What strumming pattern have you used in this video?

While using Pocket ukulele needle is not moving for any of the strings. I have played strings as closer as I could to the app .I am trying to to tune since quite some time now. Any suggestion.

How should we practice ukulele? Is it that we should keep practicing the chords or try to first understand the strings without the chords ? How much time should we give to our practice sessions per day?
15 mins practice for a day. Chords section is itself a ocean to understand.
