This is my favorite version hands down of this song!!! I think it has something to do with Larry’s guitar 🎸 solo and the the hole band was on it that night
I saw these guys a few times. One of my favorite bands. So fucking good, and so fucking weird... but it just works. Extremely intense experience under the influence of certain compounds that shall not be named here
Now, I am certainly not old enough to 'recollect' this from any personal, live experience, but I find the atmosphere and mood surrounding Ler's soloing in this video to be surreally similar to the stage presence of Jimmy in the video "The Song Remains The Same" when I used to view that dosed on blotter. I hasten to add I don't think it's the acid talking, either. Maybe it's something about the lighting that reminds, too. This might very well be my favorite Primus footage. Killer, FenderJazz !
I just said the same thing right b4 I read this comment,,, i think, to me at least, the blues part is very similar to jimmy when zeppelin plays bluesy,, huge compliment to ler!! Both r amazing guitarists!
+SwayzesGhost Nope, this is Tim Alexander and Larry LaLonde. The original lineup is Todd Huth and Tim "Curveball" Wright. (There were a bunch of drumers before him, but they lasted months and I don't consider them important)
@@B4CKST488ER Well they never played on any albums aside from Todd Huth who played some acoustic guitar on Frizzle Fry and electric on Sailing the Seas of Cheese.
Saw this tour at Red Rocks in Colorado..still the best show i have ever seen. they played Frizzle Fry in its entirety, and en entire set before and after...PRIMUS SUCKS
@noremac91 Sorry pal, I was in a stinking mood when I wrote that! It's just I don't necessarily agree with what you said. I should've said nothing! haha
* It was a weekend's eve I had sex on my breath I was looking for something to see With a borrowed black leather and my best fishing hat Well it was just Wendy-O and me We called ol' Swamp up on the telephone and said We was coming on down to pick him up and then He said "Hey Snappa, me and Greeny'll come along But only if we can bring a friend. His name is Harold" I said "Okay" Now, we had a Swamper, Greeny, Wendy-O, Stanley Harold of the Rocks and me We hopped into my Dart and headed for the Nightbreak To see a man they called Schoolly D Harold, he's a friendly guy, he rambles on and on He'll talk the balls off a rhinosaurus Fact is he just doesn't make much sense Well Stan said, "This guy's pretty bizarre, Gus." Harold of the rocks Harold of the rocks Harold of the rocks I saw Harold at a party Trouzy threw late one night I said, "Hey man do you remember me?" He said, "Well of course I do, Snap-Dad, and let me tell you right about now I'm lit up like an old Christmas tree." "Hey bro you know I'd like to thank you once again For letting me hang with y'all across the bay I look back that night was a warm spot across my heart" Then he shook my hand, and walked away That's the last I seen of Harold Harold of the rocks Harold of the rocks Harold of the rocks So in the end, Swamper and Greeny Finally succumbed to the ways of Harold And in doing so each gave just a little bit of his soul away What a couple of dumbshits! **
No big mate. I'll agree with you. But, people have freedom of speech, so you and I will probably run into "Primus sucks" for a long time. What I'd like to see is people say "Primus Suck" on videos that are appropriate to do so. You know the 1989-1993 era videos, when Primus Sucks was indeed the real motto.
O sry dude i dont think that u knew what i was trying to say. People say "Primus Sucks!" because that is what les said in concert and it turned into a saying that all primus fans say. but, now since it was over used it started to piss les off. (lol) But even for me it is overused and its starting to be an annoyance. (thats all i am saying) sry for the misunderstanding
The solo in this verison of the song is the single greatest piece of guitar and bass work I've ever heard in my intire life, it inspires me to breath.
Man I would give anything to play like that. Larry can improv for like ever.
One of the best concert DVDs ever. I remember when I first found it. Oh man.
I ordered it 2 weeks ago when in read there was a DVD to it and I cant get enough of it! Masterclass musicianship and so unique!
I got it twenty years ago for my fifteenth birthday 🥲 and it just won't wear itself out!
This is my favorite version hands down of this song!!! I think it has something to do with Larry’s guitar 🎸 solo and the the hole band was on it that night
The solo sounds directly Zappa inspired. Lalonde is amazing.
Lol I was thinking that also
Po-jama people.
and Jimmy Page
@brianb3877 it slips into " the song remains the same" does it not?
Yes, the Strat is lovely indeed.
I saw these guys a few times. One of my favorite bands. So fucking good, and so fucking weird... but it just works. Extremely intense experience under the influence of certain compounds that shall not be named here
I almost saw them
Best version ever
Primus = music for musicians
Ler is fucking AMAZING.
Frank Zappa lives on.
Ler's style is really unique. He's way underrated. Which is sad because he's good at the guitar.

