’m even more sure he’s still the only person to say “come on fella”, which is what I was saying. 😂
@mozzogonewild5378 highly doubt it.
@mozzogonewild5378 yeh you’re just a bit weird pal, what was the point in any of this waffle lmao?
This is the kind of person worth fighting for.
Someone who represents the true side of human decency.
Top bloke! 👏
Thank you
@@Gruffaloscoot no, thank you.
Seasoned rider, no dramas just dealt with the situation. Well done Sir.
We haven’t had any dramas for years 👍🏻👍🏻
No drama is how I live my life too brother, until other people attempt to volunteer their drama for my life....notice how "attempt" is the operational word
Well done Neil first bird you’ve pulled in a while 😀

I didn't get the joke until @@Gruffaloscoot laughed 🤦🏻♀️
That's fucking hilarious 10/10 comment.
Was it niel or was it the bike though?

When Kev the kestrel finally made it home to the wife, he had to explain where he had been for so long. He came out with a crazy story of being captured by an alien and taken to the mother ship to be experimented on. He is now known as Kevin the crank
I think he calls it Kes not Kev lool after the movie about a kestrel called funny enough, Kes. Just for more info all be it pointless , it happens to be Karl Pilkingtons favourite movie as well.
Sounds like an odd excuse for cheating with another kestrel
buzzard
See it just goes to show there is still some good in the world and not everyone is evil as .... Bless ya matey
Wicked Kevin
1400cc bike in one hand with a Bird of prey in the other? Once in a lifetime experience but this guy is just like "Come on little fella" 😂 legend. Subscribed 👍🏻
Appreciate the sub. Thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻
That's one lucky kestrel, thank you for taking care of him😊
It was my pleasure
buzzard
@@AR-uj2qb Buzz off (even tho you're right)
@@AR-uj2qbMy friend that was a hawk.
@@SilvaDreams Naming difference. It was a UK buzzard ... in USA it would be called a hawk ... . (Note the terminology used by the vet as above ... it's a buzzard.) either way it wasn't a kestrel.
I've seen it before, where a wild bird is first alarmed by a man. But the man keeps talking and acting calmly. And in a few moments, the bird just calms down. And it's clearly listening to the voice. This is another impressive example.
It's almost like there isn't just an instinct of fight or flight, but there's another instinct of hanging out with friendly giants.
so if you happened to get captured by a 50 meters tall titan, and he started to talk to you as if you were a cat or smth, you would instinctively listen? I mean i would've too but im just asking
no dude, it was just stunned by the impact.
We love to project our human emotions to other animals who just don't give a sh*t, he was actually just stunned and probably heavily stressed. He knew he didn't have any chance against the man.
The fact that they have enough brain for us to be "giant monkey dangerous but sometime they let us be so we stay afk & see" is theyr mojo & the more dumb animals always freak out & the"more intelligent" tend to "afk" ?
Ain't a creature on the world that can hear you at 40mph with you lid on and visor down.
Totally unbelievable. Thank you for looking after this beautiful creature 🥰
Don't think I've ever laughed so much at a biking video. Firstly the way you reacted when it hit you like it's a daily occurrence, then how you just take it for a little ride. And then putting it in the panier haha 😂
Pannier was best place for him. I checked on him a few times on the way to the hospital. He was quite happy in there
@@GruffaloscootIt's like he knew 🤔
And then how it died? Really funny that is
the casual way he and the bird acted got me, like it was normal, and they've done this many times before
Awww. Thank you for caring enough to take him to the vet. I honestly thought he’d died when he hit you. So many people would have just tossed him on the side of the road without a second thought. You’re a true kind soul and I hope karma repays you :)
Thank you. A few of those people have appeared in these comments. Thankfully not many.
What a natural.
The care you showed was heart warming.

Fantastic of you, nice to know there are still caring people around well done sir you are a star ⭐️👍
Thank you kindly
That was brilliant! I hope that Kes made a full recovery after his ordeal. Respect to the biker for showing compassion for a wild animal and doing the right thing. Definitely a 'Feel good' video.
Why’s everyone calling it a Kestrel, not even close. It’s not a falcon but a Common Buzzard.
I'm afraid it didn't. Read the description of what happened to the buzzard.
Neil doesnt sound thst ukrainian
This is a genuine thank you for caring enough to take the buzzard to a wildlife hospital. There was no hesitation in your kindness and sadly that’s something we are seeing less and less of towards our wildlife.
You have behaved most exemplarily towards this bird,
you have done your best for him and that can only honour you.
It's Sad for the bird, I thought just like you that he would have a chance to get out of it.
Thank you for your video which shows that there is still humanity left on this world.
Thank you.

Thanks for helping the poor bird with a broken leg. Awesome that you have such respect for the wildlife! Great job man!
Very good effort. Little fella got a free pillion ride on the GTR

@@C_Xx7xX thanks I try to be. Occasionally it works.
Well done. While riding in France I picked up a Tawney owl that was sat helpless in the middle of the road. I rode for many kilometers before I was lucky enough to find a sympathetic vet who took him in. The owl was so placid & cooperative I didn't get so much as a scratch.
What a gentleman you are.
Such a beautiful bird.

