- Aftermath: Population Zero - The World without Humans | Free Documentary
What would happen if, tomorrow, every single person on Earth simply disappeared? Not dead, simply gone, just like that. A world without people, where city streets are still populated by cars, but no drivers. A world where there is no one to fix bridges or repair broken windows…
After being on the receiving end of humanity for millennia, nature would finally be given a chance to take the world back.
But how would it work? How long would the skyscrapers and houses last if they were abandoned? How would suburban pets fare without people to feed them? How would the forests, the oceans and the wildlife react if there was suddenly an end to all the hunting, fishing and farming?
“Aftermath” is the astounding story of a world that humans will never see. The two-hour special examines the impact of human beings on this planet by proposing what the Earth might be like without people.

No. I don't think he's trying to make it scarey! We weren't around, remember?! And many of the animals survived, and the sea creatures. I thought it an excellent video! . Other civilization s have disappeared before ours. They didn't cause such trauma, and are mostly buried beneath the sand, yet here we are, today, amazingly. I think that nuclear power plants and nuclear energy were and still are the biggest of dangers, and all the reactors, and that was downplayed. The good thing about this video is that Earth was not completely destroyed, and plants and trees and animals and sealife survived. If we stopped using nuclear energy, and used our intelligence, there just may be a chance that humans could, too.
We had a taste of this in England when we had to isolate because of the pandemic. Made a huge difference in London, and in the suburbs where I live. Fresher air and so peaceful too. I saw this programme when it was first on tv. Great to watch it again.

"The Earth can survive without us. But we can't survive without the Earth."
That was the strongest message conveyed. But, conveyed to whom? Anyone (politicians and corporates) listening?
How To Reduce Pollution
1. Many Production Companies Has To Be Stopped
From global warming or climate change there is going to be mass extinctions of humans and wildlife, we do not know when, but from pollution also we are going to face mass extinction.
We manufacture so many products and it is creating pollution and pollution has increased to such an extent that it has become a threat to the world. So if we minimise our products, pollution would be less.
We produce so many things which we do not need as a necessity, like cold drinks, leather products, potato wafers, chips, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc.
Cold drinks, fruit juices, chocolates, biscuits, pickles, ice creams, etc. should be cooked at home only. Instead of cold drinks people should drink natural drinks such as lime water, coconut water or just any fruit, not any fruit juice, just the whole fruit which can be served when a customer comes in a shop, hotel or a person selling this drinks on a street and serve it to him. If we stopped producing this things which are not required as a necessity for humans, so much pollution could be reduced.
What about the companies that are going to be shut down. They would have debts to pay, just excuse them.
If we colour the clothes pollution occurs. So if we don't colour our clothes, the pollution resulting from colouring the clothes can be stopped. Let everything remain in white natural colour.
2. We Should Cook Foods In Its Natural Form
We can cook rice and wheat in our homes and eat it. Rice and Wheat is produced in farms. Then it is packed and transported to big warehouses, then wholesalers buy from them and supply to retail shops.
But if a manufacturing company makes bread from rice and wheat, then to make bread a manufacturing company has to be set up, machines and working staffs are needed. When a company is built many other things are also needed. Then at last a plastic pack is required to pack the breads.
So if we start cooking eatable things in its natural form then we do not need many companies like bread manufacturing company, tomato ketchup, noodles, fruit jam, pizza, burger, etc., the things required for the company and the plastic pack, paper box pack and glass bottles. If done like this, so many companies will not be required and hence less pollution for the world. Humans have to do this before it is too late.
If this is done, then many jobs would be lost. For that many peoples should do farming and they should be given loans if they do not have enough money to start farming on their own. Many people should study botany subject so that they have knowledge of plants and they should do farming.
Is their any another solution, that humans won't lose jobs and also planet earth will be saved.
Industrial jobs or planet earth, which should we save, planet earth is more important. Humans have to take this step certainly instead of going on polluting the earth, making wildlife extinct and also mass extinctions of humans after 100 or 200 years. Humans should not want this to happen.
no money from it no interest in it :D
We can just use geo engineering to fix climate change
We can survive without earth u can go to another planet
We can survive by relocating to another planet. Ofcourse we can. But....will it be as diverse and beautiful with its flora and fauna as Earth?
Watching from Greece.hi everybody.
Congrats to those that made this amazing documentary.
I wonder how long it would take for our existence to completely disappear. I suppose the plastics buried would be a clue. Plastics are so enduring, unfortunately. This is a fascinating scenario. When I can't sleep I sometimes try to imagine what my surroundings would look like if every one were gone; after one day, then one month, one year, and so on. Ultimately, another human obsession with death.