Killer, FenderJazz !
YaWantTaters Jimmy! My favorite!
I just said the same thing right b4 I read this comment,,, i think, to me at least, the blues part is very similar to jimmy when zeppelin plays bluesy,, huge compliment to ler!! Both r amazing guitarists!
Those three ball things are cool
Utterly fucking excellent song and band

Solid jam to mosh within! Primus is indeed worthy.

Po-jama People.
And he'd be proud of them.

O.o This song makes me think Larry LaLonde is buckethead. O.O
"This guy's pretty bizarre Gus"
Ler = Most underated guitarist of all time.
Emilio Estevez hell yeah.... He keeps up with les
God Damn! Primus Sucks!!! fan since 8th grade, 1990!
Tim's solo in this is awesome
goddam i would give almost anything to have attended this concert
Something tells me Frank Zappa would have loved Primus. And this performance.
Longarm0malley I think about that every time I listen to Primus
you guys can debate over this and that! all i can say is AWESOME
Einfach nur GEEIIIIILLLL!!!!
Thid song totally reminds me of an old (ha-ha!) hippy friend of mine named... Harold.
You gotta love Ler's green HSS Stratocaster.
The ending fucking rocks
Somebody been pkayin there spot at work
I must be a dumb shit, too. I dig these guys more than I should. 😎
I can't really tell by looking, but by sound I can tell this is the original lineup
+SwayzesGhost Nope, this is Tim Alexander and Larry LaLonde. The original lineup is Todd Huth and Tim "Curveball" Wright. (There were a bunch of drumers before him, but they lasted months and I don't consider them important)

61,077 people smoke pot....at least. LOL One of the greatest performances ever.
yea this song rocks. how ironic!
I can smell the weed through my screen
I was referring to Ler LaLonde (the guitarist) actually. I didn't mean Les
Saw this tour at Red Rocks in Colorado..still the best show i have ever seen. they played Frizzle Fry in its entirety, and en entire set before and after...PRIMUS SUCKS
this is from Hallucino Genetics DVD so that explains the quality
Danforth Music Hall, Toronto...
Oh man, is that Cygnus X-1? And they played my favorite part of the song (minus the epic breakdown).
Rush nearly created heavy metal with that song.
Before, his main guitar was a 1979 Stratocaster.
I'm fucking seeing them tomorrow!!!!!
@ContinuousContinuing What about Brewer & Shipley, Dave Mason, Mike Campbell, any many others?
yep, larry has been the guitarist since 89
the old video version of the video
I met Harold the other day... He is pretty bizarre.
"Humbucker, Single Coil, Single Coil" configuration.
@DJFr3akshow lol its funny as hell when people get all pissed when you say that
lol at the way he sais Harold the first time.
@noremac91 Sorry pal, I was in a stinking mood when I wrote that! It's just I don't necessarily agree with what you said. I should've said nothing! haha
Yes, but dont tell anyone.
the old version
yeah and the solo sounds like something from presense
You know this is a Frizzle Fry song? Therefore it's appropriate.
whats the little breakdown at the end from? sounds familiar......no?

Harold of the Rocks and me

To see a man they called Schoolly D
Harold, he's a friendly guy, he rambles on and on
He'll talk the balls off a rhinosaurus
Fact is he just doesn't make much sense
Well Stan said, "This guy's pretty bizarre, Gus."
Harold of the rocks
Harold of the rocks
Harold of the rocks

Harold of the rocks
Harold of the rocks
So in the end, Swamper and Greeny
Finally succumbed to the ways of Harold
And in doing so each gave just a little bit of his soul away
What a couple of dumbshits! **
yes, he was influenced by rush.....but then again everything sounds like Rush to you people.

Was this the show where the jerk hit Les with the pig mask and he almost walked off the stage?
Les is a genius. Some of you need to stick with Brittney.
O sry dude i dont think that u knew what i was trying to say.
People say "Primus Sucks!" because that is what les said in concert and it turned into a saying that all primus fans say.
but, now since it was over used it started to piss les off. (lol)
