Remtronix 820S was a big upgrade over stock on my SDS100. Located in a urban area with trunked P25 public service. Also I'm a huge fan of Smiley antennas. Run one on my THD75A
Great presentation. I'm glad you mentioned the 842 antenna. On your last live show you mentioned Whistler and why they aren't coming up with newer receivers. I seen this on RadioReference where someone posted that Whistler isn't making new stuff because so many Police and public service are now encrypted and felt so many were losing their interest in scanning altogether. Personally, I disagree with that, because you don't see Uniden backing away. If Whistler was smarter with their receivers....why not make a receiver dedicated to amateur radio, where it can receive D-STAR, Fusion, DMR and P25 conventional. If they made a receiver like this, it would be a big hit as you don't see anything being currently made like this.
My recommendation for a radio would be the uniden bearcat bc125at. It’s a really good radio and it works well. Also he did a show not that long ago on racing
Well, crap. Think I wanted something more like one of those Remtronix tribands for a little of everything, but i got one of those rh77s everyone is talking about..
I am looking to get my first scanner I am a beginner I would like to listen to police EMS and fire emergency as well as some Public Safety I was thinking about SDS 100 but it's a little bit on a high price site is there anything else you would recommend
Great Show*** Thanks Johnathan**** Happy Scanning Everyone***** Love My SDS100 & 200.

I’ve come across a lot that are bad shape deteriorating and literally disintegrating to the touch.

When are you going to do a video on the new radio's?
Hey John he already has just go back into his archived streams and you will find it it is also on his train aficionado show as well
