Kevy, I had to watch your last couple of videos with the subtitles on so as not to wake Mrs R up. It's hilarious commentary. It makes watching your videos even more fun! Ended up wakng her up anyway as I was giggling so much. Great shave
Thanks for taking one for the team :) I have the beast and it has a similar blade exposure. But I must say the razor is pretty solid, very well made no blade chatter like the stainless steel razor they have.
Great video, Kevy. I have to admit, I was a wee bit nervous for you. When you said it was 'an aggressive shave' I just knew we were in for a blood bath! Thinking back, can you even imagine your first shaves and using a razor like that?!?! You've come a long, long way. Thanks for taking us along with you, my friend. Have a great rest of your weekend! Love to all from us in Oklahoma (where the heats been in the upper 90's low 100's for a couple of weeks now).
Thanks Jack. No, I couldn't imagine shaving with this type of aggression back then. This is a great enjoyable journey and I'm really loving it sharing it with you all. Get some ice down your shirt mate! All the best. Kevy 😀👍
Although this razor is not my style I always enjoy your videos. You have a very engaging personality that shines through. I'm new to DE shaving and I watch many different people on UA-cam and I enjoy your content the most!
Quite a thick, creamy-looking lather you produced there, Kevy. Interesting to see you shave with such visible blade-exposure, enough to strike a bit of fear in any wet-shaver's mind. Glad to see that you and your upper lip didn't part company on the 3rd pass. Also, as a 15-year-old, saw the Beatles live in concert in Chicago (the second show of their Chicago stop) on August 12, 1966. Your references to Beatles songs were caught immediately and appreciated. Always appreciate the playful sense of humor, too. Thanks, Kevy.
Wow, that does look like a savage shaving implement, sound like scraping burnt toast. Nice control with it, just shows good technique is paramount. A few dots with the blades exposure is definitely a win.
That audio feedback brings back a lot of bad memories! For me, that is the sound of destruction! It sounded to me like a lot of blade chatter and tugging! 🤭 But that’s only what I got from my end, only you know what it really sounded and felt like. That sound puts me on edge because when I was first starting out, I had many shaves that sounded just like this! But, it’s because I didn’t know any better! And I’m not saying that you don’t brother, not at all! I’m just speaking for myself! So, when I heard feedback like this & was done shaving, the end result was horrible razor burn, nicks & cuts, do to not knowing that in all reality, it wasn’t even that the shaver was aggressive, but that the razor blade/head combination was off, causing there to be way too much blade chatter from the positive blade exposure & or blade gap. All in all, you did really well for this being your 1st go at this razor! Bravo, It Was Well Executed Kevy! 👏🏼 😉
Hey Kevy! Good video! Yeah, It's still hot here in Florida, it almost always is. In my part, it's 92 degrees with 90 percent humidity, just praying for some rain. But on a good note, I get to grill up some fantastic food and swim in the pool! Cheers!
Great shave. Seeing the hair disappear immediately in one swipe was a sign that an aggressive razor can instantly slaughter the hair. I can eat some strawberries from the Strawberry Fields and eat them forever. Have a great day
Nicely done Kevy💈💈 I've personally never been fond of aggressive razors, gave mine to my two son's. It's all about the comfort now a days, if it takes another easy pass, so be it😊 I have a Razorock Wunderbar slant, looks scary but shaves exceptionally wonderful👌 Looks can be decieving, the PAA DOC SS is also scary looking but gives beautiful shaves as well. Great video of a close shave👍 Enjoy!
I own the original Beast. It is amazing with the Treet carbon blade. It is only out of sheer morbid curiosity that I'd like to try this new slant. I would use a shorter handle; which I do with slants. I want to know if this Yaqi is as aggressive as my Windrose true slant. Wickham's is always a wise choice. Darron's balms are certainly next level! Although some nicks were suffered, I think the end result was clean and close. I'd like to see how the Zorrik SP fares in this Yaqi one day. Well done, as always. The song improv was not bad, but should have been bluesy. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend, and pass my regards to Mrs. Kevy, and Riley.
Its much more aggressive than those razors. It was too much for me and not very comfortable, I gave it away to a friend who enjoys really aggressive shaves. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Hey Kevy. 1. Great shave. 2. What is the main benefit of the slant from a regular razor? 3. What is the worst cut you’ve had? Have a great weekend. Only 110 degrees here
Hi. 1. Thanks. 2. It cuts the hair at an angle like a guillotine makingot a little more efficient than a straight bar razor. 3. I shaved with a Rolls razor in a video and cut myself, I still have the scar! Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