Best biking video I've ever seen. That lil dude is living his best life 😂
He was loving it. Apart from the being knocked unconscious and the broken leg. Be yeah he was ace
Well played, Neil. Top man!
1982 NSW Australia ,i found a very young wedge tailed eagle caught in a fence and stopped my dirtbike to help try and release this beautiful bird ...........next minute a fkn HUGE eagle swooped down like a Stuka and damm near tore my helmet of my head ,i shat and told dad who freed the eagle stuck in the fence with mum waving a post hole shovel like some banshee
NOW TAHTS A STORY TO REMEBER !
Well done saving the buzzard (not a kestrel)! Amazed it survived the impact- I’ve had a few bird strikes over the years and none of them survived but they were all much smaller than a buzzard.
Thank you Sir. Amazing example of care.
Thank yu so much for your love and care for our fellow creatures ❤
This is the coolest video I've seen all day, how nice of you to care and look after that beautiful bird

He killed the bird with his pathetic bike
You are a true gentleman. Please post an update when you know sweat the outcome is.
Sadly the little fella didn’t make it. His leg was too badly broken to fix. He would have suffered terribly had I not taken him in though so there is that I suppose. It has made me very sad.

@@suzisandpiper I’m still sad about the outcome but as you say better that then the alternative.
Excellent & such a caring biker, you are a credit to the motorbiking fraternity. 👍
That was a very lucky bird, for it to hit you who just casually looks after it is truly wonderful. Thank you.
Poor birdie 😭 I read what happened, but the fact that you checked it over and took it to the vet shows how pure of heart you are.
One of our cats quite a few years ago plucked a pigeon bald and left it on the brink of death, so many wounds. No one in my family had the heart to put it out of it's misery. I tried, but I couldn't take it's life, I wish I had now it might have not suffered as much. Our first cat tried to help a small injured bird, she was so motherly.
I still love and cherish my fur babies and that incident has only ever happened once thankfully.

@@Superman-nn4nw thanks buddy. All we can do is try.
Big well done for helping that bird . Shows who you are as a person . ❤
When I was a kid in Devon I had a couple of buzzards fly out of the hedgerow and fly at head height alongside me and my mate on our pushbikes. They flew alongside us for what seemed like ages before getting enough lift to go up over the hedgerow. A magical experience that's still fresh in my mind 40+ years later.
Thanks for doing what you could for this lovely creature. So sad he didn't make it 😢 🤎
Good effort mate! Poor bugger with a wonky leg but lives to flight another day hopefully
You did an excellent job there, my friend. Talk about being calm under pressure!!!
The kestrel was so lucky to have bumped into you. Very well done 👍👏👏👏
Thanks Big K
Good on ya, top man! My wife saw a Muntjac get hit by a car so stopped to check it and decided to bring it home, so we rung the RSPCA and they came and checked it over and dispatched it on our door step, glad the bird had a happier ending.
Man your wildlife rescue centers would kill a bird for a broken wing!? Over here I turned in a possum that needed over 12 surgeries and was permanently disabled for the rest of their life, and they are living happily at a animal rescue center to this day.
But why?
@@TehButterflyEffect Why help a dying man?
Yeah they do, my dad found a pigeon with a broken wing in the road, so we took it to a rescue centre. They told us there’s nothing they can do so they put it to sleep.
No,had severe nerve damage,which couldn't be treated...read the description
@chrisjones9132 if you think possum and humans are ethically equivalent you're smoking something pretty strong bruh

That's was not a kestrel. That's a buzzard. Hope he made a full recovery. Beautiful birds.
Nice work mate but people watching this should be aware that most wildlife bought to the RSPCA gets palmed off to local wildlife sanctuaries as they can't be bothered but will take all the credit. I know this as my wife works for a local hedgehog rescue.
This is a dedicated wildlife hospital. He’ll be well looked after
Thank you for trying to help him ❤
What are the odds! Hitting a vehicle which wouldn’t kill it, you being fully geared up for some bite and talon protection, the perfect sized carrier for safe transport AND a nearby RSPCA centre… that’s definitely providence working overtime there 😅 great video.
@@ChristopherWoods he wasn’t at all bitey. Maybe being knocked unconscious takes the fight out of you a bit
Sadly typical of the RSPCA, they're not interested unless there is money in it for them. Good work anyway fella.
You are in danger of being mistaken for a decent human being Mr Scoot. 😁
No danger of that
What a kind and caring rider, most people would have just pushed the bird off and carried on but you made sure it was and cared for, good for you 👍
Regrettably I think the outcome was inevitable as the RSPCA’s default position seems to be euthanasia if it’s going to cost them money and time. If only they’d been a film crew present I’m sure the RSPCA would have pulled out all the stops to save the birds life.
Thank you anyway for doing your best to help it, at least you saved it from suffering. 👍
