- We build a frame ledge style door in this video, it has an arched top rail. This was to replace an existing door in a historical building, so it had to be made identical to the door it was replacing.
We used Fijian Mahogany, a lovely timber to work.

Nice looking door - good job. I've started cutting almost half way with the TS, then flipping it over and almost cutting half way again. I then finish the small middle section on the band saw. I don't like surprises and even with a riving knife, there's no guarantee it won't bind up. Cheers

For the most part, its trouble free. The problem is kiln dried timber, having a lot of stress and tension, coupled with timber coming from younger and younger trees. It certainly isn't a bad option to finish it off on the bandsaw. We occasionally do that with bigger boards.