Brave Man your are Kevy. That looks like one aggressive razor. Thanks, but no thanks. I have two slants, a RazoRock German 37 and a Parker Semi-Slant. They are all that I can handle at this point. Have a great and safe weekend.

Try shimming the blade with 1-2 blades (trim 1-2mm off each side to remove the cutting edges) on top of the cutting blade to reduce the aggression of the razor. A few people on Badger and Blade have said that took it from intolerable to excellent.

Nice shave, Kevy! That razor just looks vicious! lol I've gotten to the point where I can get a good shave with just about any DE razor. But, I've also gotten to the point where I don't always want to be on "edge" while I'm shaving all the time. Smooth, comfortable, and efficient is what I look for these days. Nice shave, man! I know some like aggressive razors because they canmaybe get it all in 2 passes instead of 3. But if a smooth razor gets it in 3 and so does an aggressive razor, like this one today, what's your preference? Stay with the comfort, or go for as close a shave as possible?
You know, as time goes by and I try more razors, I'm leaning more towards a milder razor paired with a sharper/smoother blade. I'm still at the 3 pass, chasing BBS stage! I do still occasionally enjoy using an efficient razor from time to time and I only shave with this razor for the purpose of showing it to viewers. It's not really a razor I would use very often. Cheers. Kevy 👍

There's aggressive, then there's uncomfortable. I found the Yaqi slant and the Yaqi beast to be very uncomfortable due to the extreme blade chatter! I love my Karve F plate so it's not that I don't like aggressive razors but this was just unpleasant for my skin. The Yaqi scalloped head and the double open comb are both very nice!
Yaqi only seems to be offering this razor head on their Alibaba page as the 'SRH030' or 'SRH031' (gun metal), but in mass quantities. It was available on AliExpress (with great reviews), but each now says 'Sorry, this item is no longer available!' I guess if anyone wants one they'll have to wait to see if they're revising it (more aggressive? less aggressive?) or just buy the Yaqi 'SRH013' 'Beast Hybrid' non-slant razor head. It doesn't look as aggressive as an iKon Tech, but hopefully they'll offer a super-aggressive razor head option, as not too many exist, unless you're prepared to spend money for aggressive designs.
It was just the head they sent me to review. Like you, I did see it on their site but I'm not sure why they took it down. I'll try and find out and let everyone know if I hear anything. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

Hi Kevy! Love the videos, still not entirely sure why I keep spending so much time watching a man shave for 30 minutes. Anyway, although I'm not a particularly experienced double edge shaver, I always think that you're over shaving. Surely a razor as aggressive as this can get the job done in two passes? Going to a third pass just seems a bit pointless and risks further nicks. I'm sure you know your face better than I though!
Hi Kevin. Thanks 😀 Two passes with this razor would probably be enough but I'm really picky when it comes to removing every bit of stubble. I know I shouldn't but that's how I roll. Everyone is different. If I was shaving every day, I wouldn't be half as fussy as I am. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment mate. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Great shave. I need another razor like I need another hole in the head. I actually was about to buy it, then saw some bad comments on build quality, so decided to pass. Have a great week.
For the record, when the video said "Strawberry Fields" I reflexively answered "forever" even before video did. "Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. . . . that is i think I disagree. Let me take you down, Strawberry Fields, nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about . . .." That was a long time ago. I can tell that the razor is aggressive: in the close ups it seems to be baring its teeth at the viewer. Fierce. Regards.
I love aggressive razors. I have a heavy beard, so this one looks to be right up my alley. Some folks don't like this type of razor, and that's fine. Shave with what works for you. Thanks for sharing the video, Kevy. Cheers!
"Scottish Heather for shaving your face...Or shaving your hide....Long as you shave....Do it with pride"....From Hector McHector the Lost Lyrics....Stolen by Kevy Parr currently under house arrest....
My experience is the double open comb is a mild and smooth razor. The slant is just hell! I really didn't get on with it. Just imagine a slant with the worst blade chatter you can imagine! The Yaqi scalloped head and the double open comb are both really very nice razors.
The Yaqi came in through the bathroom window to help so that you could work it out and feel fine in a day in the life. Because mother nature's son, while thinking that happiness is a warm gun (it's actually a razor!), says good day, sunhine. The End.
That razor looks menacing.
I can picture two mean eyes on top of it
I hope it came with a warning. Glad to see your skin was left intact afterwards.
I ordered this head Kevy. WIll combine it with the black handle from Yaqi you had sent me. Cheers.

