    Whether it was a global pandemic, a planet-wide volcanic event or a gigantic space rock, we reached the end of the line for our species. Every single human on Earth is gone. For good. While there’s no hope for humanity to make a comeback, we’d be leaving behind a lot of stuff. Cities. Highways. Waste. Time to see just how long it would take for the last remaining traces of human life to disappear.

    I think the earth would move on from us a lot sooner than we think. For instance, in the weeks when lockdown happened in 2020, there were jellyfish in the canals of Venice. The sky and air all over the globe was clearer and cleaner than had been seen in decades. And that was only in a matter of weeks.

    I love topics like these. There was a documentary a couple of years back addressing this very subject in incredibly detail. Tsjernobyl was the obvious choice of inspiration, but they went further then that, up to 10.000 years into the future if I recall correctly. That time was set because it was estimated that the last trace of humanity (Hoover Dam and the pyramids) would finally have disappeared by then. After that there wouldn't be anything left of us according to that documentary, though I don't recall if they've mentioned fossilised human remains.
    Those imagery you've chosen are from The Last of Us, aren't they? I haven't played that game, but I love its visuals.

    • @cinemartin3530
      @cinemartin3530 Рік тому +3

      I am also interested in this topic. For some reason, when I hear about this, I feel a kind of anxious but at the same time captivatingly curious feeling, because I want to learn more about everything in this world and about our future, although intuitively I immediately begin to fear for myself, even if there are usually no objective reasons for this. But what can we do, we all subconsciously think that we will live forever )

    • @Leto85
      @Leto85 Рік тому +1

      @@cinemartin3530 That's an interesting read. Why do you think you feel anxious when you hear about this? Is it perhaps a fear of the unknown? Or to lose things? Because for this to happen (and let's hope that it won't) lots of things that we humans have need to disappear first.

    Everything would happen in approximately the same scenario that I imagined. Especially being a person who has been interested in the subject of the post-apocalypse for a long time, I know a lot about it. However, I did not think about the explosions of nuclear power plants, it turned out to be a surprise for me, I did not know well enough how they really work. It seems that half of the post-apocalyptic games and movies are not true, because no one talks about radiation after nuclear power plant explosions in a world where there is certainly no electricity. I hope that in the future your video will be taken into account by the creators of this kind of thing.🤔

      @@winniethepoohandeeyore2 One billion years from now, the sun would have heated up the Earth so much as to evaporate the oceans and with it all life on Earth would be gone forever!
      At least with humans, the Earth has a chance (however small) to spread life across the galaxy and beyond. Humanity is Earth's one and only chance to 'reproduce' and bring other worlds to life!

At some point this may be the fate of our planet....... This isn't the story of how we might vanish. This is the story of what happens to the world we leave behind " 🤔🤨
