As an arsenal fan, I cannot stand when someone says we should sign “a proper number 9”. There isn’t a striker itw who is realistically available that would perform better for us in our system than Havertz
Someone like Osimhen or Haaland wouldn’t do far better than Kai? I find that hard to believe. I’m not an Arsenal fan, but I would presume that Arteta wanted Havertz, because he will do some pressing, put in some defensive work

Yes, Arsenal still scored 91 goals in the league last year, probably the most in, I don’t know how long, second in the league, but if there was someone up top who could finish a lot better, you would have reached 100+ goals, and would’ve gotten enough in certain games to win the league
Also, his stamina is vital to arsenal. He plays 90 mins every match and works harder than most on the pitch.

Arteta has proved season on season that he has the cojones to pull the plug on any player to close the margins on City. Jesus & Zinny were level raisers in the 2022/2023 but then got Kai, Rice & Timber the following when he realized their limitations. Zinny has now been phased out, White might lose his spot to Timber & Ramsdale's story is well documented. I think with Jesus looking like he has lost a bit of phase, a striker in January will be revisited as Arsenal will challenge in England & looking to go a level up on that QF exit in the Champions League. Kai also can't be relied on to play 40 - 50 games straight without burning him out. Exciting times, I believe Arteta's love for Arsenal & trying to get them over the line will always override his loyalty to one player which is what a club like Arsenal looking to get back into the big time needs. Havertz timeline:
Arsenal's first game of the season, Havertz starts at striker then at the start of the Premier League Zinchenko's injured so Partey plays right back and Havertz drops back into midfield. Then Partey gets injured keeping him in midfield with Arteta not trusting Jorginho, over the next few months his performances slowly improved in that position, scoring his first open play goal vs Brentford in the 87th minute to win the game 1-0. 4 months later Jesus is injured and Nketiah after his stinker in the 2-1 loss to Fulham isn't given an opportunity vs Liverpool in the FA cup, instead Havertz starts up front, for the first time since the Community Shield. Despite not scoring or assisting most admitted he was Arsenal's most dangerous player in that defeat. Jesus returns and Havertz is placed back in midfield vs Havertz where he wasn't impressive, dropped vs Nottingham Forest away for Smith Rowe. After an impressive performance Jesus injured his knee for the 3rd time in the season days before they play Liverpool at the Emirates. Havertz because of Jesus's injury was given another chance up front with Eddie Nketiah clearly out of Arteta's plans. Havertz orchestrates a 3-1 humiliation of Liverpool where despite not scoring he got Konate sent off caused Saka's goal and was bullying the backline all game. Not quite convincing enough for Arteta to start him up top in the 6-0 win vs West Ham, the 5-0 win vs Burnley or the 1-0 loss to Porto where he instead went for Trossard. After the 1-0 loss to Porto Arteta reverted to Havertz up top to play Newcastle at home, scoring and assisting in a 4-1 win, he did the same in the 6-0 thrashing vs Sheffield United and subsequently started every game till the end of the season and only didn't play striker twice, vs Wolves and Villa, Villa being Arsenal's only loss post the winter break. Havertz scored 10 goals and 6 assists after January in 18 games, only 13 of his 17 starts were at striker.
Kai Havertz has been absolutely incredible for us! Off the ball machine, and has definitely worked on his ball striking after training… a confident Havertz is genuinely a top 3 striker in the league

As a german football who doesn't care much about Chelsea or Arsenal I always felt bad for Havertz. Glad to see him get his confidence back. He's been so good and important for our National Team as well.

i think arsenal really need a backup winger. preferably someone who can play both LW and RW, so they can come in as a saka backup but also compete for that starting spot on the LW w martinelli. pedro neto would’ve been perfect but chelsea snatched him up along w sancho and felix who both could’ve worked at arsenal imo

considering that we used to have the likes of Giroud, Aubameyang, Van Persie and the likes back in the day while winning Nothing. I gotta say I prefer this strikerless Arsenal ahead of wenger arsenal With strikers. But yeah, Havertz is our guy.

Lets be real our attack lacks threat and is over dependant on Saka Odegaard and Trossard. Havertz is a good player for a top 4 club no need to overdo it. We definitely needed a ruthless striker a natural forward with Killer Instinct against Bayern,Villa,Fulham, Liverpool and even Arteta himself admitted it
Thank you so much for this video. As an arsenal fan I've been saying for months that this is our guy, our striker. But unfortunately I keeping seeing our fans looking for new cf's. Havertz is such a good player and a feel very few people could do better than him in this role at the moment.
Tbh I thought our fellow fans start to sherish him aswell as liking him. He is one of my favorite players and songs like „60 milions down the drain“ or the nickname King Kai looked positive to me. Obviously there is still quite some skepticsism, but in the second half of last season, it definitely didnt look so bad for Havertz. He also started to get more respect in our national team, although there are way to many highlights or statmerchants who are to negativ about him.

As an Arsenal fan, I didn’t understand the signing and thought he looked quite bad at first. I can now confidently say that I was wrong and that I wouldn’t trade the man for anyone. He fits our system perfectly and is one of our best players

Whatever people think our problems are based on last season, it’s not scoring goals. So, I don’t really understand why people always wanted another striker. Would it be great if we got one? sure. But that’s not our priority.

Last year he was one of the few players that actually appeared when it mattered, he's the main reason we were in the title race till the end.

@@isaac15752 In wich world Havertz is a one season wonder, if his last season wasnt optimal for him? He had to arive and had to fit in to a completely new system aswell as positions. Havertz might be world class, but highlights wont show you that, since is a verry special type of a player.

There is a big difference between aesthetically pleasing and overall effeciency. For example, dembele might do something fancy and get you a goal out of nowhere, but for that one goal he will kill of 10 other chances by being stupid and making bad decisions. I would take havertz over someone like that all day.

At this rate we'll need someone to replace Jesus. He was absolutely electric the first few months after he arrived and after getting injured with Brazil, he hasn't been the same ever since. It's been almost 2 years since that injury and he's not showing any signs of improving.

One BIG thing people don't get about Havertz is that he's a completely different player from the Leverkusen Havertz simply because he's grown 4 INCHES taller. Admittedly, I realized that when Arteta switched him to striker. His new height comes with advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that he's a perfect striker - tall af, decent hold-up play, decent finishing (could be better), elite heading, can press, and since he has experienced playing kinda attacking mid, he can carry the ball and pull off some skills. However, the disadvantage is that his dribbling and ball-carrying has taken a hit. He's not as agile and swift as he used to be and the height makes him kinda clunsy at times, so the midfield role doesn't really suit him anymore. I've already accepted that he's my STRIKER. Gabi I'm sorry but you're a bench player now.