A genuinely astounding piece of filmmaking. The graphics and animations are seamlessly integrated into actual footage, the music is restrained, illustrative, and not overpowering, the narrator is pleasant to listen to and not hyperbolic, and the script is masterfully written. All of which made me feel like I was there in a world without humans (a bit ironic, that). My conclusion, though, is how said a world without us would be. What an amazing capacity we have to 'bend nature to our will', for better as well as for worse. I love people. While the seeming paradise our omission from the equation would produce an abundance for animals and their procreation, not a single creature remaining would appreciate the delicate beauty of a flower, the magnificence of a sunrise, the taste of a strawberry, the spiritual rapture of a hymn, or the magnificent cadence of the seasons. They would all be reduced to a single common purpose: eat or be eaten. That said, kudos for this amazing piece of work. Very well done.

Indeed, the earth can get by without us. But we cannot survive without it. I love how this documentary was made. Though, I think it would have been better if the other continents were also discussed more and not just focus on North America and some parts of Europe. But still, thank you for this.
It is an inescapable fact that one day, the Earth will no longer be there. We MUST (and I think we will) learn to survive without it.
Nothing in this documentary suggests that we can't. If it did it would paint a very negative picture of humanity.
The Earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever.
Most places will look exactly the same as the ones depicted on here, they can only fit so much into a one hour documentary.
When you hear in this video that half the small rodents/animals will die because of radiation, and then realise that nearly half have disappeared in real life, it makes you think humanity doesn't have long....!

Interesting doco. I was actually looking for (and still am) the 6 part series on Life After People. A lot of this seems to have been taken from that series.
When they were talking about the packs of wild dogs roaming the cities 30 yrs after humans, they showed a dog with a collar - after 30 yrs there wouldn't be any dogs that had known humans left. It would be a minimum of 3 generations since any dog knew humans.
I also think about pets in collars and harnesses. Adult animals would eventually loose theirs but pups and kittens would die horrible deaths.
The original version of this was xalled Life Affter People, from 2007 or 2008, then the TV series expanded on it...

Thank God we Asians still exist in this world and watching this documentary "Once upon a time when human vanished from Canada and USA"
hahaha
Diwakar Lama👍😂

After so many years, the camera man is the lone survivor
Maybe its a robot camera man...
And so the cameraman who cheated death at the wasteland cheated death once again..
Lol
Welcome back!!!
A world with no humans sounds absolute bliss.
It wasn't called 'the dark ages' because we didn't have electricity. My goodness.
Exactly what I said.
It was called the dark ages because know one had a clue ....fast foward to today and we still don't have a fucking clue.
Well it sure the fuck ended up getting dark didn't it.
He practically is just making reference to the darkness due to lack of electricity.
True. We already had fire. Not dark at all.
World without humans is a peaceful world.
How would you know if you are not there
Happy Virus apart from all the explosions and shitty water
Yall know that humans are slowly killing this planet.
@@Xie991 so are you
@@Xie991 Wont be as slow once we gone and none of safety systems getting maintained and it surly wont be a happy place when power plants go into meltdown and oil rigs start spilling into the oceans. If wont a happy place when we gone start fixing the damage
This is one of the darkest things I've ever seen 😳
Just a loss of words, really impressively made, indeed it is a happy thought that if humans are gone, the earth and nature take their "revenge", claiming only what is and was theirs, very realistic en deep documentary.
6hrs after we are gone, somewhere, a microwave oven still runs 🤣😅
Came here to find this comment 😂
And no fires yet anywhere / well that's HILARIOUS. 😌
That’s a really burnt chicken-
@@minoroka6248 Chicken????? Looked more like a mug of tea/coffee to me!
And someone somewhere called will smith i am legend
Disclaimer: No humans were harmed during the making of this movie..
Yeah because they all disappeared instantly
Dam
I’m sure some will still be offended.
What a pity....! We deserve to be...
Where are they then
Thank you so, so much.
I can never see the population of earth disappearing.
Whoever did the visuals for this did a fantastic job. So realistic! Bravo!!
No no, they just time traveled to 2021 and filmed there.
Visually on point for sure!👍🏽
The World without Humans......
And the earth breaths a sigh of relief.
No us no you
Earth has lungs in amazon
@@CG-xu3bv please shut up with your inconsequential comments
@bill Bloggs pretty sure this rock is hospitable contrary to your mad quote.... and if we are just animals then we are the apex predators on this quite hospitable rock. Just because you love an inanimate rock more than your fellow species does not mean you right either.....how facile 🤮
is a troll considered an animal?
"The Earth is resilient. It cleaned up every mess we left behind. All we had to do, was get out of the way..." Deep
I want a remastered version of this every last year
6 days after humans disappear
