Great lesson, I had discovered this about using diferent positions in a blues progresion, but I didnt know how to get major scale in 3rd position in low octave, now i got. Thanks for your educational work. I guess that if u write a book or method with this and the intermediate advanced and advanced advanced teaching u got here in youtube its gonna be the best harmonica book ever.
Thank you for very valuable advice. Now I have a fuller explanation for why 2nd position harmonica is usually 'the way to go'.I'd definitely be glad to have paid,& hope appreciation comment will do. All the best. PS I will learn those scales.
Do I need to learn Note names for all keys? I know all the notes on my C Harp only.will all other notes relate to each other the same way with different Key harps?
Hi Jason, Fantastic tuition. You and Adam Gussow have got me woodshedding after 20 years of learning. What was the name of the site you mentioned at the beginning? It would be useful to do a vid on the scales through the whole 10 holes.
I'm sold on the Golden Melody. They're not as durable, but nothing plays better right out of the box and especially when they get broken in.Buy some reeds from Hohner, get a little super glue and you're set
the tough thing about playing major 2nd and 3rd is the overbending stuff, hope to get them someday. Up here harmonicas are getting expensive and is a better choice to have like the necessary for playing all the position. I actually play some 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 12th. If a master them, playing major and minor in each, then I wont need to buy all the harps.
Hi Jason, is anyone out there actively integrating the middle octave blues scales into first postion blues? I've kind of got control over this myself but would like to find other people who are doing this.
just visit your website, your a great musician Jason and i've been your student since 3 days ago. I hope I can wath you live here in Jakarta Indonesia at Javajazz Festifal or JakJazz Festival. I hope I can see you soon. but please play also jazz.

what is the deal with those overblows, i cant get them on my hohner special 20??!!
Are the scales the same on any key?
so let me get this straight you played an A major scale in three positions on a D harp
i think it must be 3OB. A note i can't get
Check out 10 hole dot com for advice on tweaking harps for overblows and advice on the technique as well! Great site!
Thanks J
Ah yes, I remember Elvis Presley's great song about the harp, Two-Blow Mississippi Flash!
Sorry, I'll go away now, lol...
Yeah, he's gay, and he plays incredible harp. Maybe you should pay attention to that. Thanks for the lessons, Jason.
