You are the only guy who actually delivered a clear explanation of what happened to Cav. It's a mystery why one moment he's in good position but then he's just gone. In the after race interviews he himself even doesn't hold a full picture of what had happened. He just said he don't know why his teamates just drove off and his teamates said they don't even know why he's not there, they were shocked when they look back and couldn't find him. It looks like a mis-coodination but at this level this just feels so strange. Now you solved the mystery. Just bad luck, Cav!

Pogacar’s strategy for his first TDF win was sit in Roglic’s wheel for the entire tour then take it from him at the end. Funny Pogi talking about Jonas watching his wheel as his strategy now. Funny when the tide turns the other way.

I think Pog corrected himself a little towards the end in that pre-race interview when he added to his previous comments, "In the Tour de France, racing intelligence is important, but above all you need good legs to win the Tour.” He certainly raced quite intelligently in the Giro, when despite his overwhelming advantage, he tried to conserve energy by not trying to win all the mountain stages.

Going into this second week it will be telling how he works with his teammates to mitigate his use of matches when not needed. Jonas has been very impressive as expected being tactical. I still believe Pogi will win this if he utilizes his team properly.

We're almost halfway through the TdfF, and only 4 riders have dropped out. Is that a record?
However, I doubt we'll continue this trend until the finish. The last sprint stage is stage 16, next Tuesday. After that, three stages are rated as mountainous, one as hilly, and then the final hilly time trial. So, if you're a sprinter, out of competition for the jerseys, or not supporting those with a chance for yellow, what's the point of staying in the race (especially if you're going to the Olympics)? Bragging rights for finishing the tour?
I think we'll see a lot of withdrawals a week from now., and even more before the final time trial.

This is science. Unless you are "tapping" that level of energy (on day-to-day cadence) - you should never need to add ketones.

Starting around 6.5 km to go, when their bikes were side by side, Vinegaar's fork looked to be a couple degrees more relaxed than Pogacar's. The more vertical a fork is, the quicker and more sketchy it would be. Do you think that is a reflection of how Pogarcar is willing to blast down a mountain compared to Vingegaar? Vingegaar might be willing to trade off stability for quickness.

I am looking a lot on Uno-x, Kristoff is fast, but I guess Philipsen is slightly faster, especially when the riders is not exhausted. Kristoff might be at his most competetive when everyone is very tired. It looks like the riders were more fresh than usual this stage, that they didnt have to go hard for miles and miles catching a breakaway. Uno-x very often is a top team with 3 km to go, but blows in the last two kilometers. Do they come to early to the front? A problem with tactics is that the strongest team has much more options. Philipsen can win several ways, and they had the power to get best position on the last kilometer, maybe Uno-x lacks som power and had to risk getting too early in front?

Girmay is in trouble on the rest of the flat stages of this Tour if Phillipsen puts the power he put down today it's over for Girmay, but if he can beat Phillipsen in the mountain intermediate points I'd say Girmay wins the Green Jersey easily. Girmay has to make sure he beats Phillipsen on these flat sprints cause it wasn't even close at the end and Phillipsen clearly showed how strong he is with his team and his sprint.