Fierce. Regards.
Brilliant Edward 👏
sir please tell your top slant razors for smooth & comfortable daily shave

What is meaning of aggressive shave
To me, it means a razor watered you can feel the a lot of the razor blade on your skin. Kevy 😃
I love aggressive razors. I have a heavy beard, so this one looks to be right up my alley.
Some folks don't like this type of razor, and that's fine. Shave with what works for you.
Thanks for sharing the video, Kevy. Cheers!
I agree with you. This razor won't be for everyone, but if you enjoy aggressive shaves, it will be perfect. Kevy 👍
A link that doesent load... Nice.. At least it has white squares...
I've just tried, every link works fine for me. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 lucky you when I go directly to the site it's fine
Used a different device and it loads.. typical apple.. junk
How were slant razors invented ? Maybe somebody stepped on their razor, but still really needed a shave…
I hope your theory about slant razors is true 🙂😂
I’m not going to be using any pre-shave, as I predict it’s going to be removing the first 6 layers of skin anyway
😂
hmmm...think Id pass on this head
Nope nope nopety nope. Ummmm. NO. Hello 911, it's time for my morning shave. Go ahead and send Sara and Mike over with a extra pint of O+. Thanks.
Yes! And some bandages! Lol 😂
O negative is better
"Scottish Heather for shaving your face...Or shaving your hide....Long as you shave....Do it with pride"....From Hector McHector the Lost Lyrics....Stolen by Kevy Parr currently under house arrest....
Brilliant! 👏👏
My local "Heather" smells great too - but likewise, she's NO lady!!
Ha ha! What is it with all these Heather's!?! 😂😉😀👍
Dear Lord, this is like a devette!
Do you remember this Double Open Comb you used before from Yaqi too? Is it similar to it?
My experience is the double open comb is a mild and smooth razor. The slant is just hell! I really didn't get on with it.
Just imagine a slant with the worst blade chatter you can imagine!
The Yaqi scalloped head and the double open comb are both really very nice razors.
@@Nav_M So the DOC Yaqi could mow down 7 days of growth?
@@T-R.e.x
It's open comb so it could do that but it's on the milder side so for me, the maximum it can give is a DFS, not BBS.
Hey George. I quite enjoy using the Yaqi DOC razor. This thing is about 10 to,es as aggressive! Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Thanks Kevy. It is our fella here Nav from ATG too!
I know you are playing around but I'm a singer and I know you are also. You actually have a nice instrument. Use it more. Sing us a song.
Thanks. What do you sing? Is that your profession? Kevy 😀
@@kevyshaves4109 I made part of my living singing. I played bass also.
@@kevyshaves4109 I'm a baritone.
@@RichardE62 Nice 🙂
I'm only here for the blood.
Welcome 😁
The Yaqi came in through the bathroom window to help so that you could work it out and feel fine in a day in the life. Because mother nature's son, while thinking that happiness is a warm gun (it's actually a razor!), says good day, sunhine. The End.
Genius! 👏👏
