      I once was at a friends house having a…. Spiritual experience. He said to go check out his bathroom and it was a mirrored tile floor, mirror ceiling, walls, cabinets, everything was a mirror. I’ve never had a more chaotic bowel movement…

      @@DankasorusRexI cannot imagine being in a fully mirrored room, never mind for that purpose (or that condition), that would be wild, and I'm not sure if in a good or bad way 🤔

      My video of cleaning my bathroom is quite sure. I take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
      That also serves reasonably well in cleaning out the fridge at the same time.

    Tidying a sentimental space like this is such a crazy difficult task, cause even if you technically ""see"" all this stuff on the walls every time you go to the bathroom, you become blind to what's truly there. Very quickly you're taking things down and "Oh I forgot about this photo!", "Who's writing is that on the back of that polaroid?", "Was that X year or Y year this was taken?" - and even if you only spend 2 or 3 minutes inspecting every other item as it comes off the wall you're suddenly an hour in with barely any progress.

    great video and hilarious ending. I don't think I've ever related to someone more with my specific level of ADHD. Repeating it to me, I repeat it back, brain says "task complete" and dumps the knowledge instantly and two seconds later you are like "What the hell was i supposed to remember?".

      I'd be forced to use the Spartan method, which means that the paint would be blistered and peeling from the walls swiftly.

    You need more things staring at people while they're on the toilet. In our old house I had a small cabinet on the opposite wall of our toilet and a carefully curated group of figurines and tchotchkes that were all staring at whomever was sitting there. I also had some staring down from the shelf that was over the tub enclosure. As well as a Keane print that was staring over peoples' shoulder while at the bathroom mirror.

  • @SocksAndPuppets
    @SocksAndPuppets 6 місяців тому +20

    I'll admit, with the "bit of a state" it was in at the start, I'd be going insane. For me a bathroom is a functional space, so it should only really contain stuff that you need for the function of the room... and maybe a book or something for... longer visits. I get claustraphobic if there's unnecessary "clutter" around me while I'm doing something, and that includes using the bathroom it seems.
    I especially can't handle clutter on the floor, I don't want to be tripping over stuff or kicking stuff as I move around, and the sensation of knocking something to the floor while moving around makes me anxious.
    It's good to have a clear-out from time to time. I always leave it far too long.

    • @1pcfred
      @1pcfred 6 місяців тому +3

      I'm with you. Bathrooms should only have bathroom stuff. Although the downstairs bathroom here is decorated. It's decorated in fish. So it's like you're underwater.

  • @Ugnaught82
    @Ugnaught82 6 місяців тому +5

    My work space is about half that size, and I periodically have to shuffle through all my stuff, not so much to organize it, but to see what I've got, because I forget and will go buy parts I already have!

    Nearly 120,000 people as of this writing watched Adam clean his bathroom. Amazing. 😂
    Also I add that Adam has mentioned it previously and he briefly references it here, that he loves creating spaces. His idea where he would and create Maker spaces for people really needs to happen. To watch him sit with someone or multiple people and discuss what they do and why and then come in and make a shop for them to create in would be amazing. Adam helps them transform their sheds, bedrooms, basements, or rented buildings into the creative and functional workspaces they need. Somebody make this happen!

  • @bln35
    @bln35 6 місяців тому

    Hi Adam, as an EMT I would like to emphatically suggest that you add a small catastrophic bleeds kit to your shop, over just having the shelf in the bathroom, ideally somewhere near the lathe; a couple of tourniquets, a vented chest seal, some haemostatic gauze and a few Israeli bandages.
    if a workpiece grabs and takes a lump of you (or anyone else) with it, you need to be able to control it quickly, or there may only be a slim chance of an ambulance getting to you in time before major things start to go wrong.
    You can find a simple one day 'Stop the Bleed' course for not much money too.
    They're not expensive and It pays to be careful!

    Wish my bathroom was as fun as yours. A true work of art, Sir. Thank you for the peek.

    Looking at the bathroom at the start of the video, aside from thinking "wow there are so many wonderful things in there!", I'm asking myself "but where do you start? and HOW???"

    The amount of tape that has accumulatated on that slate and Adam has not taken them all off, I find it a little unsettling.

    Love the new look! I accumulate collection clutter too. And I’ve had to rework shelves and boxes as well.
